Tom - thank you for this video! I was going to have it installed but wanted to charge me $450. After watching this, I was comfortable that I could do it. It took me 2 hours from getting everything setup to clean up. It took me longer to run the air lines than get the bags into the springs. I was able to step on the bag to deflate and then put cap on. Then fold it like a hotdogs Bun and zip tie. Thanks again. Now I have $450 to spend on something else.
Nice video just ordered the hd bags for my ram 1500
Thank you for this video. You made the installation so much easier and saves me some money too.
Love to hear it!
Hey man great video. Can you make a video or send a link on that headache rack? From what you can see in the video it looks great
@@loganvickery4921 can’t remember if I mentioned it in the video but that rack I built from scratch. If I build another I definitely will make a video of it.
Great Video. I bought the same Air Bags and will be installing them on my 2022 - 1500 Ram. I plan to use them when my Camper is hooked to the truck. To adjust the air to the air bags when the camper is attached, is that more or less trial by error, or how to determine a set pressure to the bags? I heard that when the truck is empty, keep the pressure at 5 PSI.
I always keep mine around 10-12 PSI just for everyday use with work and since I have tools that stay back there.
For finding the PSI that fits you best just take a measurement from top of the tire to top of wheel well with it empty. Then pump it up in increments of 5-10 PSI testing it with the weight on it till you get back to your original top of tire to top of wheel well measurement. I took the load off the truck when I would do the pumping. In the included users manual it has areas to fill in PSIs that you use commonly so you can reference if you have a handful of different trailer sizes or bed loads.
Nice video! What wheels are those on your truck? Looking good.
Thanks! The wheel are Fuel Rebels in 10x20 with -18 offset.
Thanks for the good walkthrough.
How are they doing, I see this video is is about 9 months old. Just wondering if you have had any issues? Still holding air?
I recently removed them as I just upgraded my rear coils to HD 2500 coils. They held air fine the whole time. No complaints here!
What made you change to the 2500 hd??
Also, what is the ride difference before and after the airbag installation? Thanks
@@GreenMountainProjects was it hard to swap to 2500 coils in rear ,
Great video man
Very helpful, thank you!
How do the bags affect the ride quality when pulling the trailer? I tried rubber support springs before but they were too harsh even when pulling a camper.
The ride quality is much better with these. The bags are adjustable. So basically you can put anywhere between 5psi to 50psi. so if its too stiff just let some air out . The manual comes with a section that you can write down PSI's so you don't have to remember what PSI is best for what ever trailers you have.
How many tons is that Bobcat? 🤔
Hey with the bags pumped up and no load do they bring your truck up at all? Hoping they'll bring me up about a inch unloaded like my cousins ford.
These will not as they just fill the inside of the coil to prevent them from compressing. You would need air bags that either replace your spring or sit next to them on the axle and supplement your springs.
Hey boss nice truck. What lights do you have on the front grill? Are they the rough country ?
Hey thanks and yes its the kit you can get.
Very helpful
My ram is lowered but definitely needs something added for better towing would something simple like this still work?
Yes it should as long as your coils aren't significantly shorter.
@@GreenMountainProjects I had ordered these literally an hour ago and didn't even think about this. I had a 2/4" maxtrac drop installed on my truck... Something is telling me that it won't work. Any idea?
How much was the total weight??
@@lt4rocious400 not sure off the top of my head but normally would have squared my truck a lot.
Why not a test without air and after air?
Mostly because I forgot lol, but let’s just say the skid steer had the truck before bags nearly touching the rear bumper to the ground 🙃
