Doodly uses svg vector paths, which means if you use Inkscape you can literally draw the lines in a program built to use vectors. No more endless clicking. Each vector line you draw in Inkscape is a line doodly will trace. If you color over you png image in inkscape with vector strokes, then before exporting to svg set those strokes to transparent. Doodly will upload the png with the strokes already set up. It’s just better because they are so much easier to draw in inkscape. Also you can trace line images using centerline trace which will save you a ton of time. Realize also that the line width control in doodly is actually a function of the svg vector image not soemthing unique to their platform a thicker stroke in Inkscape is a thicker stroke in doodly. It’s a clever program but they didn’t reinvent the wheel. MAkes sure you remove any transforms though as that will affect line width.
Very helpful. Is there By need for background music? As this is a dense informational video. I am neurodivergent and find background music distracting.
Had discovered the draw paths before, but this training filled in some of the gaps in my knowledge, including the whole bit about SVG paths. Really appreciate having all these training videos at our disposal.
I'm loving the software, what I believe it really needs is called a "Transport" so that video and audio can be rewound, paused and played (I know it has a play/pause button while in preview mode) but we need better control in the workspace timeline for audio such as "split at playhead" (slice audio) which would allow better editing on the build.

Absolutely LOVE this! I may not be the best at the artwork, but wow! I really appreciate the added flexibility of being able to add my own! .svg images are the best!
I really enjoyed this tutorial! I can see how the draw path is key to creating a video that is really fun to watch - because it looks as if it is being drawn in real time.
hello, good afternoon. excellent video. I have a question, can I import an image of a diagram, and can I have it drawn in order? start at one point and continue like that? and up to how many seconds or minutes maximum, only one image can last. I need it to be very slow. Thanks for your help.
Thanks Pamela, but how about a JPG image? seems that the JPG/JPEG image that I imported and use into the presentation it had a lot of black spots on it, it wasn't a clear image
Thank you for these helpful videos! Can someone please tell me if it's possible to program an asset an asset to appear without being sketched? I get the "no hand" option, but can it appear all at once? If so, how? Thanks in advance!
Is it possible to add a video file (.mp4) on Doodly? In my company we have a standard closing vignette for our videos and I would like to know if it's possible to use that with Doodly. Thanks!
Hi! For a color-filled illustration, is it possible to make the hand draw the lineart, then make another path for filling the color inside? Also, is there a limited number of reveal points you can add in one path? Thank you in advance!
Hi Doodlers … my videos are looking for a Doodly to draw circles, and draw lines and arcs within circles, etc. Anybody found such a capacity in the Marketplace?

I am trying to do simple drawing videos to teach my grandchildren (in a different state) how to draw. Like, for example, I have a simple line drawing of a dachsund. So I imported the simple drawing, create the paths, set it up to pause between paths so I could talk between drawing the lines, and did all the paths for the dog and the ground under his feet. First, no path (like the red path) shows up; next, when I hit preview, the screen comes up blank, the blue line shows all across the bottom, no hands draw, nothing until the entire dog appears, all drawn in. WTH?

Nice tutorial! One suggestion: The car should have sped off to the right as the speed lines indicated motion that favored that direction.
Thanks for the tip!

Awesome video...thanks!
Glad you liked it!
the file size to add in can't be larger than 1020. Are there any other restrictions like file types that cannot be added into the prop settings?
How do I get rid of the hand that points before it draws?

My Doodly doesn’t have the slider to change the width of the oath. Ugh! So frustrated!
Cool Tutorial. Is the path saved with the imported image for future use ? Or does it needs to be redefined each time I use the image in a vidéo ?
It's saved for future use :)
Great... what about erase paths? If I want a slower erase, it just does the standard diagonal wipe away, which doesn't look great.
