I was a teen in the 80's. I also loved the metal tins of lip balm. I remember graduating to rave extra hold hairspray🤣. It was perfect for my 80's huge punk hair.
As a woman of a certain age, this was a weird video of my life!! Some things we did are still good. Some, deranged!! Why did we EVER think carpet in the bathroom was a good idea?
I was a young adult (20) in 1980 and had my first homes in the 80s. I feel like the pastels were big because of Miami Vice. My son recently bought a fabulous house and I think the reason he got it so reasonably priced, was the huge en suite bathroom is the epitome of 1985 elegance. Of course, he's going to have it redone but it makes me smile.
I wore Dior Poison when it came out in the 80's. Recently began wearing it again! Some other funny products from the 80's: Tickle deodorant, Love's Baby Soft products, Short N' Sassy shampoo. My childhood bathroom was indeed all pink! :)
Don't forget Love's Lemon, or Love's baby powder and colognes. Also Lemon-Up shampoo, along with Flex products and Suave. There was also Midol for cramps.
Great video! I loved the 80’s. It’s as if you walked into my bathroom. I used all of those products. I still use the cinnamon closeup! Great trip back to a time that was so much simpler. 😊
I love the 80's, my favorite decade, the music, hair etc. Perfume lasted until the next day. Nowadays 3 to 5 hours and the perfume scent is gone. My favorite was Georgio Beverly Hills, until they changed the formula and watered it down, dosn't last long . Most perfumes are a shadow of their former selves. The spiral perm was great because all you had to do is wash and let it dry. 💖
OF COURSE, IT WAS GEORGIO AND LOVES-----THE ONLY ACCURATE ITEMS ARE 100% FROM THE VIEWERS THE VID CREATOR KNOWS LESS-THAN-ABSOLUTELY-NOTHING. oH JEAN NATE WAS THE THIRD ONE NOTHING ELSE MATTERED BUT THE BIG 3
I still use great lash, noxzema, and the coty powder. Obsession and Poison bring back memories-I used them both 😊Of course Vaseline and Vicks are still regular use items in the medicine cabinet 👍🏻
I was born in 73 and we had agreed and Ms Breck also lighted make up mirrors with four settings and mist curling irons from Clairol and final net and salon selectives shampoo and conditioner and Hairspray!! Love this video thank you ❤
We used to douse our selfs in baby oil and sit out in the sun. Tanning beds were also very popular. I remember going to the tanning beds although out high school. Anybody else remember these practices in high school? Moshi
Those who couldn't do tanning beds, slathered up with oil and laid out on tin foil or one of those foil blankets. We were literally frying ourselves. (Judy Vanderploeg)
Gotta say, I love that glass block! Mirrors too. Maybe it's tacky, but I do. I ordered Dynasty and binge-watched the whole series! (I missed it at the time.) Glamour forever--even if it isn't the '80s anymore.🥂💎💎💎💎💎
I would like to shout out an unsung hero from the 80's bathroom: Jheri Redding Spritz. Aqua Net gets all the mentions, but the JR spritz was the true workhorse. You could spray at the roots and create massive lift. It didn't turn into hair concrete immediately like the Aqua Net. It gave you time to style, then finish it off with a light dusting of AN.
I used the Redding spritz, and I believe he also had combs and brushes that I coveted for years. Couldn’t remember the name so thank you for your comment. 👍
I dont hear many people bring up Vidal Sassoon shampoo and conditioner. That stuff was amazing. Loved it. And you felt kind of fancy as a teen using it. lol
@@scarlettlirely7475 I used that line, too. I think they called it the Vidal Sassoon system. 🤣 fancy. Pretty much used all of that stuff. I have three older sisters. The house always smelled so good because of the shampoos we used. 😄
The smell of Jean Nate (Jeen Na-TAY) takes me back to the 70s and 80s. I'm sure the formulas of products were way harsher back then. They used to sell them in huge bottles.
I was in my 20’s in the 80’s. You got it right! I’m sure this video would’ve been hours long if you tried to put in everything. There was a lot of shiny gold, and black lacquer in bathrooms too. I had a baby blue and black bathroom in my first apartment. I had black acrylic soap dish, Kleenex box holder etc. I thought it was the height of luxury😂
Vicks! Oh my goodness, I haven't used that in years. The first time I heard of it, my grandma was recommending it to her brother for temporary relief from an external hemorrhoid. Unfortunately, she realized too late, that she meant to tell him Vaseline.
I don't recall those bathrooms at all, but, then again, I lived in a small apartment in Manhattan. It was old and gray, though we did update it in the mid-90s. As I recall, facial products with SPF became popular then and I snapped them up. Revlon had a fantastic foundation in a pump bottle that included SPF and it was my go-to.
I have bought Jean Nate the body splash and piwder its delicious but a little strong but delicious my grandmother used to wear it too I bought it couple of times at Rite Aid pharmacy
I grew up in the 80s and wasnt into fashion and my hair was as stait as a pin. I wore out whatever fit and i liked it. I didnt have after school clothes and didnt own a stich of make- up till in my 20s. The only hair accessory it was a hair band. Strange, im still that way
I lived in a house where the master bedroom en suite had a corner bath with an in set seat part and carpet 🤢. All cream. Loved the bath, despite it being rather impractical but hated the carpet.
I decorated my daughter's bedroom with the heart curtains, bedspread, and same laundry basket shown at the very beginning. Doesn't look that great to me now..lol
Shag carpet was 70's especially in the bathroom we had it. Colored fixtures sinks tubs and showers were late 70's, colored tissue 70's glass walls in that cubed glass 70's, the only reason i know is because we had it but im a huge giant fan of yours 🌹💖
My grandparents (mom’s parents) are moving to a smaller house and I sent my mom this video asking, “if I help grandma and grandpa move will I discover some of these things?” 😂

Yes sea breeze a must
I used to use it and it burned the crap out of my skin, and actually in hindsight, it was making me break out worse.
@@baylorsailorI'm glad I discovered witch hazel. More soothing.

I just bought lemon up shampoo lol u can get it at THE VERMOUNT COUNTRY STORE CATALOG
Love's Numero uno
Love’s Baby Soft was more popular in the late 70s
Even now I still long for Agree or Flex while standing in the aisle deciding
I loved growing up in the eighties 👩🏼🎤 thanks for the trip down memory lane Laura ( I used Jean Nate, splashed it on after a shower) ❤
Maybe I should try it! The reviews are good
I miss the color, the fun, alot of the products, and blasting 80s music from my Garfield shower radio! 🙂❤️
Coty airspun powder is great. I still use it My grandmother in Europe even used it in the 1930s.
Don't forget the little boom boxes that we had to have in the bathroom. Pastel colors.
Oh sh*t I had a pink one what do u mean in the bathroom we walked around outside with them. Always buying batteries
@@nicolecrystal6765 LoL. Oh those cassette ribbons that we would straighten out with a pencil ✏️
I had a pink side step 😂
Bathrooms were only that huge in magazine ads. Most were in very modest homes, built post-war.
Yeah! And just look how Soviet bathrooms looked at that period. Boring, white tiles with permanently stained bathtub and yellow or green wall paint😅
Ikr. As long as it was clean and sanitized, I was good.
Also April Apricot facial scrub 10-0-6, and Maybeline Kissing potion
It's so fascinating to see how the colourful trend had an impact on so many things in the 80s, even toothpaste!
