Palghar airport would be amazing. Maybe even Gorai. But all these airports without rail connectivity is bad. HSR or Rapid rail connectivity from airport to main centre of the city is essential
I think they will not make a 4th airport in Mumbai they will plan in new cities which are coming as satellites for mumbai. Don't forget that the government has promised to double infrastructure spending in upcoming years. More new expressways are going to come from 2025 as part of 50k km expressway plan.

Such a connection will increase utility of both airports and solve unnecessary road traffic between the two airports
I think metro line 8 will help that to some extent as their will be only 5 station on this corridor and the avg speed is also expected to be 90km/hr as compared to 35km/hr on regular metro.

The distance between 2 terminals is 4 km so how come passenger will handle ¿? One of them should be domestic and other should be international. So no confusion will be there.

It isn't possible, as it is in middle of the city, and to clear the area around it would be too expensive and would cause delay due to court cases and many legal constraints

There is no space to make parallel runways, that is why Navi Mumbai airport is being built at first place, and because CSMIA is in middle of city, it is easy to reach for domestic flights, but for international flights you go out of city, that is similar to many cities like Moscow, London etc, in London the Heathrow airport served major international traffic, whereas the Gatwick airport served domestic traffic...

What 3rd Airport ? Navi Mumbai will be only the 2nd airport. Yes after its cinstruction of the last phase is over, a 3rd airport will be needed. Ideal place will be gorai or palghar. It will have coastal road connectivity. But the state govt should give a massive push for it.

Santacruz airport is in the middle of the city. Why to use it as a civilian airport. If it has to be demolished, use it as a small defence airport and use the excess land if available , for low height buildings. The money for rebuild of Santacruz should be used for extending the Navi Mumbai airport and quickly building the metro to it.
