I have MTHFR mutation. My ferritin is 10 so my hematologist is recommending IV iron infusions. What is your opinion on IV iron? I’m afraid of toxicity since I’m sure IV iron is synthetic and with my MTHFR mutation I can be very sensitive to toxins. I’m currently taking a very high quality liquid iron. However, although my hemoglobin has gone up, my ferritin is still very low (went from 7 to 10 in about 2 weeks of taking the liquid iron), and I’m still feeling the symptoms of anemia. Every month my periods are extremely heavy so it’s like playing catch-up. My hematologist is insisting on IV iron because he says although I’m supplementing and my hemoglobin is near normal, ferritin takes a very long time to increase. And with my heavy periods even longer. So he says my anemia and symptoms might not get better for a long while.
My friend . My advice to you . During the period . Focus on fruit and vegetables . Listen to doctor berg . He is great . Iron doesn't work by it self . Make sure you vitamin and supplement are from fruit and vegetables organic whole food . Drink red onion juice 2 spoones with warm water an homey before food 20 . 3 time a day . What happened we need to clean our body's from toxic food and dishes . Microwave . Tifal . Aluminum . Frying . Gmo oil and vegetable . Frozen . Try juice fruit and vegetables . For while . I received IV iron recently that my Dr suggested. I was made aware of the possible side effects and allergic reactions but fortunately everything went quite fine.
My ferritin level is 18, i had hairfall , so doc prescribe me iron pills with elemntal iron abt 100mg 2 capsules per day, so after how mamy months i have to take tablets to increase ferritin level to 70 to have regrowth, after how many months i have recheck ferritin level ,pls mam reply as i m taking dermatology treatment for hair regrowth
My friend floradix with natural vita c from fruit and vegetables . All you health problem is from iron dificency . When you fix the iron everything will come back for example it took me 3 months to have my hair back . But now . Floradix . Drink onion juice red kind too suppose with warm water and honey 20 minute before food 3 times a day . Iron is not working by it self it needs cupper is in cilinyro .persly . I would suggest NOT supplementing with iron at all if you have congenital hemochromatosis. I'd suggest donating blood to bring iron levels down in that case.
Ferritin is an indication of the body's iron stores, so I am referring to iron levels in the body, but the blood test to measure these levels would be a ferritin test. I hope that helps to clarify things.
