12/12/19 I took my son to hear Mr Peterson at Yoshi's Jazz Club in Oakland, California, for his birthday. The maitre'd said to me, "I am SO sorry, the only table left is by the piano!!!!!!" I hit the Oscar Peterson lottery for my entire life!!!! He was with Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen, Mr Ulf Wakenius, and Martin Drew. That night we heard the best we could ever hear. Cheers!

You and your "birthday son" were Blessed to get that table and see Oscar up close. That is a memory for you two to keep and share your whole lives together. . . .SYLVIA! - FL 7/27/2020

This DVD was the first time I ever Heard of the great Oscar Peterson, I was utterly amazed by his Mammoth Chops!
Till this day I have never heard anyone like him... Man! so much command! I thank the Lord for bringing him to the world.

"Teach Me Tonight" ...If only Oscar could "Teach Me Tonight" to play the piano as good as he does. He is the master. I love when he hums/sings to his own piano playing with that gorgeous smile on his face! What a man in every way!! I never get tired of his music! . .SYLVIA! . . 7/27/2020

Jimmy Smith & Donald “groove” Holmes come to mind with Oscar when I hear humming-grumbling & mumbling in the background!

12:36 - Oscar Peterson is playing the same amazing licks with both hands two octaves apart.
12:46 - Watch the reactions of two of the most accomplished Jazz bassists in the world as they're blown away by Oscar's incredible solo.

There is a CD available. It doesn’t have the OP solo tracks, but it has 7 tracks with OP and the two bassists. One of my favorite CDs.

Both bass players are stylistically distinctive and great but what amazes me (as a Flamenco and Jazz guitarist) is that NHØP has a right hand that most flamenco Guitarists would be glad to own on the Contrabass. O.P. is beyond description and needs none. The joy and energy between the three maestros is palpable.
