    Great video good stuff to help with stopping some of the miscellaneous noises I have a 83 z/28 it's a low mileage unmolested car I'm the second owner my uncle purchased it new back in the day and when he passed away last year I ended up with the car and have plans on making some improvements with my son who is starting to get into cars now and we really enjoy your content and channel.

    I know most use some kind of mat....but I think the spray on stuff would be waaaay easier to apply and get the same results in stopping the tin can sound

    • @FireballMullet
      @FireballMullet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I probably would consider spraying if the car was completely disassembled, but it would be a real pain to mask off dash, harnesses etc

    Hey Stan, great video! Before you start buttoning things up, I have to ask if you pulled out the 6x9s and put some kilmat on the inside of the b-pillar? That's a large area that loves to flex from the lows the speaker is trying to reproduce. I did that on my daily driver GTA and wow, it improved the performance for the 6x9s which made it easier to tune. If you have already thought of that and done it, disregard lol! Thanks for the tessa tape idea, I'm going to go that route when the time comes. Keep up the great work, sir!

    Great channel!! I have a 91 RS and your videos are very informative and helpful!!
    Would you recommend using Kilmat on the underside of the T-top roof?? I know the area is small, I didn’t know if it was worth the effort.

    So good to see you cleaned up the surface rust. I wouldn't have expected to see that on your car being it's a Florida car and you seem to take such a great care of it. Just shows how poor GM's quality control was with these cars. This generation could have been so much more. Really loving what you're doing here. Hope you have good results because I might steal some of your ideas haha

    • @FireballMullet
      @FireballMullet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I was a little shocked also, but the ttops leaked like crazy when I first got the car, I really had to get the windows and tops tight before the mew interior went in. Thanks for watching

    Great videos. It appears that you did away with the firewall rubber insulated mat. I am installing Killmat right now and my firewall pad is ratty. I don't have time to pull my dash right now to replace the pad. Looks like maybe I can do without it? Thanks!

    • @FireballMullet
      @FireballMullet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of it that I could pull out, it smelled nasty lol . Yeah I squeezed the Kilmat up there and some of the closed foam pieces

    Buy some clear shrink wrap to put over your labels. It's awesome, I did it on my home built harnesses and am pretty pleased with how it's turned out so far.
    Edit: Another note from my experience, the split loom over the wires, cloth tape over that. Protects and strengthen the harnesses, along with allowing you to open the tape up if you need to via the slit in the loom if you cut correctly. Also, consider mechanically fastening those harnesses and modules so they're not banging and sliding loose. Those three things will make all the difference in the world my friend.

    • @FireballMullet
      @FireballMullet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cool! Thanks for the suggestions, yeah I think I need to figure out how to fasten them. I’m a little concerned the air lines run under back seat… I may have to buy more air lines and route them different so the carpet lays nice

    Where did u get the new carpet from? Is it precut? If so will the Kilmat effect the coverage and cut outs?

      Hawks, but it is ACC so most places sell the same set. I optioned for loose jute padding and mass rubber backing. It was like 550.00 or something like that for everything
