      Hi, I think it depends on your school system, but usually you apply through UCAS in the October before you graduate! (and interviews will be later in December)

      Could you briefly say in what ways?

    • @DC-mv7zr
      @DC-mv7zr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@da14a49 It was mainly due to the difference in subjects, I study law and the interviews were very different from hers. But the basics are the same, you really need to be proactive, engaging and vocalise your thought processes. Especially for law, most of the times there won’t be a right or wrong answer, it’s about the reasonings and justifications. The tutors are picking their students, and the interviews are very similar to an actual tutorial, so how you engage with the material and content is crucial. You just need to be yourself and vocalise your thoughts.

    I heard that Oxford sends out invites only like a week before the interviews. Did you have any problem with visa and flights?

    • @ZQmedicinspires
      @ZQmedicinspires  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My invitation came about 2 weeks before the interviews. There weren't any problems with visa as I was only there for a few days, though my flight was a bit expensive as I booked it quite last minute!

    Hi! Has face-to-face classes started in Oxford already? And I was wondering if you entered last October (this year, 2020)?

    • @ZQmedicinspires
      @ZQmedicinspires  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Face-to-face lessons have not restarted yet, as the UK is still in lockdown! We are hoping for better conditions next term, but it all depends on how the situation evolves... Although we still have a very select few practicals / patient-and-doctor sessions that are in-person with safe distancing and face covering.

    Hi I have bunch of question about admissions So it's in year 13 like a levels last year that you apply right? Then you do a personal statement and then admission tests then interview then decisions? IAM SO CONFUSED LIKE THE TECHER REFERENCE EVERYONE HATES ME WHO WOULD SIT DOWN WITH ME AND TALK IT THROUGH. So asking about this I'm asking like when shoukd I start volunteering and work experience and Medicine are there any conditions. IF ANY OF THE INFORMATION I SAID WAS WRONG PLZ PLZ PLZ CORRECT ME. IM IM YEAR 9 so I shoukd have a fair amount of time I want to do medicine course

    • @ZQmedicinspires
      @ZQmedicinspires  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi don't worry I think year 9 is still quite early! Yes, you apply in your last year before A Levels (year 13), normally UCAS application deadline is mid-October, so make sure you've done volunteering / work experience before that. UCAT is usually Jul-Sep, BMAT late Oct/early Nov. Interviews are usually Dec for Oxbridge, Jan-Mar for other unis. I started my hospice volunteering about two years before applying but I think less than that is fine as well. For work experience, maybe try to do during the holidays in the year 11/12? (some hospitals have a min age requirement of 16). For the teacher's reference, you only need it before UCAS, so as long as you have someone you can ask before year 13 it should be fine. All the best!!

    • @ZQmedicinspires

      @@darkparadise756 I believe there's no age limit (some people apply after a gap year), but there are some academic requirements which you can find here: www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/courses-listing/medicine. Hopefully you would have taken an exam that is recognised by the university in terms of applications. You would also need to take the BMAT (an admissions test). In which age we can apply for oxford in medicine

    • @ZQmedicinspires
      @ZQmedicinspires  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on when you take your exams (www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/courses/course-listing/medicine). For most of us it's usually age 17 or 18 when we apply, but you can apply earlier or later as long as you meet the admissions requirements (e.g. some people skip grades, some people take a gap year, etc).
