    Thanx a million mate. You've just taught me how I'm gona amimate in Doodley in one Vid..... Basicly, saving me a lot of Searching an planning that wouldn't of worked as to how will be best for me to use to program ❤😁

    Doodly uses svg vector paths, which means if you use Inkscape you can literally draw the lines in a program built to use vectors. No more endless clicking. Each vector line you draw in Inkscape is a line doodly will trace. If you color over you png image in inkscape with vector strokes, then before exporting to svg set those strokes to transparent. Doodly will upload the png with the strokes already set up. It’s just better because they are so much easier to draw in inkscape. Also you can trace line images using centerline trace which will save you a ton of time. Realize also that the line width control in doodly is actually a function of the svg vector image not soemthing unique to their platform a thicker stroke in Inkscape is a thicker stroke in doodly. It’s a clever program but they didn’t reinvent the wheel.

      Krita for the mac is probably the closest you'll get to Paint.net. It is excellent for cartooning, and ideal for Doodly creations. It is made by artists who wanted an affordable application with concept art, texture and matte painters, illustrations and comics. Easy to pick up and use. I would say more powerful than Paint.net.

    Hello, thank you for your great content. I wanted to know if it’s possible to add an animated drawing to a picture ? For example a picture of a vase without flowers. I’d like to add flowers in it and animate the flowers. Is that possible ? How do you call this technique please ? Thank you !

    • @JohnDayQA
      @JohnDayQA  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most certainly. You will need at least three images for a better effect, and arranged on the canvas in the following order
      1: Picture of the vase and the background scenery (this will be at the bottom of the image stack).
      2: The flowers, which you will animate in Doodly with paths
      3: a Copy of the front rim of the vase and anything in front of or seeming to be obscuring the flowers. This will give the effect the flowers are actually "inside" the vase. This will be stacked on top of the other images.
      The first and 3rd image will appear with zero animation so they are onscreen immediately. Image 2 will contain all your animation.

    Could I get some advice, please? When transferring your completed Images to Doodley. Doodley mentions that your images are 1920 does this suggest there is to much detail? How do I fix this issue? Could you, Please Help?

    • @JohnDayQA
      @JohnDayQA  ปีที่แล้ว

      So the image is one ratio (1920 x 1080) but your video settings are probably in another ratio. You can either change the video to match the image. Otherwise the image quality will be lowered to that of the video settings.

    I followed you step by step on my computer, You imported 2 photos to Doodly, but when you were adding scenes you had three photos in Props that you used. I didn't see the step of the third photo added. Please clarify if you are so inclined. Thanks

    • @JohnDayQA
      @JohnDayQA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The third you spotted was a backup copy of the image which I always tend to do in case the first one causes issues in Doodly. There was a fourth (backup of the other image) but it was way down the list of images offscreen. I never mentioned these backups nor refer to them in my video, therefore you should ignore them. kind of like if I demonstrated how to upload a file in my documents to the cloud, you don't need to worry every other file in my documents, just the ones in demonstration.

    Dear John can we do this by standard plan of doodly ??

    • @JohnDayQA
      @JohnDayQA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes you can. The enterprise and other additions are mainly about the additional assets (images, media) including color assets. , The Doodly app functionality is no different from one edition to the next.

    How long did it take to prepare the photo to drawing animation video?

    • @JohnDayQA

      About 3 minutes in Paint.net making a photo look etched in colour, but the custom Doodly animation took 3 hours.

    Thank you for this video. What other free app will you recommend for Mac as an alternative for Paint?

    • @JohnDayQA
      @JohnDayQA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not a strong mac user but besides Gimp being available for macOS, mac's own Paintbrush is very effective (www.macupdate.com/app/mac/25050/paintbrush), but when I saw "Seashore" I found it to be an excellent app for free (www.macupdate.com/app/mac/15662/seashore)
      But get expert advice from a mac person. 😁
