This is specifically Heishin 2, which means that he was at the 4th-to-last duel in the game, preceding Seto 3, DarkNite and Nitemare The way that drawing cards works in the game is that your opponent doesn't have a physical deck they pull from, they have a pool of cards that they can draw during the duel and all the cards they can use have odds out of 2048 to be drawn All 5 pieces of Exodia in Heishin 2 are a 64/2048, or a 3.125% Chance of drawing ONE of them, so the odds of Heishin drawing all 5 pieces of Exodia during the duel is (64/2048)^5, that is roughly a 1/33,554,432 chance At those odds, you are nearly 2200 TIMES more likely to be struck by lightning

you just gotta love that someone created a card game and decided "You know what, let's put in a combination of card that'll give you an insta win no matter what. You don't even have to place those cards, you just gotta have them in your hand."

Well, the thing you have to keep in mind is, speed runs don't happen in a vacuum. Yes, things like this are vanishingly unlikely on paper, but when you play the same game hundreds, even thousands of times, you're running out the odds. Anything that can happen will happen given enough time.
I remember back i was watching this stream, got inspired to play this myself so I got my copy out and started playing while I had this going in the background. I win the first duel in the game and I actually got Exodia's Right Arm as a prize card, and as I'm looking up the odds of getting the other pieces as prize cards I hear "No! I just got exodiad!" Maybe Heishin didn't had any exodia cards until he used Raigeki against him, the AI gone mad about it and thought: "Game Over for you", then he transformed all it's cards to the 5 pieces of Exodia to win the duel

Only Heishin, Heishin 2nd and Simon Muran are capable of doing that to you. Yes, Simon, imagine getting Exodia'd at the start of your very first duel in the game xd
"I didn't even know Heishin had those cards!"
