Thanks mate! It's the attention to detail that makes all the difference. The more time you spend on the little things, the better finished product you will get 👍
power supply should be fine in the enclosure - the aim of the enclosure is to keep the print at a constant ambient, so put a thermometer in it just to check what that is, but it should all be fine and its probably not getting too hot in there - if your really worried about it you could hook it up to an arduino, so that it turns on some PC fans once it exceeds a certain temperature, or turns on heaters once it goes below a certain temperature.
I use a 50/50 epoxy resin glue, I usually use Areldite or a cheaper alternative. Super glue also works, but id recommend strengthening the inside with with fibreglass.
Some of the smaller pieces I printed with as little as 15% infill to save filament, but you can pretty much print as dense as you want. Bear in mind that the print will be weaker, but you can make the walls of the print thicker to make it stronger aswell!
I want to get into 3d printing stuff like this. What printer do you use? Or do you have one that you recommend that is capable of printing these parts?
I use the Anet A8, but it is quite loud and did need some safety features adding. I'd recommend spending a bit more on something like a creality CR10. Larger print area, better frame, higher print quality. I definitely suggest doing your own research though to find what suits you best.
Thanks Alot! I will be posting videos again at some point. But I am in my final year of university, so I don't have the time or my kit with me at the moment. Stay tuned tho, there will be videos coming! Haha
I didn't print the chin cup as I don't really wear the helmets at all. But it would attach with straps through the part and connect to the helmet in the slots underneath where the mask joins the main helmet.
Looks incredible! I’m wanting to start printing this soon and am worried about the size. Did you print it at 100% and if so, does it fit your head nicely?
Thanks! I believe I scaled it up a tad in 'meshmixer'. I can't remember the scale I printed it at, but there are plenty of TH-cam videos explain the proper way to measure your head and scaling helmets :)
After further digging to the original designer, lot's of people is recommending to print at 105-110% because the model itself is quite snug. and it all depends on how loose you want the helmet to be
I'm currently doing the same project and just got done printing all 8 pieces of the 'main' helmet. the two pieces on the lower back part of the print (one of them got the vertical indentations) seem to be kinda thin in some parts. The part that is closest to your neck for example, has such a thin outer layer that i'm scared to handle it. did you encounter the same issue and what print settings did u use?
@@J.watkins_01 any idea where to find them legally? Can’t find a model where the visor isn’t attached to the face. They’re all so poorly done but your files looked proper
PS i have a 3D printed helmet of the Biker Scout. Ive not built it yet. I spent a lot of money for it and the the XTC- 3D coating ive never used before and afraid to. What did you use to cover the whole helmet? I noticed you used car putty to fill seem lines. I tried sending a part but find it's tough to do so. I had no idea about this before i bought it. I also have two weapons E-11 Blaster and the DLT-19 Rifle Blaster. I'm in the same predicament with those and the seller i bought these from has vanished from eBay. On another note thats an excellent job on that Scout helmet.👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
Thank you! I’ve never personally used any kind of 3D print coating, but for a few of the helmets I got on well using spray filler primer. It’s basically a thick layer of spray paint that is a bit chalky and sandable to get rid of print lines. It gives a good coat to spray paint onto aswell. But it won’t fill large gaps like joint lines unfortunately.
@@J.watkins_01 thanks for that. Yes when I bought the helmet I didn't know I had to spend extra AU $100.00 for this resin like coating. Apparently it makes the sanding easier and gives smooth finish. It's a two part you mix and pour on to a flat foil hand made tray that gives the XTC about 14 minutes before it dries up. I'll have to try and find that spray you used. I hope it's available here in Australia..👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
Hey man, the link you attached for the file doesnt rly work anymore probably because the creator deleted it. Would you mind emailing me the files if its not too much to ask? :D
Hey! If the creator has removed the files, it’s probably not a good idea to share the files externally as it would probably be a breach of their copyright :( sorry mate
As said in the video description…. The designer has removed the files and the are now unavailable for download. These aren’t my files so I cannot provide them to anyone. Sorry.
Lucky you have a printer. I guess you can make almost anything you wish. What sort of plastic does it use? Im curious to know and price for printer and the rolls of plastic. I take it you have to have it connected to a computer? Unfortunately ive no idea about them only that they create wonderful items,👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
Almost anything yes haha. I print with the standard PLA plastic, but there are lots of different materials nowadays (abs, petg, carbon fibre, wood etc). PLA isn’t expensive either. About £15 a roll. Cost of printers have come down in recent years. Can buy a decent printer for about £250/300 now!
This just randomly popped up in my recommended. The algorithm blesses you.
Thank you for this video, its fantastic work, keep doing your projects you clearly have a passion and your good at it,

Wow, great work. What filament did you use?
Thanks a lot! For filament, I used whatever was cheapest on Ebay! Haha
What bolts are those for the helmet I need to replace mine and can't seem to find em.
The bolts for the hinge are part of the file. Also 3D printed :)
Someday when you get lots of subs ima be like ive been here since 160 subs

How do you do measurements for your head? I’m really wanting to do this but I am not sure how to scale it correctly
I try to scale it as best I can in meshmixer with a model head that fits my measurements :)

very cool !!!!!
That looks quite good, are you able to wear it comfortably or would you need to add in padding and stuff?
Thanks! Padding would need to be added, but this wouldn't take too much effort. Padding is something I need to add to some other of my helmets aswell.
Cool hope that your channel takes off you've got some good content and cool builds keep it up😁
What is the program you used to test the fit of the helmet before slicing it up into pieces? I want to make sure it'll fit before I print it
I used meshmixer and imported a head model and adjusted proportions to the size of my head. Then scaled the helmet up or down to fit. :)
how much time and PLA u need to print the helmet? Amazing super job 👍👍👍
Thanks mate! I probably used just over 1kg of plastic, and alot of time! Not sure of exact figure, but it's probably over 50 hours all together.
@@J.watkins_01 ty beautifull pieces👌
Hiw many kg’s of filament does this need?
I believe just over 1kg. I got two 1kg rolls to be safe.
@@J.watkins_01 alright! Thanks!
how did u do the hinge
The hinge was designed in the files as 3d printed pivot points. I just needed to put it together!

I also have an Anet A8, is there any way you could send me the files that you have after you spliced them? would be super appreciated
To slice files I'd recommend using meshmixer, as that's what I used. Its super simple and plenty of tutorials online to help.
