Thank you so much for this vid, I have been looking for and how to do magnetic cases and you have now given me the answer. Thank you so so much. Very helpful
I love Warmag, I’ve been using them ever since I saw IDICbeer’s recommendation for them. They also do different coloured boxes, which yes, are a bit pricey but if like me you like everything organised and each army colour coded it’s worth it! Also, top tip: don’t throw away the magnetic sheets once you’ve used all the circles. The in between bits can be used for larger models and it works perfectly. Also Warmag are a very friendly family run business, who have snuck in a couple of bonus items in my orders as gifts! Great company 👍
Big fan of this system but still use magnets on the bases. I'm just a bit wary of bases that have bobbly bits underneath and the sticker magnets wouldn't sit flush. Interested on your thoughts on that? Great video always enjoy your content. Happy hobbying.
I use the magnets with the foam backing. They are top notch. Work perfectly in my metal tray carry case i got off of amazon for £40. The case folds my 1500pt votann army with space to spare. I cant recommend the warmag magnets enough. 10/10
I got you saying 9lt size but aren't they 4lt?? The double height one is 9lt. Also here in Ireland sometimes they're in Mr. Price at knock down price (sorry?). It's a great idea, I'll be buying into those magnetic sheets
This video was timed perfectly, was just thinking I need to store my models more efficiently. Currently storing them in the foam I use for the travel cases, but now my armies getting bigger that's becoming untenable. Thanks!
You've sold it to me! - your editor made this the most enjoyable and wholesome video i've seen for a while! Though, is there room for the peg holes on Bloodbowl / Skaven tide bases?
Will pass that on thank you! If I was using bases like those ones with the magnets, I'd probably just cut them to fit either side! You don't need the full base magnetised, they're strong enough!
Great idea. I am more partial to the Sterilite equivalent which is easier and cheaper to get in the U.S. I wonder if Warmag might do magnet sets and bottom sheets for the Sterilite sized containers?
I just used a piece of roof flashing from the hardware store. One roll cost like $20 and has enough metal to do about 10 boxes. The connection is also stronger than magnet stickers
If you cut and add a strip of magnetic mat to the inside sides of your box you will be able to put taller models in the same box as the others. Then just stick them to the sides. Meaning you can keep all your models together 👍
This is great. Now please YT comments or MH, is there a bag that would fit these boxes perfectly? I have been looking for a bag that these fit snuggly in and I am at a loss? Size 15"x10'" or 39.9cm x 25.5cm.
I put my Pegasus Knights on wood dowels of varying heights so that they can rank up, but storing them will be a pain. The idea of a simple magnetized box is certainly appealing.
I just got the four pack of the 4L and a 9L from amazon and went to Warmag's website with a sheet of magnets for the 32 and 40 mm bases and some sheets for the USA cuts for all five and I just realized I should have gotten more sheets for the magnets haha
You can get the heavy duty magnet sheets. A lot stronger than the others. Litko makes it. Also use the n52 rare earth magnets. You can tip that box upside down and they won’t move. My only issue with the 4L boxes is that banners are a pain
I get around the banner issue bu buying an extra sheet, cutting it up and mounting it to the sides of the box, that way you can have taller miniatures on the sides and smaller in the middle :)
I have the poor man's version, galvanized steel, and double-sided tape. Don't gotta pay international shipping that way, but the warmag stuff always looks cool
Will have to look into these sheets for legions imperialis - seems it would add 2.5mm to the overall base height (assuming there is not enough room to fit the magnet inside the rim under the base given they are so shallow) but that might not be too bad
@@MediocreHobbies My magnets arrived today and the 22.5mm fit within the base rim perfectly but do raise the mini up by 1 - 1.5mm. So that might bother some people but I think its ok especially looking down from a normal tabletop perspective.
The video did not address how this system would work for dreadnoughts or tanks with no base. I assume for large based models you would use several of the magnet disks. But how would it work for something like a land raider?
I love products like this. Problem is after shipping for just the magnetic sheets, not the base magnets to outfit the 5 boxes I already have would be $226 CAD. I can order a dedicated case for less than that with an extra 5 trays to swap in and out bringing it up to about the same cost.
@@MediocreHobbieshey is there an issue with putting the base magnets into the base and it not being flush due to that slit where you push the mini in that sticks out from the underside of the base? Or is that the contact point for the magnet?
War mag isn’t shipping to the states. I bought before. Emailed them twice for a response. Said they’d resume in August. Still can’t complete purchase 🤷♂️
Question, I have a jucoci carrying case with the metal trays. Do you think those base magnets will stick to that? I'm thinking of buying these boxes for storage!
I was interested in these but was hesitant because some/many bases on the underside are not "flush" flat because of sculpted bases or easy fit slots (I forget the exact terminology). Whats Warmags solution to this?
I was thinking the same for my old Beastmen (and others) on slotted bases...probably just need to cut to fit. Large models like cavalry or monsters would probably need a a couple (looking at the Hexwraiths for my Nighthaunt). For MDF or resin bases, I use 1/8" x 1/8" or 1/8" x 1/4" for most models (U.S. so sue me hehe)
::first three seconds of me watching this:: What's the deal with the sticker on the shirt? Sponsored video? Eh, no biggie. I used to use sheet metal as I didn't like the magnetic sheet (both needed to be cut down or otherwise modified) but this does look like a good solution. The magnetic bases remind me of the stuff from Crystal Fortress but I've found that the green stuff/magnet works better for me because I have a ton of older models on slotted bases, but this is great for newer bases/models. From what I see from their website, I should be able to cut these to fit for slotted bases. If you have larger models like cavalry or monsters, one or two of the 20mm inside diameter ones should work. I've been basing stuff on MDF bases as they're inexpensive, easily found on Etsy, are easier to pick up than angled bases and fit nicely in movement trays. A fine option as I already have a bunch of the Really Useful boxes and a bunch of poor Necrons, Nighthaunt and Beastmen (GW better bring these guys back in AoS!).
Question: how well do the Warmag magnets work with white metal models? already have some really useful boxes with mag sheets like your previous ones for my ork army, but my grey knights are a combo of old metal models and current plastic ones and store them in a foam case. So wondering how the Warmag magnets work on metal space marines.
It would be really nice if a company in the US would start selling this stuff. It’s been a few years but the last time I looked for magnetic sheeting it was prohibitively expensive.
Do they fit the inside of the lid as well? Would like to use the boxes sort of inverted, with the lid doubling as a transport tray, but warmag answered none of my messages 😢
Ye same. I’m not good with like numbers and strengths of magnets and all that. So nice that they just did it for us. Nuts but sheet and guaranteed it works.

@@MediocreHobbies I'm currently looking! :D The 9L box seems big enough for most infantry and cavalry. And the 19L box has the same dimensions but is taller so it's good for transporting monsters. Do you reckon 1x 9L and 1x 19L box are enough to transport a typical 2000p army?

Love what Warmag are doing, making life easy. Sizing the magnets to fit inside the mini bases is a huge timesaver.
For sure worth it.
I have been making and using this type of case since your last video, but this does look like a fair time saver.
One of the best purchases I’ve ever made for my models! Agree about buying the cases separately but Warmag sheets and base magnets are 11/10!!
Glad you agree.
Love those magnets for the bases! Gotta be more cost effective than superglue and no more sticking my fingers together or messing with milliput!
So many fingerprints have been lost to gluing magnets 😅
