The father and son interview comes as Nick Blackwell remains in an induced coma after Saturday's title fight against Eubank Jnr. The Boxing authorities say they're satisfied with the way the fight was handled.

That being said, I confess to having a lot more time for Chris Eubank snr than for just about anyone else paid to comment on boxing. He has principles, he is obliging his son to in general live with principles and, in particular, to box with principles. We have also encountered problems of barely disguised racism, (Chris is the black father in a domino couple, and I am the white father in a domino couple. When Chris is being interviewed by pumped-up, over-educated wise-guys I sometimes see the dark shadow that from time to time crosses my face cross Chris's.
If I had used the very bad language used by some commenters (who, maybe, want to show the world that they put one over on a very classy guy), within earshot of my trainer, (I had a very, very minor amateur career as a middleweight), he would have decked me without warning. And I would have been really humiliated, by myself, if I didn't take that one without retaliation, and without resentment. Don't swear, you tarnish your own personality, you are telling the world you cannot even express yourself decently

Do you have a version of that which makes sense? I know who I am, I know what I know, and often enjoy finding that there are things I do not know, as they are always opportunities to learn something. I don't mind contradiction, I don't mind what people who know me think of me, always a good opportunity to try to improve, and I think nothing of the opinions of people who do not know me. If you can't deal with that: tough!
And when you resort to bad language you tell people things about you you might prefer to keep to yourself, but, as bad language is a sign of a weak personality, that is what you do. The more you use bad language, the more you tell people you are weak. My guys used to tell their mates that they knew when we were in trouble, because I would talk more and more quietly and politely. In four years I had zero guys killed, and zero disabling injuries, (that was before IEDs became a menace). It only ended when I got run over by a truck while off duty.
You cannot impress me so don't make yourself look silly by trying to.
Nick Blackwell is still in a coma and what that interviewer asked Chris Eubank Junior was a disgrace. It was a stupid and ignorant and very disrespectful question to ask. Boxers should be interviewed by people who have some knowledge of boxing, not idiots like that.
The final two questions were probably the most insulting that could have been asked to Eubank Snr and then Eubank Jnr. Childish.

It won't change until their editor is removed from post. He has turned a serious and respected journalistic operation into a pantomime in which any guest invited onto the show is poked and taunted in the hope an argument breaks out. This is no longer about getting to the truth but rather "getting to the fight" with nothing but higher ratings in mind. Check out the Richard Dawkins or Tarantino interviews for classic examples of this interviewee baiting tactic.

What a noble gentleman to teach his son not to inflict needless, perhaps permanent damage to his opponents if avoidable. Only great boxers know how to win a fight by punching to the body while just making points to the face. All my respect to Mr Eubank Sr & Jr.

I think what Eubank Senior did was incredible, he saved a young mans life by telling his own son to aim for the body. This reporter is asking stupid questions obviously in a normal situation chris would tell his son to aim for the head because all boxers do that but in this situation where the opponent was severely hurt he told his son to lay off the head shots.

Eubank Sr guided his son to victory, possibly saved the life of Blackwell, and is now dealing deftly with a complete and utter knob in an interview. This guy is a legend. Pure class.
I agree with this with the exception of saving Nick Blackwell's life. Eubank Sr's guidance was not out of compassion (for Blackwell) but to win the fight.

Eubank is very eloquent and gentlemanly in his handling of this interview. The interviewer was atrocious. Chris telling his son to not hit in the head if there is no need to is absolutely brilliant, professional and very humane. Junior too is very good and respects his dad a lot and rightly so.
The last question is the stupidest thing you can ask any athlete in combat sports. Horse shit journalism, and proves he knows nothing about the sport and should stick to only interviewing actors and politicians.

The Eubanks conducted themselves well here and kept pretty composed, considering some of the questions that were thrown at them.

Chris Eubank is a tremendously intelligent person, I watched a previous interview of him and searched for him simply because of how well he answered questions in a previous interview.
The ending was terrible. As If he's never watched a boxing match or doesn't know what these fighters go through. It's not a bollywood movie!!!

Chris Eubank did a noble thing to even suggest Jnr to stop hitting him on the head and hit the body instead, good sportmanship, he should be commended not cornered into or dictated in a interview to discredit or downplay thier ethics. Disgraceful questions of poor taste, absolutely cringeworty interview to watch.

I dont think the journalist was waaay off ball. I think he was trying to gauge whether his sense of morality would ever override his desire to win. It's an interesting question that reveals the mind of an athlete
As many have stated - where the hell was the sense of morality in Blackwell's corner? Eubank would have pulled his son out by the sixth round of his boy was getting beaten like that. The relationship between trainer and boxer is one based on a far greater trust than that of even a civil union/marriage. You are trusting your trainer with your very life, if they do not act accordingly you could end up in serious danger... Unfortunately this happened last weekend. As I said earlier - The Eubanks held back on Blackwell and at this point saved the guys life. Don't forget that Blackwell was still walking Eubank down and trying to score s knockdown mere moments before his collapse. The greed, egoism, naivety and lack of care for Blackwell from his corner was shocking - this is where the real questions need to be asked. Eubanks were clearly just trying to promote themselves and unwittingly signed up to be witch hunter.

In reaching down to our deepest levels of human instincts and human nature, boxing is one man pitting his strengths of his very soul and inner being against that of an opponent. It's exterior may be violent and even sometimes dangerous, but it is the most sincere form of human contest. Most of the time after a fight all your instincts want to do is hug the opponent. Even if you have beat the shit out of him, you have a profound respect for him. Some people will never understand that. Yes it is a bit barbaric but here's a bit of news for you. Suppression of one side of our yin yang nature isn't healthy. It's why people get stabbed for not indicating at a traffic light. Most boxers are gentlemen outside the ring. Here are two prime examples of that. The same could not be said about the interviewer.

Eubanks is the master. I always following him like a hawk back In the day. Those Simply the best entrances to the ring. I trained local in a gym with a boxer. Saw him in Dubai when piping in the new year at the Burj. This guys great, and he held Nick to account for his questioning! Go Eubanks Junior and Senior!
