  • Signed on deadline day, Leo Hjelde made his surprise full debut for Sunderland against Middlesbrough only four days later. Pembele still hasn't made his! Signed from Leeds, the Norwegian UI21 has played at every grade level for his country and is nominally a centre back. Today he was deployed behind Jack Clarke as a Left Back. So let's take a look at how he did with a compilation of All his touches and let me know what you think of our new signing.

Hi Alt - thanks for your excellent work and effort giving us detailed analysis + your unique tactical and strategic insights. I doubt many other teams (if any) can enjoy output equivalent to yours - fortunately for us, you support SAFC.
Credit to Beale for playing Hjelde vs safer option of picking Seelt. I thought he had an excellent debut given he'd hardly been playing any first team football and only joined a few days ago. He lost possession a few times, but he'll improve with more games and it means Trai can play in his best position. For a big lad - he's got decent pace and could be an excellent CB for us sometime with his attributes (left footed/pacey/used to going forward). Cheers - Jim

Hey thanbks for taking the time to tell me that I really do appreciate it. Yep, I'm not sure there is anyone else who does this kind of stuff...takes too bloody long, that;s why. Still I enjoy it and people seem to like it. Yes, Hjelde seems like a steal. Let's see how it all goes...I feel we're getting players in to cover potential losses in the summer transfer window? I mean it's inevitable at some point isn't it.

As the commentator said it was a bit of an up and down debut. Let’s hope the future holds more ups than downs. Thanks again for another great piece of work Alt, it’s appreciated.

Thanks, took longer that I hoped as he touched the ball quite a lot and never went off. Still a useful marker to see where he ends up as a player.
