- How to replace the reverse light switch in a Volkswagen Golf Mk5 from years 2004 to 2007. If your reverse light doesn’t work and you’ve changed the bulbs and checked all the connections and it still isn’t working, it’s possible that this switch may have failed. This video also shows the basics of how the reverse light switch works. Thanks for watching. Please comment, like and subscribe !.

Do u have a video for a mk 6 reverse switch replacement or is it the same place and process as the mk 5??
I haven't worked on a Mk6 so I'm not sure. Check this video: th-cam.com/video/t8onhujbRis/w-d-xo.html
Hi there
I see that you undertook this on a " Volkswagen Golf. 04 to 07 " I have an Audi A3 1.9Tdi 8P1 2009 of the same family group etc.
Will my switch be in the exact same location ?
I guess this also applies for the Skoda Fabia 2007 1.4 86hp model
I'm not sure, I haven't worked on one
Is the switsh on dgs on the same place?
No I don't think they're the same on the dsg transmissions
I'm Succesful🙏👏👍
Thanks for watching !
I assume that this switch is only present on manual golf's and is absent from automatic models. Can anyone confirm this?
I'm not actually sure, I would assume you're correct but I've never worked on an automatic.
Is this the same for a 1.6 FSI?
It depends on the transmission type. If it's manual then is should be quite similar
Is this only a dumb switch, or does it also control the rear wiper and pdc? Because my car thinks its in reverse all the time and annoys me with the wiper and pdc beeping.
On this vehicle it just turns the reverse light on
If you have a reversing camera, then it won't work if this switch is broken as camera won't get power
Light switch is ok, testing manually lights working, what next?
What car ?
