Couldn't agree more as to loading weight.
When we drove from the Anza-Borrego Desert to San Diego last Christmas, we could literally smell the brakes on the RVs going down the mountain road S22 we were climbing with out top down.

I see lots of boats towed behind travel trailers and 5th wheels around here too.

Well thank you Jeff when you get a chance let’s discuss some of the spendthrift MFGs factory direct where they roll it out the door and you immediately pick it up & take delivery some of these units are wholesale & built for what they call sideWalk dealers I had one it was not too bad I made a profit when I sold it I had all my proper paperwork then I also had a high bill showing a typical average retail price I bought wholesale I got it factory direct in Elkhart it was built with all well known name brand components the unit was called Impala when the first big economic dabacle occurred in 2003 the company stopped producing Travel Trailers & FifthWheel Coach’s and started building Kids playground fantasy equipment & club houses Lawn furniture back yard fencing Dog houses Utility Sheds €£¥ ect ect ect ! T.L. Industries then when I was a wee tyke my parents dealt with Marauder Travellers on Bittersweet rd in Granger Indiana

I couldn’t agree with your points and as an certified rv tech the repairs I’ve seen from both dealers and the DIY owner would make your skin crawl. Now don’t get me wrong I love educating and working with the DIY owner but call in a tech first and stop watching all these BS TH-cam experts .

You clearly are ignorant as to what the reality of this problem really is. So do you mean the shady dealers that the RV assembly companies keep referring owners to? Those shady companies? Clearly, you are putting ALL the blame on the RV owners and not really blaming these RV manufacturers at all. I am thick in it with 3500+ members on my Facebook site who are getting jacked around by Grand Design and even Lippert. These RVs have been built like Sh..t and you know it as well as everyone else does. These RVs were poorly designed, engineered, and even more poorly built. RV owners were sold a complete lie and have been getting away with it. It has been a long time since you have been in the RV industry.

First, the way the chatter I have been hearing is ALL manufacturers and how bad they are all made which is not entirely true. As for Grand Design while the appeal to the buyers as they "look" wonderful the ones I have seen however I would not buy one. None of them can be used in a full time setting like 5th Wheels of the past, King of the Road, Carriage, Peterson Industries products and others from the 90s and 2000s. When you have several manufacturers that build components for you and Grand Design assembles them you are going to loose all quality aspects of what you are trying to achieve as a manufacturer. Case in point, look at GM and other auto manufacturers with several of their cars, that pieces were made elsewhere and assembled in one plant, most all failed.
Dealers in the RV Industry are going to take direction from the manufacturers most of the time instead of taking care of the customer does this make them shady? Maybe it does or doesn't but in most industries today there is a complete lack of customer service, and on the manufacturering side they are trying to keep the price as low as possible so they can have sales, and when quality is compromised and the manufacturer has to pay out for warranty work and law suits, and settlements, the price goes up on the product, or the company goes out of business and no one wins.
I may not be completely informed as to what is going on in the industry, as I have been out of it for over 20 years, but in some cases it is on the end user as to the abuse of the 5th wheel, travel trailer etc. If the problem is clearly one manufacturer go after them don't make it sound like it is the entire industry which is the point I'm trying to make.
