“Time won’t give me time” is such a powerful line about not wasting our lives caught up in a situation waiting for something to happen, when we could be doing better things to benefit our lives. That time you’re wasting waiting for something good to happen won’t pay you back, and it will be wasted inevitably.

This is by far, and I'm sure most diehard Culture Club fans would agree, their best song ever. It's a great soulful pop song, but with a distinctly poignant and melancholy undertone that has been sorely missing from their other songs. It reminds me a little of Aretha Franklin's version of "Say A Little Prayer" in that her version is almost painfully sad, whereas Dionne Warwick's rendition is upbeat and sunny.

Culture club at there best. The bass, drums, vocal and guitar are amazing. Roy's guitar is so soulful, Mikey's bass driving the song along, John's drums holding the song together and then George's vocals are something else.

They are the bomb when they are TOGETHER! I can't say "why", but when George went solo I found myself no longer paying attention to him or buying his records even though he had the same voice.

I never did say that it hurts me because of George's voice not being the same as it used to be.... but that sure IS one of the reasons why this song makes me cry. The very title OF the song, " Time... Cliock of the Heart " is a testament to how we can NEVER get any time period back.... no matter how strong we wish that we could.

I have just revisited Culture Club since the 1980s. Listening to these tracks as an adult now I can hear the nod to it's musical roots of black, reggae, soulfut notes. I've had "TIME" on rotation almost everyday I must agree with Jimm below that the other tracks just don't cut this edge for me. George's lyrical melancholy is rich and it's the only track to really "get me" especially the line "Touch we touched, was the heat too much? I guess I lost you from the start."

Another smokey soulful performance from the great Boy George. It is bittersweet to know that the heyday of Culture Club fell amid the turbulence of a tragic ill fated love. Oh how the tortured soul of the artist proved itself again (as it has in so many cases) to be wellspring of creativity. This well penned song details the lonely introspection of a person who - while madly in love - cannot shield themself from the cold harsh truth of a failing relationship, that is regrettably, inevitably doomed.
Though I am straight, it matters not that these songs were spoken from the heart of a troubled relationship between two males. Love is love, and love speaks to love. I find that the love songs speaks with a beauty and musicality that even my straight-laced heterosexual heart can be rendered into a million pieces by the heartfelt pain put to song.
I'm sure this time was one of your toughest George, but let it be known that it would birth some tragically beautiful melodies that would outlast your own heartbreak, and offer solace to heartbroken everywhere as they too traversed the cold journey through the dark, knowing someone out there, way back where, way back when knew just what it was like, and that the whisperings of your dulcet tones offered their misery, the needed company to help them get through the same. And so it will continue, for today, for tomorrow, and tomorrow's evermore, well after we are gone.

I tend to agree with most of the fans here, after almost 35 years, this song came out of the blue and caught my attention. "Time won't give me time" stuck in my head, and I didn't even know the name of the song, although I know it is one of their songs. This is like one of those song that you never really appreciate in your youth but discovered it as a gem in your old age.
I remember I liked it (a lot) back in the day, but I absolutely LOVE it now! ❤❤
