Best video I've seen on this job. SO many forums out there of people saying it cant be done in place. I got mine out with a cut down and welded spanner. Good work mate
I really need to see the 4wd sensor sockets how they are matching, there is 3 pair of sockets, I could really use a picture from that part ( the next sensor om the left side of the reverse sensor )
What size ratchet and extension did you use for this? Looks like I'm going to be going out and buying new tools just for this repair. I tried to get this switch out on my truck using a 19mm flare wrench and had no success (no room to turn). Thanks!
If you are replacing the backup light switch on the transmission it's obviously worthless. Avoid needing special tools Iike a crows foot wrench. Cut the wires off the old switch and use a deep well 19mm socket and breaker bar or ratchet. Replace switch by hand and tighten with open end 10mm. Use anti-seize compound.
Correct me if I'm wrong? The Frontier's compatible with the Xterra? I have a '06 with the same issue. Auto tranny w/4wd. These same steps and parts will work?

Could I reach the switch better through the shifter boot? Thanks for the vid btw!
i dont know, but is a good idea, underneath you dont need to remove too many parts
