      Possibly but I doubt that NK would want them back, because...
      A) More mouths to feed.
      B) The regime probably thinks it could cultivate them as spies in a potential conflict in the future.
      (In which case, they're better positioned to serve that function by staying where they are now rather than trying to sneak back in later.)
      C) Despite supporting Japanese-Koreans abroad, Japanese-Koreans are actually treated as undesirable second-class citizens within North Korea itself.
      (NK considers them to be too hopelessly "contaminated" by Japanese culture and thus not "true Koreans.")
      Kim Jong Un's mother Ko Yong-hui was actually a Japanese-Korean and not native-born. And yet this simple fact is such a highly guarded state-secret in North Korea (because it calls into question the "purity" of the Kim Family bloodline) that other high ranking officials who knew of KJU's lineage have all been exiled or killed.

      Chongryon runs these schools and pachinko parlors. Chongryon's power has risen and fallen in parallel with the North's prosperity, especially in relation to the South and Chongryon's counterpart Mindan, which also runs schools. The DPRK used to give the Chongryon schools money but don't anymore due to UN sanctions put in place in 2013.
      And though they're only a de facto embassy, much like the DPRK's real embassies, Chongryon officials have done crimes.

Nigeria has a population of 200m and you base the interest of one person and his group as a sample size or representative of 200 million Nigerians? A simple Q&A of Abuja residents alone will show they have no opinion on DPRK.There is nothing wrong with Alhassan following his passion on DPRk and Juche Ideology, but the statements by him and the presenter are just too spurious.

      here is a question that goes to the very heart of those who still support the North Korean regime in Japan and that is if the Korean peninsula is unified, under which system would it be unified as in the South Korean model or the North Korean one? I will bet you they won't answer because in their heart of hearts, they clearly know what the real deal is, and it will never be under the N. Korean model and the Kim's dictatorial regime ... so it's not all that nuanced in actual reality but pretty much black and white ... but they just can't say it "to spite the hands that feed them"!

I am believing that almost every south korean would not acknowledge about this fact that North Korea has helped out Koreans in japan in educating them about DPRK communism........ This is heart breaking and a shock . South Koreans are truly living in a different world than THose koreans in Japan and North Korea....... It doesn't really target all Koreans living in Japan. Koreans in Japan chose citizenship after the war, the majority chose South Korean citizenship, but a smaller number chose North Korean citizenship. Many of those who chose North Korea also moved there. From 1959 to the early 1980s, 93,340 individuals-approximately 6,500 Japanese and 87,000 Koreans-migrated from Japan to North Korea as part of a postcolonial repatriation project. So it's not like the entire Korean community in Japan is brainwashed and attends communist schools, it's just a minority that have North Korean citizenship.

The only reason north korea hasn't had a golden age since pre 1930s is because after the Japanese occupation the west and soviets used north and south as pawns on a chess board. > 'Juche' posits that a country will prosper once it has become self-reliant by achieving political, economic, and military independence
    It seems a bit hypocritical for a country to use international trade and international study to create and grow their society. Would North Korea have nuclear capabilities without copying the notes of other countries? Would the country be able to stand on it's own without trade with China or Africa? Self reliance is a great motivation, but it seems hypocritical.

    • @CytotoxinK
      @CytotoxinK 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      North Korea has never attained nor even seriously attempted self-reliance.
      (It's a country that's only slightly larger than Pennsylvania and yet has barely any arable land and _no oil!_ How could it possibly ever become self-reliant?!)
      North Korea has survived exclusively on foreign aid since Day One of its existence. Their claims of self-reliance are just empty propaganda for their own citizenry (because they're too embarrassed and ashamed to admit to their own people that they often have to beg, or sometimes threaten, the outside world for help).
      Think of all the "self-made people" out there who _actually_ got to where they were because of inheritances or handouts from the government.
      North Korea is like that, but on the scale of an entire country instead of just one narcissistic individual.

    • @willdazey7368
      @willdazey7368 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CytotoxinK to be fair, "self reliant" and "world power" are not synonymous. North Korea could be self reliant without oil. It wouldn't be a world power or have the best industry... but they could be a collective of poor farmers that are entirely self reliant.
      And I think that's what North Korea WANTS ppl to think they are. Yet they insist on adopting military weapons from other countries, and technology from other countries, and agriculture from other countries. They do this through trade! International trade is directly counter to Juche!

      They're free to interact with North Korea, but they're not free to access the US economy or financial system at will; that is a privilege the US grants to them at its own discretion.
      (Every country has a sovereign right to determine who interacts with its industries and merchants, who is able to transact on their territory or through their own financial institutions and vice versa.)
      If people in other countries want to do business with North Korea, then that is they're right, but the US has a right to prevent its own businesses from dealing with them afterwards.
      At which point, it becomes a financial/economic question; who is the more valuable customer or supplier?

    As a Chinese I have much respect for the Korean people and their courage in the face of imperialism. During the era of Japanese imperialism, Korean nationalists were some of the bravest opponents of Japanese fascism and colonialism. Today, North Korea stands steadfast in the defense of the nation in the face of American imperialism. I hope the Korean people will be able to reunify their nation and have the freedom of self-determination, free from imperialist control, just as we Chinese did so in the 20th century.
