      Are you still havn carpal tunnel? I sew
      & I hv discovered 2
      Of the cheapest ways
      To get it to(these tips will not take it away completely but every time my carpal tunnel acts up I do these things which are;
      1.)Soak yr hands in hot water with dawn dish liquid soap for
      (3)minutes&
      Then soak yr hands in very cold water&
      Use ice in the cold water for;
      (1)minute also
      I made a; small pillow& a small pillow case to go over the small pillow & I put my hand in the pillow case & I put my fingers over the pillow while I sleep during the night these tips always help me!!!!&So I hope my tips&

    I’m a 25 year old female with carpal tunnel on both wrists, worse on my dominant right hand. I’ve been a barista for 6 years, which is what caused it, and now am in massage therapy school. The pain has flared up majorly lately, but your videos have been so helpful.

      I'm a few months shy of 30 and I've had various intermittent tendonitis/CTS issues with my left arm/wrist for years (cause initially by RSI as a guitar player). Over the last 3y or so, my dominant right arm has far outstripped anything I ever felt in my left. Many days over the last 6-8 months were maddening, close to unbearable. I'm finally making some progress with treatment/specialist referrals but I can totally sympathize with the experience.

    This was so helpful. I have carpel tunnel syndrome diagnosed. The position of my neck is the only thing that causes symptoms of numbness. The doctors want to skip directly to surgery. They didn't suggest any therapy, wearing a brace, or exercises. I kept telling them I believe my neck is the main cause. Without ever checking anything in my neck, they said you have carpel tunnel, you need surgery. I was left on my own to seek out these options. I'm so thankful for videos like this.

    Hi Bob & Brad, I went to the urgent care yesterday & they had a intern student come to check. He was more in a hurry & very unprofessional. He was not able to address my questions nor my concerns. I wanted to get a doctors note for two weeks off from work. I have two jobs as a realtor & as a Beauty consultant at Target … where the management makes you work insanely with no human consideration. Instead, he wrote me a note saying only 18 boxes a day is suitable for me. Sooo disappointed. I learned a lot from your video so thank you so much. I hope in the future ppl who join medicine must remember why they picked that career and show passion & honest dedication.

    Love you guys....very informative.
    I would like to add...don't get discouraged if you don't get significant relief right away. You MUST be consistent in doing the stretches every day for up to several weeks/months before total relief.
    Also make sure you sleep correctly (on your side) with a pillow between your knees and neck supported and in alignment with your back.
    It took me several months and I am proud to say I am healed without surgery....totally off meds.
    I am continuing my stretches and to make sure I stay well, I have built up my core muscles to help support my healing as well as worked on my posture (it's not perfect, but I'm getting there). I had forward head posture, arthritis, and thoracic nerve syndrome....all fixed. My doctor who suggested surgery which involved removing thumb bones is very impressed with my healing! I'm over the moon to dodge surgery and thankful for all your help.
    Hoping this encourages your readers to keep at it. Stretching, good posture, healthy eating healthy, drinking plenty of water....and staying positive are key to good health! Oh...and watching you guys 😜

    Working professionally in arts and writing. I just wanted to say thank you for this comprehensive video. That one exercise with the arm outstretched (palm facing the wall and neck bent) made a world of difference, it really did. It's great that you emphasised the importance of 'being a wimp' when it matters and that more pain =/= more gain so thank you for that.
    Using an arm brace, a strong balm for massaging, regular stretches, and lots of sleep and over the last couple days my grip is slowly returning, strength renewing. I'll be taking another week or so of rest just in case.
    To anyone else reading this, the worst thing you could do to yourself right now is to expect results quick. Give your body credit and trust that you will get better in good time. Try out the exercises gently (very very gently and slowly) and don't forget the importance of deep breathing as you do them. If you're emotionally overwrought and panicking you could hurt yourself further. Release the tension.
    Hydrate well, sleep deep (your body heals during deep sleep), and give yourself as much time as you can. You don't want to see incremental improvement and jump back into work as if you're all better, only to get injured again. You're going to be ok, medical procedure or no. Give yourself time.

      Okay. Here's my progress of my daily stretches.
      1st week: It hurts after waking up and sometimes it feels like it kind of burning. Numb and tingly. Made a homemade splint consisting of a piece of cloth and plastic ruler that I wear most of the time.
      2nd week: There's still some numbness and tingling after waking up and little to no pain after waking up. Took out the plastic ruler and just wrap a cloth on my wrist.
      3rd week: Almost no pain and numbness after waking up, except when I accidentally sleep on the arm that has CTS. Still wearing the cloth as a splnt. Will only wear it before sleeping though.
      4th week: No pain or numbness now. But still wearing the cloth splint
      Note: On the morning that this pain started, I immediately searched for home remedies.

      Have you had any x-rays or an MRI of your cervical spine, & did you have an EMG/NCS?
      I have bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome, bilateral cubital tunnel syndrome & severe cervical radiculopathy where the median nerve is impinged from the cervical spine to both wrists. The MRI shows that there are very few nerve signals getting past my spinal cord at C5-C6. This is beginning to cause atrophy of muscles at the base of my thumbs & in both biceps.

      @@barankarpat3327 You probably should start with getting a referral from your PCP for MRIs of your cervical spine. He will most likely either order the test himself, or refer you to an orthopedic specialist.
      You probably will want to start with a referral to a doctor that specializes in the spine, but you may be referred to an "arm & hand" ortho specialist, a "shoulder" ortho specialist, or all three (sigh).
      Do some research into whether these doctors communicate with each other to help you get the most accurate diagnosis. Like me, you may have multiple issues that require multiple approaches. Don't forget you can always get a 2nd opinion. Always take a reliable person with you to appointments to act as your "scribe" & help you remember things to ask the doctor(s). Prepare ahead of time to save time when you get there.

    I have this diagnosed in one side and it causes excruciating stabbing, cutting, digging nerve pain in my thumb. Amitryptiline has helped a lot and the brace at night stops flare ups.
    I also get a stabbing pain in my armpit that travels into the palm of my hand.
    I'm going to try those stretches and see if it improves. Thank you for putting up these videos. It's a huge help during this pandemic too when seeing a physio isn't easy. Your exercises have helped my arthritic knee, my episodes of bursitis and hopefully my arthritic hip will improve soon too. You do make a huge difference.

    Wow. Thank you. None of those arm stretches i ever do. That was a very easy technique to manage daily. Thank you. I have severe carpal tunnel in both hands. So bad it limits my ability to do things. The muscle between my thumb and index finger in both inside and outer side are getting too big like it is swollen, and it is hard for me to drive, to hold on thing for a long time, even to hold a knife when preparing food. My hands both get so stiff and numb...it hurts and bothers me like my hand with my wrist and forearm feeling numb as if it is not breathing at all. This exercises im sure will help. Though with my severity, it will take a lot of time before i will eventually see some improvement. The thing is, my hands are always busy with work and chores that it barely gets to rest.

    2). Is CTS permanent, or is there something you can do to reverse it’s appearance in your life!

    You two are so helpful. Twice I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, through never conduction studies. I have had it over 30 years. At this point it happens even when I am sleeping with braces on my wrists. The pain even pops up when I am swimming. I am afraid of surgery, since I do and sell art and craft work, at shows and online. I also have neck pain from disc problems and scoliosis. I am trying to avoid surgery; however, the carpal tunnel pain has become constant. I am a retired psychotherapist, and would like to engage in writing a novel. The time then spent on the computer, probably would increase the pain in my hands.

      The Hate Commenter Yes these did. I did a combination of Median and lunar nerve glides. Five reps three times a day for three weeks or so, and my symptoms were completely gone. Make sure to keep on doing nerve glides and not do the same thing that made you get carpal tunnel in the first place or you’ll just be back at square one again.

      @stealingyourbones0 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Juli C I’d go to an occupational therapist as soon as possible because they specialize in carpal tunnel and things of the sort. Go get help as soon as possible because if you don’t it’s just going to get worse.
      My advice: If it hurts near your elbow it’s tennis elbow and not carpal tunnel and the nerve glides are different so search up tennis elbow nerve glides instead and get tennis elbow braces. If it’s near your wrist/thumb it’s carpal tunnel. Do your exercises every single day because that’s the only way you’re gonna get better. Work on your posture, that can cause a lot of problems. Look up how to properly type on a computer if you have carpal tunnel. If your wrist starts hurting, stop what you’re doing and try to find what’s causing the pain and avoid doing the thing that causes the pain. Get wrist braces, they’re a game changer.

    I have it in my right hand and I'm only 23! Didn't realize the average age was much older. I've had it for a year and got it because I play guitar. My right hand technique has diminished a great deal in that time. For example all of my fingerpicking skills were lost. I can barely position my hand to do so. What's worse is I can't even hold a pick let alone use it. (Which is depressing considering that right before I got the syndrome I obtained these beautiful stone guitar picks.) What I find interesting is that I have heard that guitar players typically get it in the LEFT or the fretting hand and not the right. But I'm going for a consult with my surgeon tomorrow, and am experiencing pain as I'm typing so...wish me luck!
