Hiya, great video! Love the informal style :) ; I've just got a little question - how exactly is it you maintain good eye contact and body language during the interview? As an introvert this kind of skill is a little difficult to master, and I struggle to get that perfect balance between looking away and back to them, staring at people incessantly isn't exactly something you want during a med school interview. Do you have any advice on how I could tackle this problem?
Great question! I wouldn’t worry too much about this since it’s the content that you’re saying that’s generally more important BUT here are my main tips: - keep an open, relaxed posture facing the interviewer once you sit down in the room - try to avoid slouching, even lean forwards to appear more engaged - you can use your hands but try to avoid doing it excessively! - to work on confidence (I know, way easier said than done!), practice is key: best way is with another person who can give you constructive feedback - to gauge if the level of eye contact and your body language is good, you can also try practising in front of a mirror or recording yourself - when in doubt, too much eye contact is probably better than too little! Hope this helps! ♥️
