All I managed in my first 90 minutes was to die from dehydration 5 times and taking The Aurora's radioactive core explosion to the face. I am proud of my achievements.

I was about to be saved and then I found an alien building and the building blew up the spaceship rescuing with a repulsor cannon
Played for a few hours now and I absolutely love the game! A tip from a newbie here: Try and read about the fish after you've scanned them and notice how they move/attack. You need tactics to avoid dying (or at least I do or I die all the time lol). For instance, the kamikaze sulphur fish is terrible at turning and you can't always outswim it - making a quick turn will absolutely throw it off. Man I love strategy and not just big weapons... This game is good!

@@laurenx3626 This might be too late, but yes, the reaper is an insta kill on you and a 2 hit kill on your seamoth. They use echo location so if you can hear the roar, they see you. Keep that in mind. They will circle you and come at you from the back/side if possible so stay near an area with debris or a vertical surface. They spawn near the ship and the island

Stalkers appearing right in front of your escape pod on the first start of a new save is literally the scariest thing you can get in the safe shallows (only if you didnt spawn a reaper in that)
It's pretty easy to avoid the leviathan attacks, when he wants to attack you, and it is actually nearby you trying to bite you just use your seaglide and go down his face so that he misses you and then he starts recharging the attack.

I just started playing this game, and needed some basic guidance. I watched three other TH-cam videos that "claimed" to have "beginner tips" before I found this one, and I must say yours is BY FAR the best. On my own, in Survival mode I was able to learn the basic game mechanics, determine how to gather resources, convert water, etc. and use the fabricator, but did not have a direction or plan. Your video gave me a good idea on how to progress. Thank you!

I've played subnautica for a total of 12.5 hours. The only two places I've been to are the shallows and the sunbeam landing point. I'm not very proud of it
How do you find food? It is saying I need to eat because of radiation.
@@giftedandblack494 you grab fish and cook them in your base or pod.You can counter radiation with a radiation suit

Important note: Quartz is NOT recoverable when you dismantle the hatch (let's say you wanted to move it). You might end up not being able to enter your base! So be sure not to turn it all into glass beforehand. Learn from my noobie mistake. ;)
Absolute BS, everything you create in the game via Base Builder you get back when dismantle, no exceptions
Started playing yesterday,its fun and looks gourgeous but the learning curve is pretty steep imo,not very clear where to get which materials to craft ehich i see as a downside realy

Started playing recently, my god this is a hidden gem! This should be more popular than other heavily monitised AAA titles.
You dont need the propulsion canon to explore the aurora. Just did that earlier, there is a ledge above the boxes you can walk on and drop down to skip moving the boxes all together. Great video style, format and execution!

I just bought this game the day before yesterday and for the past 2 days I've tried to find cave sulfur and I couldn't I didn't want to watch a video cause I wanted to experience the game without help but I lost it after 2 days so thank you now I have 3 full waterproof containers of water and all other basic resources right outside my pod!!! I can't wait to see what this game has to offer

By far the best game I got to play last year. Looking forward to "below zero"
best of the last decade for me... and I don't even like survival games. HOWEVER, games that focus on science, exploration, and environment do please me, especially if it all happens under the ocean, where very little is known about. I have played this game two times in early 2018 and I've been so impressed with it that I've been watching gameplays weekly for the last 2 years lol. Look, even now when I know the game A-to-Z I still watch this clip :) .... Truly amazing game. Whoever is bored of the same old killing monsters bullshit should really give Subnautica a try, even if this genre is not up their alley. Subnautica has everything it needs to be a great game: amazing story, great graphics, amazing immersion (the soundtrack alone beats all soundtracks of all games of the last 10-20 years hands down)

Thanks William for this guide, it covers almost everything. I'm somehow missing at a guide to get food and water though. I just died because of starvation, haven't found out how to counter that (ingredients for water still unknown). I'm also struggling with finding copper, which is a major roadblock in the beginning. Luckily, your excellent video has pinched my interest to continue and try harder.
Ok, found out how to catch fish which is at least solving my starvation problem. Unfortunately eating those yellow-eyed fish decreases my water level even more. Now I've died from dehydration :-(

This is a brilliant game I love exploring its really relaxing for the mind not like some of the recent game releases
Here's a tip for getting sulfur, first bait the fish, wait for 1 or 2 second when it come outside, swim straight to up, since it's not a good turner, it will explode outside of range, leaving you with sulfur. Note that when you swim straight, continue even if you pass it, since it can still turn.
I clicked on this video without seeing who made it. And within 10 seconds of watch the video immediately knew who it was purely from The Voice.
Do Subnautica Below Zero next! (Especially explaining about the biomes). I like you explaining stuff and if you can, PLEASEEEEEE do an updated version of your minecraft guide. Those are my favorite!!🙂
