vegan doctors are delusional.. they push there diet by saying "we used to get b12 from dirty plants and water" without any evidence, when in reality we used to get b12 from eating animals, i am vegan myself, but theres not a single vegan doctor that doesnt have mental issues
@@VeganChiefWarrior Yes there is b12 in soil and other things that bath in bacteria like NORI seaweed or fermentation like nutritional yeast or kombucha. b12 does not just come from animal flesh.
@@Franco_NI theres also iodine and selenium and omega 3 etc, you really think a diet where we have to hyper focus on eating certain foods and supplements to get enough nutrients when the nutrient content varies in these foods isnt stressfull to say the least? i am vegan btw.. 6 years strict vegan.. its just that its only recently that ive done lots of research and its got me super stressed out, maybe i do have mental issues.. maybe from the deficient diet..but i still think my point is strong

The idea if undetectable bleeding is intensely useful. Only a medical doctor who is invested in the beneficial wellbeing of his patients (a true healer), would explore such an option. The way the system is set up unfortunately doesn't help most MD's think in this fashion. Most barely have time to run from one person to another. This is why I so appreciate the advice you offer on your vlogs. Thank you so much for your prospective, you are such a blessing.
I love these videos and frequently share them to my Facebook group members because you explain everything in easy-to-understand terms. Thank you for all you do for our community! HUGS FROM TEXAS!
I don’t know if he mentioned it, but I found out that being celiac (all my life, apparently) made me have anemia. Docs never caught it. Try going gluten free for anemia.
Dr Klaper, what do you consider to be the normal range for iron levels? I am planning to follow the protocol you described in your video, but while thinking about it, I wonder if I even have low iron levels... I have seen contradictory opinions on that so it is difficult for me to judge. According to what I see on the blood test report I got, the normal range is 19,0-350,0 μg/L and I have 43,5. In one book I read on chronic fatigue, the doctor advises that it is good to be above 60. Thank you for the video. Edit : I just realized that the number and the range I am talking about is for ferritin and not iron. But my question remains!
You are a true example of life and such an inspiration with your clear information. I am happy that I have found this Channel and I wish that this knowledge was common in our culture and of course it ought to be basic in medical Education. We can all hope that it will change in the future -
Terrific video! I have a chronic illness( M.E./CFS) and was told by my naturopathic doctor that my illness is eating up my iron stores, so I've been supplementing as my ferritin was low and at one point I was a little anemic. I'm not anymore, but my ferritin is on the low side of normal. Can chronic illness like mine eat up your iron stores?
My family has a history of M.E and the women in my family are prone. My mom, sister, and aunt have and had problems. My mom is no longer here because of this condition as well as fibromyalgia and being mistreated by naturopaths and doctors alike. It is possible at a cellular level that M.E is related to energy metabolism. Although, It is unclear what may be going on internally for every individual. Scinetifically It could be possible that you have lower blood pressure due to iron deficiency and that can lead to chronic fatigue. That is my situation anyways. I also got a pass from my doctor after iron supplement therapy a while ago. However the effects didnt last long and I went back to being deficient 1 month later. I am not on iron again after 2 years. This time a much higher dose.
That's really tough! I'm hoping research can lead to some answers as to what causes this soon. This illness has caused me to be housebound and spend most of my time in bed. I've been totally bed bound at one time for 7 months. My low iron didnt start until after my illness.
@@kathystoner5239 Have you been getting testing done at the doctors? I have also heard of a condition called iron deficiency of chronic disease. You would need to do testing to figure out where you are losing the iron. Like for myself I lose it through my period. I didn't realize it was what was causing my problems. I had always had a lot of blood loss. Although it slowly crept up to a breaking point as it were and was the main cause of my fatigue.
I've been iron deficit for over 20 yrs. I'm currently you on suppliments prescribed 3 times a day. However I only do 2 and this keeps my levels normal. My question is as I am switching over to a plant based life should I stop taking the suppliments? These are the only meds I take and I am still childbearing age..😊
On an ultrasound there is a cyst but that was on the first day of my period is that using my iron stores as I also have ibs making absorbing nutrients more challenging
I just wonder. I have to take iron supplements because I have chronic heavy bleeding on my period. It got worse into adulthood and is likely what has made me iron deificient. Even before I went vegan I believe I fell into that category. At any rate, is birth control a viable option to control the heavy bleeding? Or should I take a low dose iron just to be safe. I just don't even know anymore. Why do I lose so much blood anyways? Is their any way to tell why through blood work why I have a heavier period?
I've just got my results and my hemoglobin loooks low, while iron is high and ferritin is normal. Actually iron and ferritin are growing on vegan diet) so I that could be that hemoglobin is low?
My doctor is investigating but we have 3 month wait times here for most tests - colon cancer screening and the gyno. My hgb is at 6.5g/dL and I've been prescribed a non heme iron supplement. ferrous polysaccharides - are there fewer risks with this kind of supplement?
Hello, I didnt feel like my doctor cared too much when I told him I was vegan and would like a blood test. Everything came back fine but my iron was on the low side, borderline anemic. So he prescribed me some iron tablets, 2 a day. I only take one on alternate days or if i can remember these days. I'm 34, have a menstrual cycle, I also donate my blood. I'm vegan and i would say my diet is 99.999% wholefood plantbased, so lots of spring greens, spinach, kale, chickpeas, etc. so I'd say I'm pretty healthy and active. I dont feel confident about asking for another blood test because I just feel like a Wally. Do you think my iron levels will be ok? Should instill take the iron supplements every now and again, especially near menstruation or when I dontate blood? Or should I just stick to my wfpb diet and leave it at that? Also, what about pregnancy? Many thanks :)
If you’re in the UK check out Thriva . You can check your iron and ferritin (amongst other things) with them. I have had the same my doctor not being that worried about my diet (vegan for 6 months and vegetarian for 16 years prior to that). I discovered I had non anaemic iron deficiency (ferritin was 18 at its lowest although Haemoglobin within reference range). I have discovered that my extreme fatigue only disappears when my ferritin is greater than 50 (which coincidentally is what they use as the lower cut off in America- in the Uk it’s currently 30). Iron deficiency is the most common deficiency so our reference ranges tend to include people who are deficient in my opinion. I would say get your ferritin checked (indicator of iron stores), if it’s below 50, either keep up with your supplements or do the diet changes as recommended by Dr Klaper. Check again in a few months to see if there’s any increase in levels and see if you feel any better. I’m not a doctor but have a degree in biomedical science.

Iron iron has a famously insatiable appetite for oxygen so does that not make it a reducing agent ?
