When you finish your wash (and spray products). This is a good time to check fluids and retube the chain. (tip) spray WD40 under the finders and mud trap areas. You can also spray it on a cloth and wipe onto the fork boots. This will help to wash off sticky mud on the next ride. The bike is now ready to sit in your garage waiting the next ride. All you need to do is check tire pressure and fuel up before you head out.
For the fork boots, a small car brush or soft brush works well. I follow a similar process to clean my bike, but instead of using my hand I use a wash mitt with a bit of car wash soap and water. For drying, a leaf blower works wonders if you don't want to ride it while it's wet.
It's funny... it should be an easy thing, but I've been wanting one of the folks I watch to do a cleaning video of their motorcycle. Pretty easy stuff but it's nice to see what others do. Thanks!!
Pretty cool stuff. I’ve used other brands and for regular street riding they do a good job. I’ve also seen people apply a thin coat of WD40, which again is probably more suited for the street.
Maxima SC1 is what I have been using for the past 2 years. I’ll apply to the bike once it dries. I do find that the mud comes off easier when I use it. Might have to try the Tusk product, SC1 is pretty expensive, IMO.
@@SwankyCatProductions Have you used SC1 in the past? If so, does the Tusk product work as well as SC1 with removing dirt/mud/grime by applying it to your bike prior to getting it dirty, in your opinion? Just curious because I was sold on SC1 after seeing the difference it made..
One car lives on a gravel road and on car stayed on pavement, witch one last longer? I don’t have 8k to spend every other year on a new bike so I’m going to go ahead and keep my XR650l maintained.

I like to use my electric leaf blower for the drying step
I've done that too 🤣
I’ve also used my wet/dry vac that has a blower on it but a Leif blower does work well.
Man, nice I also keep my machines clean as a whistle, the last step I use Pledge or Endust on the plastics and the metal tank !
Nice!
Saving for that XR. right now
Nice! It's a fun bike!

That all sounds like a much better idea 🤣

That’s quite the chicken dance squad you have there bud. 🤪. Good video . Gonna give that stuff a try.
Haha yeah they're always trying to get into the videos one way or another so I thought I'd just roll with it 🤣

Yeah even with my rather messy application it seems that there are certainly some benefits and it's definitely less expensive than the SC1 stuff.

Hey hey, It's the XR Pope mobile!
Haha
Quick easy and cheap, just how I like my women 😅
Thanks for NOT doing the Cool Hand Luke prison car wash😅
🤣
a little soap won't kill ya.
Haha
is the carpuride not on in this video when riding or is the screen just that dark?
I just didn't have it turned on since my dad and I were swapping bikes. It's usually more than bright enough to see.
