Great video as always! Absolutely stunning matrix opal. This is the first time I've heard of Louisiana opal. I love learning about the different opals out there. Going to have to find some for my collection.
Thanks for the laughs! I needed that today! I always enjoy your videos. Knowledge with a good mix of humor and cat action. Thanks again and keep doing what you do!
So many things I could say but if I’m being honest, I cherish your videos so much. You’re very talented and I can tell you are passionate about your craft. I’ve learned so much from you. It’s very enlightening, and I have found myself lately having thoughts of how sad I will be when you pass away and the videos will stop. I don’t mean to be a buzz killer, but - it will happen. I’d greatly appreciate a piece of your work, I would cherish it truly. Thank you for the educational videos!
I also think it will be, but I don’t have any known fatal conditions. I can’t promise that I will continue to do as many videos, but If I live until the average of my parents ages, I’ve got 20 something years, so let’s see, that’s over 350 videos. I appreciate your nice comment. Truly, if you see me drop down, it will be because my wife bitches at me until I can’t take it anymore. dp
I'm in Slidell...still don't own a piece of Louisiana opal...which drives me lol...but since the catahoula formation was shut down to grow timber the price has constantly increased and I just haven't been able to acquire any...yet😂... great video as always... thanks for all you do for us opalholics!
Well, stupendous, at this point, is an understatement! Damn that came out very nice! I agree, it looks as good as real black opal. Cant wait to see the cabs you make from it!
Louisiana Opal...I had no idea. I feel like I am always learning stuff around here. Been loving all these informative videos! That matrix opal turned out awesome by the way, just wow. Thank you once again for sharing, and for indulging us the that satisfying flint knapping (opal knapping?) pop pop pop!
welcome back colonel, you were missed. oh new orleans? why does january 8 come to my mind? oh a civil war reference while watching opal vids? yes, it is true, i am not like the others. a slight bit of academic pollution but as you have noted stoli might be helpful. best roger
I love watching you work your magic with all the different opals. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and processes. I would love to get the little pieces that you have left over. They're all so beautiful. I'll go back and check to see if I missed any videos. Your cats are so cute 🥰
G’day Don, Wendle and Wyatt turned out amazing, their colour and pattern is stunning. Thank you so much for the mention, you’re a true gentleman. I didn’t know about Louisiana matrix opal, I enjoy learning a thing or two from you, like when I first started treating matrix your videos were quite informative, cheers. Phil 🤪👍
Stunning matrix, looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Phil and his Dad will be very happy if you improve on that arrow head. Also very interesting Louisiana matrix. Great video!!
Had no idea that Louisiana had opal of any kind, but then again your videos always teach me something new! Love the arrowhead, it's a stunner. And that treated opal...wheew, thats some pretty color. They came out looking fabulous!
Thanks for thr good information. Beautiful rocks, cabs, slabs, rough and arrowhead. I thought the filler scenes wete a biy catty. First LA opal I have sern finished. You and Shelia keep having fun. See y'a next time. 😊
So awesome 😎 to jump on TH-cam and see a new Pulitzer video. I didn’t even know Louisiana had Opal that looked really, really cool. Thanks. I learned something today!
That arrowhead is absolutely on point. That was really funny how you cut the chunk, then you cut the chunk... It's beautiful like it is. I really appreciate and love the Louisiana Opal.. Can't believe I never heard of it before now. I lived a couple of miles away from where it comes from, it's even named after me. (the town) You're going to make Louisiana Opal famous. That cooked opal looks so good... I can't believe how beautiful it turned out... Great show, I truly enjoyed it.
Who knew something pretty like that could come out of Louisiana. 😂 Even Francine turned out pretty. Haha 🤣 thank you for your videos. Always top notch content. The twins came out beautiful ❤️
First video of yours ive seen. From the cats, to the jokes, knapping, the knowledge and the beautiful stunning opals, you got me to sub lol. Honestly besides the incredible twin slabs, Francine was my favorite! Looks nice even when you dont see the color, but then the right light and angle hit it and its just gorgeous color. I think the subtleness of it made it more beautiful somehow.
Your description was very flattering - enough to make me want to sub! The cats HAVE to be in or I’ll go on strike! The rest is having fun and hopefully showing and explaining interesting things - mostly opal, I guess. But you - the fact that you GET Louisiana opal tells me a lot about you. Good subs are always welcome. dp
What a great video! I was searching “do opals crack like glass” and your videos came up. I watched a couple and now I have information that is helpful. Thank you!!
Fantastic! - I watched this video together with my youngest daughter Leah (11). And she laughed with me. She has the same sense of humor as us, Colonel. And she also wants to become an Opal artist when she gets older. She also wants three cats..... (🤭) Thank You for sharing sir 💯👌💯
Hi Colonel papa Doc , I didn't know Louisiana had opal ,but I like it , and that matrix opal is the best I've seen but the arrow head realliy on-point , lol. Thanks for another great video. Best wishes from Scotland.
Beautiful opals! It’s funny you mentioned that opal is like glass. When the settlers moved west, they discarded their trash. Some of it was glass. The Indians found the glass and made arrowheads from it!
First time viewer. I really enjoyed all of the information and had a few laughs. Thank you! I've been duped on online opal sales. Still trying to get a piece to wear for myself that is pendant size. Glad to find you. Aloha.
I live in Indiana, in the country.. surrounded by fields. My grandkids and I enjoy walking the fields hunting for arrowheads after they’ve harvested and tilled. It was pretty cool watching you make one! Love your vids, and your humor 😊 You’re one of a kind! 🥰
Hello Colonel, I love the Louisiana opal, esp Rupert - his colours remind me of the aurora borealis we have been lucky to see recently over here. The matrix opal turned out way more colourful than I had imagined, and it has such clear barring of individual colours...absolutely amazing. Looking forward to seeing how you work them into cabachons. As always, lovely to watch your playful felines! Thanks for informing us about Louisisna opal which I had never heard of before. Much love from 🇨🇮 . T😃
That Matrix is crazy with those wide colour bars i have got and see some good matrix but this bars are just special. Louisiana opal she is a beauty in the rough with all those minerals. Gee I loove rocks specially unique ones tx for another great video
Amazing video as always my friend!!! Love the cats they are adorable!!! Those are some THICC BANDS!!! Might need to write a banger about those 2 - front to back- side to side - ain’t no way this opal can hide😎🎶🎸🎼🥁🎸🎤
I love watching your channel. Thank you so much for educating us newbies on opals. We were just at the Denver Mineral Show and we couldn't believe how much the Ethiopian Opals cost. I got to see some Mexican opals, and also some fossilized wood opals that reminded me of watching your videos last year. I'd love to win an opal, but I'm also happy watching your videos regardless. Take care, brother! 🤙
Thanks for this great video, Don. Beauties ALL! I do love Wyatt and Wendell, what a pair! I also thank you for shining the spotlight on the Louisiana opal, a second time. Was there a pun there? You decide. Congratulations to Its, great set of Hyalite bead on that strand. Good luck everyone!
Rupert and Francine are beautiful stones. I love how you compared it to wine. It's very neat that Louisiana Opal has so many other minerals. Thank you for giving these opal pieces a chance!
I knew about opal in the southwest and northern US, but never about Louisiana opal! I love that I’m always learning something new from your videos. ❤ I think I need to get myself a piece or two since I really love stones that are underdogs with brilliant surprises!
Hello! I'm new here...I'm also new to knowing much at all about opals. I'm just amazed at what you do and know! I'm currently binge watching & on my 3rd episode! 😊 Thank you!
Good heavens. I gasped when you revealed that Andamooka. And I had no idea there was such a thing as Louisiana opal. I learn something from you every video.
I’m learning to cab alll thanks to you! I’d turn Rupert into a cab then a pendant 🥰 Also thanks for the education on Louisiana opal. I never knew! Andamooka 🤤
That was great. I’ve never heard of Louisiana opal. I gotta check that out. Being in Arkansas it wouldn’t be that long of a trek. The treated Andamooka matrix is gorgeous. Great info on how to tell the difference between treated matrix and true black opal. Looking forward to your next video.
Wow! That Andamooka matrix opal is stunning. If you can say without betraying any confidences, what should one expect to pay for that type of rough opal? Apologies if you mentioned it in the video, but I watched while cutting koroit boulder opal. Hard to hear the video over my screams of horror once I say the mess it made.
Big fan of crystals/stones and it was really intriguing to learn about more types of opal! Sometimes i wish it were as easy to pick up stones like those as it was to pick up "neat rocks" as a kid 😆 Came for the cut, stayed for the jokes!
Beautiful 😍 magnificent. Oh I wish so much for an opal. It always has been my favourite stone and it's the birthstone of my twin boys. So much meaning.
Thanks again. I thought this one was especially hilarious. I'm glad to know how to watch out for treated matrix opal being sold as black opal. The Louisiana opal looked pretty great to me because of just what you stated--great background material. Slow motion cat jumps are so much fun.
O M G it's so beautiful.... I didn't know such a stone was possible.... breathtaking, truly ...... wow, I never knew you were in NO. I live in North Central Canada, and I've been a Saints fan since I was 4 or 5yrs old. If you knew me, you'd see, it turned out there could be no other team, in any sport, whose basic avatar most closely resembles me.
That Louisiana opal is gorgeous, it would make stunning necklace and earring sets.
I think so too! Making earrings is hard - two for one!
Dude you are my hero . Thank you for your wonderful video. Cats and opals perfect combination
Turned out great brother. And it never gets old seeing you Knapp out an arrowhead👍🇺🇸
Great video as always! Absolutely stunning matrix opal.
This is the first time I've heard of Louisiana opal. I love learning about the different opals out there. Going to have to find some for my collection.

Louisiana opal! I am so pumped; I had no idea that there was unrecognized treasure in all that dirt & water. Texas is envious, I'm sure.
Loved the opals!
