Hi Laura, The 80's was such a happier time in America ! I wore every one of those perfumes except "Poison". I loved Cyndi Lauper,my favorite song was "Time After Time" What fun times the 80's were ! We thought it would last forever.
I remember the old Oil of Ulan/Olay glass bottles. My mum had it on her dressing table. I thought it was the most luxurious and fancy thing ever! The plastic bottles these days just don’t have that same feeling
I was a teen in the 80's, wore Anais Anais first, then switched to Christian Dior Poison. I still wear Poison and Opium! It was a great time to be alive, miss it very much.
I was an Estée Lauder counter manager for years. I had also tried the advanced night repair on and off with no real results. Now that I’m 51, I SWEAR by it! It keeps my super dry skin dewy and moisturized. Your skin is beautiful, you probably won’t need it for several more years! ❤
I lived through it and the single woman who dominated everything was Princess Diana. Her image was everywhere and people could never get enough of her.
Hi LJ! I graduated college in 1978 and married in 1987 so all this resonated with me. I remember buying my husband a gaming system and Super Mario for one of our first Christmases. The makeup, clothes and culture are fond memories! It was a fun time of change and go big, go bold!
My aunt never married and bought Video games for herself. Her big house is like a Pop culture Museum of the 80s and 90s. Did your Hobby do his fair share of household Chores?
Hi Laura Jane, this is me Jasette Reddix. I love your videos about the 80's and the 80's is always going to be my favorite decade of all time. I love the fashions, trends, but I also pop culture in the 80's too. I love 80's movies, TV shows, cartoons and commercials from the 80's, but I love 80's music and music videos. There are a lot of cool things that really happened in the 80's. Could you please do a segment about what's in a handbag from the 80's, but do a bathroom and kitchen segment from the 80's. Thank you.
I have been a consistent user of Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Serum for years along with their Global Revitalizing Supreme Face Cream at night and my skin gets compliments essentially every day, wherever I go! I HIGHLY recommended consistent use. I am also a lover of the Lancome Bienfait SPF 30 cream during the day. That cream is rich, luxurious- feeling, and does not leave a white cast upon my skin. I recently purchased the Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara after many years of using high-end mascaras exclusively. I was quite impressed.
I LOVE this video, it brings back so many great memories!! I was in high school and university in the 80s. I worked part time in one of the anchor department stores at the mall and it was Heaven!! I was a Maybelline Dial-a-Lash mascara devotee, wore Lauren by Ralph Lauren perfume, L'oreal lipstick which still do to this day and had giant hair and shoulder pads . I dressed like Lady Di to go to my mall job, preppy for school and Madonna for clubbing and I still wear some of my clothes and shoes from back in the day! I'm glad that I kept my Wham "Choose Life" Tshirt. What a great time it was to be in our teens/twenties!
I’ve used night repair since the 80s on and off , In the 80s you were given samples regularly which is how it should be when you are spending that amount of money . I absolutely love your videos . Flawless finish was my go to foundation in the 80s .
Poison perfume was my first big girl purchase. I saved up all my birthday/Easter and Christmas money and went with my mother and purchased my own bottle. I literally thought we were rich lol l miss those days! 😢❤
I was a teen and young adult in the 80s What a great time to be alive, holy smokes. The music was outstanding. I was 18 when I saw Madonna for the first time on MTV. And yes, i dressed and did my hair like hers. This video made me miss my past a bit, especially all the dancing.❤❤❤ I have worn all those fragrances. My stepmom used to wear " Jean Nate" body splash. Paul Mitchell hair products were big, i still use " The Detangler":). Thank you for this❤❤❤
I was born in 75 and remember all these products. I used the pan stick in high school and Clinique was my go to face soap and cream, also oil of Olay was frequently on my dresser
I was born in 74 and this is a great trip down memory lane! My holy grail was Noxema and Apricot scrub! Oil of Olay dominated my vanity table mainly because it was pink! Then I started mixing it into my cover girl foundation. Compact powder and Salon Selectives hairspray! I also used a make up brand called Finelle, It is a Canadian brand and my grandma sold it for years! Inwas obsessed with Princess Diana and I have always been a fan of Sharon Tate and Elizabeth Taylor and Jackie O! I love that some things still stayed the same. I do miss the Original Olay bottles.
Oh, wow! Estée Lauder Double Wear has been out since the ‘80’s, I have this item on my vanity right now. I use and love Double Wear the coverage is buildable! The bottle even looks the same.
Still got the Christmas 1982 make up kit. I miss their triple cream skin rehydrate, it was a face mask, wipe off after 10minutes. It worked wonders on my skin, it glowed and I didnt need foundation afterwards. I wore max factors Geminesse upmarket range of make up and max factor Swedish formula hypoallergenic make up and skincare in the pink bottles I never liked covergirl make up.there was also princess galitzine, Germaine Monteil, Adrienne Arpel and Borghese make up. I miss the headier perfumes of the 1980s, today's versions are weaker and I wish they would bring back Impulse Nirvana body spray, it was a heady bodysoray really spicy. City airspun blushes were really pigmented, anyone remember madeleine Mono make up and Charlie make up.
@@herrflick1244 I had some Charlie makeup including a holiday eyeshadow set which I loved. I also used Borghese, Ultima II and Germaine Monteil. At the drugstore I loved Max Factor, Aziza, Revlon Natural Wonder and Cutex nail polishes. I also looked forward to the back to school Bonne Bell makeup kits that came out every year.
Good Lord, seeing that Giorgio Beverly Hills bottle made the smell come right back to me! I remember we would be at the mall all day, go by the perfume counter to spray on our favorite scents (mine was Diva by Ungaro), then we would go out dancing most of the night. Most of the beauty counter was unobtanium for us teenagers from working class backgrounds. A trip down 80s lane wouldn't be complete without White Shoulders and Love's Baby Soft. These were staples for the 11-18 set. White Shoulders was also worn by a few grandmas, it had a relatively light floral scent. Love's Baby Soft had a powdery sweet scent, and was hard to overspray.
I graduated HS in the 80s. Went to college in New England and those NE winters could be cold and dry. Back then, Elizabeth Arden had a skincare line for sensitive skin that I loved. It worked beautifully on my sensitive, dehydrated skin. It's too bad they discontinued it. I started using Estée Lauder's Advanced Night Repair about a decade later, and use it to this day. It is an excellent serum, definitely deserving of its reputation.
I was born in 1981 and I love beauty products. My mum was a Elizabeth Arden consultant, so she had many Elizabeth Arden products when I was growing up. I'm a ex Clarins consultant / beauty therapist so I had and still use a lot of Clarins products. I just love it 🤩😁🤩❤️❤️. I do go in phases of trying different products to keep my skin good and changing it up occasionally ❤❤❤
I absolutely love your channel. It brightens my mood and brings me back. Thanks for all your research and hard work. I have used many bottles of EL night repair and have never noticed a difference so it's not you !
I went back to dove soap and ponds rejuveness with roc deep wrinkle for my tired 50 y.o. face. Works better than all this century's super expensive stuff...and ive worked in Beverly Hills salons for 30 years. No botox, no fillers, no wrinkles, Oil of Olay spf 15 since i was 15. Dont waste your money on the "new" stuff.❤Cool video great channel.
Have to admit that I bought a bottle of “Mane & Tail” last month. It takes the buildup from hair products off so well. One of these videos made me start thinking of products I used to use.
Fun trip back to my favorite decade!! I've used both Advanced Night Repair and Double Wear since they were introduced in the 80s along with every other Lauder skin care product over the years, most of their fragrances too. Owned the fragrances in your video but my go to was "Forever Krystle" which was a fragrance named for the Krystle character from Dynasty. I never watched the show but loved the perfume!
I lived through this decade. It was the best! I was a tween, then teen at the time . Loved all the fashion, pop stars, movie stars, music videos. You brought back a lot of memories for me . I had a lot of those makeup products and perfumes you mentioned . Great video . ❤
Thanks for another great video Laura! I really like "Georgio" by Georgio Beverly Hills. Their 1989 fragrance "Red" is also fantastic if you Iike the heavy, spicy smells. My aunt always used that Estee Lauder night serum mentioned, and I am going to try it. I think no one can ever hold a candle to Joan Collins as Alexis Carrington Colby! And as for classic 80s Brat Pack movie "Pretty In Pink" I have to say 💯 I would have picked Ducky! 🥰😍🦆
I really enjoy your videos and reading all the comments! I was a teen in the 80s and couldn’t afford to go to the make up counter at the mall, but I was often at the mall hanging out. Instead, me and my friends liked to go to the drugstore and buy make up. The place that had the best selection in my area was Longs Drugs. My favorite eye shadow was max factor, though I liked Revlon’s blush. I also used Maybelline eyeliner, which I think is actually a brow pencil that I used a lighter to slightly melt and would apply then smudge. I didn’t wear mascara back then. Foundation was tricky. Cover girl was always too pink and made me break out. I remember toward the end of the 80s l think it was neutrogenia that had a good one with more yellow tone that seemed to match well. I’m trying to remember which compact powder I used 🤷♀️ One thing I wish I did have was Freeman’s Apricot facial cream. Not the scrub, but the face cream. It worked soooo good and sank right into my skin leaving it petal soft and not oily. I cannot even find a image of it on the internet. I did write the company about it years ago and whoever responded apologized that they don’t make it anymore.
Covergirl was orange/pink to me too. I finally found one that was Cornsillk? Maybe? It was good until we all started to get our drivers licenses to go to the Clinique counter in the mall.
Omggg I was a teen in the 80’s and the big companies were after us. We had makeup and skincare parties, we would go to the mall and get made up in Estee Lauder. I had allll those perfumes! My favs were Giorgio and Opiium. Turning 60 this year and so glad we learned skincare and make up back then lol. Great flashback thanks!”❤❤
Now this is the time I grew up in. The best era (at least to me it is) oh and Dallas and Dynasty were night time soap opera not daytime. Love you videos
PLEASE make a video like this for the 60s😍 I absolutely love and adore 60s beauty, makeup and hair and the mini skirts and dresses. I love the packaging of the makeup products of the 60s so much, it was so chic and fancy and they put so much effort into it, especially the Avon lipsticks or the Yardell ones, they are so dreamy💕 I tried looking up more products but it‘s hard to find.
Night Repair was and is an innovative product. I used it until some of the active ingredients became available in other products. If you live in a humid State ,hyaluronic acid is your best friend.
I've tried many popular serums today and they always irritate my skin! The Night Repair is the only one that doesn't and I've noticed an improvement in my skin. But again, like you said, I've used it 2-3 times a week for a few years now.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I enjoyed taking a stroll down memory lane. The 80’s were the absolute best ❤OMG Van Halen, Motley Crue and Madonna were some of my favorites!!! I remember the fluorescent clothing too lol 😆
I was yoo young in the 80s for make up. I dont remember much about the 80s aside from going to school! I enjoy watching movies from that time period and some of the music i enjoy.
Wonderful video! I enjoyed the commentary on Arden and Lauder! I use both brands but Arden skin care is my favorite. Double wear is great! You may also like the flawless finish foundation by Arden. It has hyaluronic acid and vitamins C and E in it. It’s a 24 hour wear foundation as well.
I remember Maybelline Great Lash mascara in the pink tube & green brush! This product was responsible for giving me my first time eczema episode around the eyes! Pretty funny and awkward, looking back! Thank you, Queen Helene cocoa butter, for saving me. I wore L’Oreal Color Riche lipstick in Blackberry, since it was the darkest color available in drugstores, unless you opted for Wet n’ Wild and Ricci dollar-priced black lipsticks & matching nail polishes!!!! L’Oreal lipsticks were (are??) very moist and therefore notorious for bleeding, so you had to get a lipliner to keep your lip lines contained, defined, and looking sharp! Then there was the L’Oreal pressed face powder, advertised in one underground Goth fanzine, but I was so hauntingly pale and fresh-skinned in my youth, the lightest color did nothing but dull my naturally ethereal & otherworldy and sickly(!?!?!) complexion, at that tender age and time! (Granted, this was before the Vamp craze of ‘90s Chanel hit makeup counters!) Perfumes?!?!?! WHERE DO I BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT GET ME STARTED🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀❕❕❕❕❕❕❕The music was ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!! You had to go all the way, when it came to music, whatever the genre, whatever your poison! I own a few vintage ‘80s issues of Vogue. Brooke Shields is still my fave model, with her caterpillar eyebrows. Great vid! Thanks so much!!
Love this video Laura.. I was in high school in the 80’s and I’ve used almost every product you mentioned lol. I have tried the Estee Lauder Night Repair serum a few different times throughout the years but I never noticed that it did much. But like you had also said, maybe I didn’t use it consistently for a long enough time, don’t know lol!
i was born in 2006, but obsessed with history. my favorite 'modern' time period has to be the 80s (i mostly hyperfixate on the regency & victorian era, thus why i refer to 80s as being recent). my parents grew up in the 80s, i love the media aspect of it all! i love new edition & movies staring the brat pack- to be honest, most of my childhood revolved around small little parts of the 80s. i grew up adoring pretty & pink! (i'm a huge pink lover)
Lancôme, Clinique , Biotherme& Clarins are my Skincare Products since years! But i found a new Brand based from Lappland/Finnland called Polaar!!!!! I highly!!! Recommand it !
I turned 20 in Dec 1982. Foundation out of a bottle (Cover Girl was very popular), put on with your fingers. Maybelline cover stick (it looked like a lipstick), blush as shadow most of the time, L'Oreal lipstick, Maybelline Great Lash mascara, Maybelline black eyeliner (softened with a lighter, with the red colored wood pencil) and smudged with your finger, other eyeshadows that were popular: Wet 'n Wild 2 shadow, singles or 2 in one palette (I loved the black and yellow), Aziza eyeshadow, Cover girl singles, Maybelline shadows. L'Oreal shadows (loved the yellow/green/purple), loved Halston for Her perfume for me.
I worked in a department store in downtown Seattle during all of the 80's. I remember all of this. Seattle was exciting for someone in their 20's. The 80's was so culturally rich. I feel the young generation today has been cheated out of the vibrancy of life.
I was in college in the 80's and it was a wonderful time, except for AID's, various political squishes and the crash of '87. The fashion was pretty cool as was the make up. I was remembering friends who wore each perfume you mentioned as I watched! Thanks for the memories. :)
I can remember that I began my love affair with Estée Lauder Double Wear (which I still use today) back in the '80s, even though I was only then in my late 20s and probably way too young to need the full suit of armor-like coverage at that time (Lord knows I do now!). Seeing the ads for CK Obsession, I can remember that it seemed like every time I went into Filene's, Bloomingdale's or Lord & Taylor, there. was always some lady at the exit of the escalator, spritzing every women with Obsession or Escape, whether she wanted it or not!
Giorgio was revolting. The first designer fragrance I got in the early 80’s was Lauren by Ralph Lauren. Exclamation and Aviance Night Musk were a couple I used during that time.
Have you noticed that the rubber inside the tubes of mascara and liquid eyeliner were taken out of the tubes? I think it was bc of the rain forest depletion. I've missed it bc it scraped the product back into the tube so it wouldn't come out gloppy and make your lashes clumpy. Why couldn't the manufacturers use silicone to help the products from drying out so fast? I know they might want us to rebuy it. I bought Elizabeth Taylor's Passion perfume and powder and Clinique lipstick 💄😊 in the late 80s
I remember this phenomenal hair care product I was obsessed with that was an offshoot from the 1980s called jingles international.. it had hair gel. Mousse. And this wonderful lavender scented lavender colored shampoo that was outstanding. I could only find it at this incredibly dated hair salon that was in my town but I loved it lol. They've gone the way of the dodo bird
I was born in 74 and this is a great trip down memory lane! My holy grail was Noxema and Apricot scrub! Oil of Olay dominated my vanity table mainly because it was pink! Love you videos
Paris! I wore that in the 80’s! Loved it so much. Still have a bottle for reference. Thanks!
This was a wonderful trip down memory lane. Thank you for posting it
Glad you enjoyed it
I was a kid in the 80s so makeup didn’t starting the 90s. Atari, Sony walk man, licorice pizza and neon were everything.
Night Repair was and is an innovative product. I used it until some of the active ingredients became available in other products. If you live in a humid State ,hyaluronic acid is your best friend.
Who remembers Sea Breeze and Clinique Crystal Mauve lipstick?
I still use Seabreeze during the summer. It feels so good and it's cooling.
I've tried many popular serums today and they always irritate my skin! The Night Repair is the only one that doesn't and I've noticed an improvement in my skin. But again, like you said, I've used it 2-3 times a week for a few years now.
Interesting maybe you need to use it for a long period of time like you said. I do want to try it again
Thank you so much for sharing this. I enjoyed taking a stroll down memory lane. The 80’s were the absolute best ❤OMG Van Halen, Motley Crue and Madonna were some of my favorites!!!
I remember the fluorescent clothing too lol 😆
Hello this is Latonya love when your videos come on I am always watching you videos
Thank you so much 🤗
Aziza was a popular cosmetics brand in the ‘80’s that I used to buy.
Volcan D'Amour and Halston were my favorite fragrances.
Obsession, I was deathly allergic to and Poison smelt like Raid bug spray.
loulou by Cacheral was also released in the 80's. One of my favs.
Clinique DD lotion and Estee Lauder Night Repair are the 2 products I still use today at age 68!
I do still love Poison. In small amounts lol
Men’s Obsession is STILL a scent that catches my attention. Takes me right back to HS.
I really enjoy watching your videos! Have a nice day!
Thanks Laura!
Perfume Anais Anais or Skin Musk. Sea Breeze astringent or Bonne Bell 10-06. Vidal Sassoon Shampoo and Conditioner smelled so good.
Lots of great memories
my mom is an 82’ baby and uses estee lauder night repair
Lancôme, Clinique , Biotherme& Clarins are my Skincare Products since years! But i found a new Brand based from Lappland/Finnland called Polaar!!!!! I highly!!! Recommand it !
Try Estée Lauder Double Wear with a damp beauty blender. It’s the best!
Thanks for sharing all of your beauty products !
80’s was the last decent decade!
Would say the 90s
Fun stuff! I still wear Obsession by Calvin Klein. Thanks!
Clinique everything
Request 80s leading film mens morning routines
I never clicked so fast for a yt video, omg i love the 80s!
I worked in a department store in downtown Seattle during all of the 80's. I remember all of this. Seattle was exciting for someone in their 20's. The 80's was so culturally rich. I feel the young generation today has been cheated out of the vibrancy of life.
I wear Double Wear when I have to be seen all day. I don’t use it everyday because $$ and hard to get off. Has a nice finish though.
Interesting I need to try it
The 80s were legendary!
The 80s. Fashion and hair never saw a sadder decade. But it was a much happier time.
I really like EL skincare line though I haven’t tried any of the makeup even though the double wear foundation is a close friend of mines hg ✌🏼
I was in college in the 80's and it was a wonderful time, except for AID's, various political squishes and the crash of '87. The fashion was pretty cool as was the make up. I was remembering friends who wore each perfume you mentioned as I watched! Thanks for the memories. :)
I had no idea Poison was that old, I wear that now days! I’m 35 so was only a baby in the late 80s
Everything you talked about I had,did or purchased😂😂
Αt last! After all these 70's nostalgia....
OMG! My best friend wore poison perfume! Totally forgot!
I graduated H.S. in '80 😊
Giorgio was revolting. The first designer fragrance I got in the early 80’s was Lauren by Ralph Lauren. Exclamation and Aviance Night Musk were a couple I used during that time.
I swear Estée Lauder’s advanced night repair is a placebo.
Anais anais is available in uk
Have you noticed that the rubber inside the tubes of mascara and liquid eyeliner were taken out of the tubes? I think it was bc of the rain forest depletion. I've missed it bc it scraped the product back into the tube so it wouldn't come out gloppy and make your lashes clumpy. Why couldn't the manufacturers use silicone to help the products from drying out so fast? I know they might want us to rebuy it. I bought Elizabeth Taylor's Passion perfume and powder and Clinique lipstick 💄😊 in the late 80s
Thank you very much
Was never born during this time, but wish I was able to live through it, I was born 1995
Omg I didn’t care for the 80’s 😂 I used Avon for years 😊thanks for sharing 😊
Was age of plastic and crap 😂😂😂 too
I remember this phenomenal hair care product I was obsessed with that was an offshoot from the 1980s called jingles international.. it had hair gel.
