Taliban: Religious leaders have issues with girls schools - BBC News

  • It's been one year since the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan. The country is facing a severe economic and humanitarian crisis, and there are growing security concerns.
The US claimed two weeks ago that it killed Al Qaeda’s chief Ayman Al Zawahiri in Kabul.
But one of the most significant issues in an Afghanistan under the Taliban is that girls are barred from secondary schools in most parts of the country.
Our South Asia correspondent Yogita Limaye spoke to Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Taliban government.

Two the Taliban know that development/education undermines their religious stances as it makes people more critical as thinkers who will question the way they do things - particularly women who will be fed up of being treated like second class citizens. The issue is that the definition behind those words can differ in perspective based on how conservative they are. Education can span from primary to tertiary and some may think tertiary education is unnecessary given their assumption of the conservative roles of women. Lets have a look on opinion of prophet about women he is clearly calling them half minded and deficient and also seeing menstruation as some sin commited by women which leads to deficiencies . Hats off to all the muslim ladies are still in this cult after knowing all these things... Sahih al-Bukhari 304
      Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:
Once Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) went out to the Musalla (to offer the prayer) of `Id-al-Adha or Al-Fitr prayer. Then he passed by the women and said, "O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-fire were you (women)." They asked, "Why is it so, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ?" He replied, "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you. A cautious sensible man could be led astray by some of you." The women asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?" He said, "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her intelligence. Isn't it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses?" The women replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her religion."

It is way to unsafe to even question them in the question of 'opening' schools. There have been a 'chain' of 'carbombs' detonated near schoolchildren and it is yet to conclude if this is 'on purpose' or by accidental discharging from screaming young women and or 'making contact' whereas it occurs quite often having a 'discharge' from rubbing a balloon against hair, wool and such.
Also facial recognition software left behind by the Americans and access through relays will solve this problem.
There was a carbomb near the Kabul Airport that detonated in a such way.

So the girls not going to school should also starve because you refuse to send humanitarian aid?
The government in Venezuela is corrupt and the people suffer. So you put sanctions on almost every single one of its industries so that the people can suffer some more?
Should teenage-Paralympic athletes from Russia who couldn´t even vote for or against Putin be sanctioned from competing in sports events because of what their government does?

Also who are those "scholars" that he mentioned because as a Muslim myself I don't think that he should believe those scholars over the literal teachings of prophet Muhammad (pbuh) because many of them interpret the qur'an and hadith as they like to support their political views and their kings which happened many times in history of Islam and other religions and that's probably what the Taliban is doing so they can rule over people with power and use religion as an excuse.

It's not a guise, that's how the situation is in Afghanistan. And forget about this small issue of girl's education, we should be talking about 20 yrs of war that the US-led West has waged against the innocent people of Afghanistan. Bombing residential areas indiscriminately. Targeted killings of hundreds of Afghans simply on suspicion. Invading and occupying their land. Oppressing and suppressing them. Stealing of their resources. Running a global drug cartel from Kabul. Imprisoning thousands without any charges. Many innocent Afghans are languishing in US run prisons like the Guantanamo. Freezing of Afghanistan's assets which is nothing but making civilians' life hell. Economic sanctions. And the list goes on and on. And the Western media's constant demonization of the Taliban as the bad guys is a master concealment of the truth and misguidance of their own citizens. These same people were hailed as Mujahideen (Holy Warriors) by the West when they were fighting Russia. At that time, the West never talked about girl's education or other such things. If a man gets sick he needs to go to the doctors. If there are no doctors because noone had education, what will happen to the man? If a women is sick and has to go to the doctors what will happen to her. When people get extremely sick they stay in hospitals and it would be better if a male has a male nurse to bath or check him and it would be better for female nurse to bath and check a female patient. Engineers are important to make homes, roads, bridges, medical supply, etc. So these are just few examples, on why both girls and boys need education.

They need George Bush and Obama to fund the girl school. Send the Taliban to Guyana. Guyana has about 50% of Taliban families.

There was a news conference held by Mujahid not long after Taliban manage to grip power; One years after, he looks much more weary and tired.
Internal feud among different cliques, despite invisible to public, must be very intense. Mujahid, who represents more liberal-stance groups, seems losing support after international society remaining indifferent to Taliban.

It's crazy to think that he is liberal..no amount of liberalism will amount to something worthy in an Afghan context. This is a deeply religious, indoctrinated and uneducated society full of myth & superstition. It'll be eons before a country like that ever advances.
