Reverse Light Switch Replacement

Replacing a faulty reverse light switch in a Nissan Micra K12 from years 2003 to 2010. If your reverse light doesn’t work and you’ve changed the bulbs and checked all the connections and it still isn’t working, it’s possible that this switch may have failed. I can make the reverse light go on by pressing the switch manually but it’s doesn’t work when it’s inserted into the gearbox. Can you tell me the issue inside the gearbox and the name of the part to replace it
