Ken Block Joins Audi! And Gets The Ultimate Welcoming

- I am excited to announce that I have teamed up with Audi on an electrifying new partnership, which will include expanding the Gymkhana franchise to include a new installment starring a very top secret Audi e-tron. The film, dubbed Electrikhana, is scheduled to release in 2022. This union will also see me exploring Audi’s cutting-edge racing and EV technologies, plus serve as a catalyst to push the limits of what’s possible in an electric vehicle. This partnership is literally a dream decades in the making.
Audi’s efforts in the WRC, specifically with their Group B cars, along with their wins at Pikes Peak in the 1980’s is what led me down the path to become a rally driver. Their Quattro system pioneered the AWD car revolution and forever changed the sport of rally, and now I’m getting a chance to be a part of their next leap in motorsports with electric performance. It’s quite an honor, and humbling, to now consider myself a part of a team that I have highly respected for so long. And I can’t wait to share more details on the vehicle Audi is building for Electrikhana, it’s going to be insane.
To lead off the new relationship, I recently traveled to Audi’s home in Ingolstadt, Germany to emerge in all things Four Rings. This trip is documented in a three-part series, the first episode of explores the influence, heritage, and the future of the automobile manufacturer in racing. I got to sample an arsenal from Audi’s current line up including the new ridiculous fast, Audi RS e-tron GT as well as the Audi e-tron Vision GT concept car. But while the partnership looks to the future of performance, I wasn’t going to miss out on an opportunity to drive some iconic machines from the past, including Hans Stuck’s championship winning DTM Audi V8 and Walter Röhrl’s legendary Group B Audi Quattro S1 E2. In addition, I got an intimate look at Audi’s all new Dakar-racecar, the RS Q e-tron racer that will be reimagining the way people view electrification in long distance, endurance racing. All of which can be seen in the coming episodes.
And to answer the question on everyone’s minds: why the switch to electrified vehicles? For me, it’s simple really: It’s new. It’s high level performance. It’s the future. And new technology and forward thinking - the things Audi is great at - can be used to have even more fun with cars, and I am all about that.

I laugh so hard every time I see that Audi RS 002 🤣, which isn’t often because of its rarity. It looks like something Mickey Mouse would drive but has about 700bhp, it’s insane, I am so disappointed Group S never happened 😭

ive owned about 22 of the audi ur quattros in my life time. hearing the little buzzer go off going around the corner made my heart warm. glad other people get to experience the same fun that i do.

He isn't an Audi racing team driver. He is basically being paid to drive around in Audi cars. When you are a Team driver, you do all the events that Audi want you to do. Ken does what we wants and just has to do it in Audi's. Sweet deal

This collaboration truly takes Ken where he deserves to be, from a national treasure here in the US but now with a respected international company with cutting-edge products where he can shine in both rally and team-based road racing in America and Europe. Audi needs a brand ambassador for their younger demographic and Ken can be that. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Ken! Congratulations!!

I remember seeing motor cross at Cadwell Park in the late 1080's the line up was...Ford RS200, Metro 6R4 at the front. Audi Quattro at the back, race starts and by the first corner the Audi was leading...that was me hooked in Audi..Great video guys.

Seeing El Gigante in a Peel P50 wasn't something I expected to see. Just like Ken, the first time I ever saw a rally video with the Quattro I was in love. It spurred on my love for Group B and other rally cars like the Renault R5 Turbo, Renault Alpine A110 and Peugeot 205 T16. Seeing an Ur Quattro in real life would be a dream come true because to me, when someone says "rally car" that's the first thing I think of because it kicked ass and pulled no punches. I have three Lego Quattros and three Hot Wheels Quattros to match.

DUDE I KNEW IT!!! Hell yes!!! Those early gymkhana films are the reason I got into cars and I've always loved Audi's cars, plus they have such an incredible racing pedigree. He's a perfect fit for them and I can't wait to see what insane cars come from this!

I’m South African, and we had that commercial, but the one that aired here, ended with this Audi driving on a frozen lake, with rims ONLY. I can’t remember much other than the narrator was like “Quattro”, and I was like “idk what that means, but I LOVE it” 🤣And I was just 6 at the time 🤯. And then the S1 Pikes Peak cemented my eternal love for Audi 👍🏼👊🏽 And my profile pic is testimony to that “Pyxe” different spelling, but same pronunciation
My first Audi love was a 1987 GT. It was red. A neighbor had it and I thought it was the most beautiful car I had ever seen I was 11 at the time. Still love audi to this day.

I love taking my son's 2016 A3 quattro and running around some our tight mountain roads.

I was given my dad's old '82 Audi Coupe in high school. It had no power, no quattro, but it still looked a lot like the later sport quattro's I fantasized about. That car, and learning about 80s Group-B Rally is what made me fall in love with cars, specifically rally cars and all-wheel-drive. Today I drive Subarus, because they are just more accessible, but if I was rich my collection would definitely need to include an old Sport Quattro (and if I was really rich, a couple classic Lancias as well).
