for burger dawn you could also make the title itself the 'patty', with the top bun and bottom bun above and below the title respectively, that'll also make it look a bit more playful

The burger dawn design almost reminds me more of an egg. Especially with the sunny theme which accentuates that even further
Could've just image traced the first logo
Yeah that's what i was thinking the whole time.
Image trace adds a lot of unnecessary anchor points that he would have to clean up. For the sake of quick edits messing with the font is easier

I feel like the burger dawn logo could have had more of a rectangular bottom bun (with rounded corners). Or lozenge shaped even. Also, I would have just traced the bird in the first one, a rushed trace to fix line width would have still been an improvement in my opinion 😊

That's neat. At first Will's redesign was starting to look like Walmart, but both are very unique, and I honestly shift towards the redesign. The original reminds me of a shell logo for maybe a corner store or a gas station. Either way, the idea is pretty cool.

For color pallets the color cube is amazing as well
In this case you should have added more ridges to the wavy line so that overall it looked straighter, less ridges accentuates the waves and in this case looks weird. Also flattening the burger a bit more would help sooth the translation a little better, but overall good arrangement.
to edit the parrot icon further you can select the raster image and hit image trace on the top bar and choose either high quality or black and white, but make sure you have the original color saved so that you could recolor it with your eye dropper. onced image trace is done, hit expand in the top bar again making it into separate vector/shapes that you can edit. We do want the white background be deleted, so just select anywhere on the background with direct selection tool and hit delete. now for the eyes you can just remove and replace it with any shape you desire you can also select the other parts and edit it's corners to make it less edgy. if I can comment this in few words then maybe you can do it faster in AI.
Hey Will, I have been doing some logo design using the free version of sketchbook. Just recently I saw one of your videos on the free Vectornator. It is making a world of difference even though the learning curve has taken its toll on me. Finally found out that if I send as an SVG file, it actually holds its shape. Just trying to make it usable so I can send it out to make t-shirts or banners or whatever. Hell, lm not even sure it’s fully vectored😂. If you could help me out, maybe a good tutorial for Vectornator or just let me know if sending as an SVG file will work thanks
Bottom bun can be a combination of a wave and a rounded rectangle or can be just a rounded rectangle.

Not an designer, but on the Burger Dawn one, I would have done a half burger with the rays like it's coming up from the horizon.

The burger dawn could be better on both sides, if you take your icon and put the typeface in the middle so it symbols the meat piece.
And some more Time on the icon so the burger and wave line up better.
The parrot's tail was actually the scalpel blade tip (that makes surgical stub incisions) if you noticed. Great redesigns😃
I think the tail of the bird is also part of the A from the first font

I did a desk set-up video earlier this year, that might help? Currently I've got two 'sets' for filming at the studio and swap between them :)

You could have used image trace as a black & white logo, then if there were too many anchor point u could right click and press simplify
Tried that, looked awful so cut it and decided to use just the normal image.

8:21 looks like the sun is rising. Fits well with the dawn in the name. Well now it looks like a broken egg.
I think the half of the burger would work better, as the dawn at a sea and burger has a flat down bun.

The first logo of burger was meaningful. It has the meaningful symbol of dawn and burger. Your's was like the rise of burger. beside it is a litttttle bit over designed.

I think if you had added sesame seeds and made the buns a little flatter, it would’ve looked better. I also would’ve had the rays just on the top bun not all the way around.
Small details isn't pro in a logo
what I would do is flatten the bottom bun to make it look like a burger it kinda looks like an egg now

It looks like a falcon or owl not a parrot. you nice work with the burger but it's more like sun than dawn
What really bothered me is that you rotated the company name at 2:39 and it stayed tilted till the end. Great work btw!

Bottom bun of the burger is flat lol, not round. Otherwise the burger would roll away.

Burger dawn, in the original, what i saw are burger, lettuce, tomato, and the sun. Your design looks balanced, but maybe not 'dawn' maybe that's why original made it halfway.;
I saw the sun part of the old one, but not the burger part. I don't mind the changes he did. If for some reason the half part need to stay, I would made the half shape a sesame bun instead to simplify.

burger buns are flat on the bottom.
I just want to say, both for you and your advertisers, that some of your users use Android phones and even *gasp* Chromebooks. Yes, that's right.
So would you future advertisers who make useful design tools for other platforms, and would these advertisers please consider us as well?
Thanks for the feedback, we don't only choose advertisers who are marketed towards Apple, but as I don't use an Android phone or have a chromebook etc it's a bit difficult as I don't promote products and apps etc that I haven't used myself, I understand that can be frustrating though if they also don't cater to non-Apple users, but hopefully this gives a bit of an explanation :)
