Most of the Amarican battleship won't be in any Museum, or shows how powerful those guns were to a regular Destroyer, or still have those old flak AAAs that can shred any engaging dive or torpedo bombers. Here’s how it would go out if it attacked a US force head on, It’d would be spotted by aircraft, since most fleets had Aircraft Carriers, Submarines would be sent out to sink/disable it, aided by aircraft, and if that wasn’t enough, the North Carolina was easily large enough to sink it to the bottle of the sea, the Japanese High Command knew the Superiority of the US Navy, and even if it did sink a few battleships and Carriers, so what? The US could easily replace them, this ship simply wasn’t right for the kind of war it was in, 20 years earlier? It’d be god against other ships, but the Carrier snuffed it out, Battleships are simply outdated, Subs, Torpedo Bombers and Carriers all carry the fire power able to sink them, and when you lose one, and aren’t an Industrial Superpower, lie Japan was, you’re in for a nasty surprise

This is really cool, but the Yamato didn't have giant flak cannons for AA, the main battery was used for ships or bombardment, not Anti Aircraft fire. It had dozens of machine guns for that, on the sides. Still cool though! :)
Strength and power...It was a failure overall: Launched with the intention of a super ship, only to be crippled and destroyed after being deployed when battleships were obsolete: it really didn’t do anything besides exist. It retreated after its first battle at Leyte, betraying the very essence the Yamato was built for

@jayman055 5 No it is not, you need really good luck to knock a plane out of the sky with 18 inch guns. It just doesn’t happen. I saw the ship knock tons of planes put of the sky with those 18 inch guns in this video.
But you can use timed fuse shells plus he got this from a video about the yamato
GreatLakesSturgeon google beehive shells, i know it happend a bit too much in the vid but its possible.
History tells us the beehive shells were just flaming balls of fire and the planes flew through them unharmed lol.

I don’t think the 18’ guns are suspose to shoot down aircraft that’s why they have anti-air but besides that it was very cool
