Seems like a massive install holy crap
@@richardselznick7459 it’s not that bad but well worth it!
Any issues with them?
@@hexvc3119 no they are solid
I just installed this lift on my 2020 Ram Rebel. Now im hearing a knocking noise when I turn or go over a bump. Has this happened to anyone else. Could it be that I need sway bar link extensions...?
You may need to tighten the sway bar connection. I had that happen once to me where after the suspension settled it had a little bit of play and made that same noise.
I just had this lift installed on my 2020 Ram Rebel. Almost immediately I noticed a knocking noise that would happen when I made a turn or when over a bump. I called the shop and they noticed it as well during the test drive. They speculated that I may need sway bar link extensions. Im still running the stock 33" that came with the truck when I bought it. Did you or has anyone else had this same problem.
@@Andrew-h2t I have not but this may be related to how the rebel comes a little taller than normal due to the of road package.
Where did you get the mounts. I to have a deezee head rack and keep seem to utilize the track system that is given
@@Tman102705 I got this additional set off a buddy who didn’t use them. You could probably order these as replacements off their site or eBay. Worst base you could make some and slide a bolt in the track.
Does this still fold up ???
@@kcfyrproof4919 it does! That’s why I used collapsible bins so they wouldn’t interfere.
The piston in the shock on the rear doesn’t need to be covered by rubber boot?
@@aceofhearts4265 no these are not necessary, I personally don’t like them because grit and water will work their way into them regardless and rust out the top of your shocks over time from being trapped. If it’s exposed then it will get cleaned.
How are they holding up 2 years later?
@@teabee44 still working just fine, only had issues with the wire I connected to the frame rotting due to salt exposure. Other than that no complaints!
Does your steering move at all when you hit a bump now? I have the same lift and my steering moves over bumps now
@@styfull mine doesn’t. Did you get an alignment after?
I just had mine installed and it doesn't do this, I do however get a knocking noise when I turn or go over a bump.
Does the lift, plus the beefier tires throw off your speedometer some? If so, how much off is it?
@@solache281 all depends on the tire diameter. Lift and tire width won’t do anything to affect that. For example a 35” tire will have you off roughly 3-3.5 MPH faster when your speedometer is saying 65mpg. The faster you go the more it varies from the actual. The bigger the tire the more it will be off. Go to tire size.com and use their calculator and it gives you the ability to compare the stock size vs new size and shows the speed change you will see.
how to get that 2" hitch reciver ? on atv
@@SG-mr9ic just got a weld on receiver and welded it to where the ball mount was.
Thank you, very informative
I know this is old. But when it was originally connected, where did the white wire with tan line go? It was re-routed to the bed lights but what did you do with the other half of the line?
This continues to your cargo lamp (white light on the third break light that comes on when the doors are open or you hit unlock on the key fob). I spliced the wire in to this cargo lamp wire so it still could feed the cargo lamp and the bed lights at the same time.
@@GreenMountainProjects so it is power to the 3rd light that you rerouted to the bed. So you spliced two wires into the one
@@wgk100 correct!
Excellently done You definitely have a future as a teacher What front bumper is that. I like it. I need something before I hit another deer. Thank you🤘🤘
I appreciate it! For the bumper go to my channel and look for my video on my Move Bumper build. That is what i'm running. This is a build it your self bumper that comes in parts if you can weld. they also have bolt together versions so all you have to do is bolt it up and paint it. Much cheaper than some of these pre made bumpers that come powder coated.
Would I have to remove tires if I’m just doing rear struts?
Yes they would be very in the way.
Are you able to stand on it?
Its not designed for that. I would imagine it could probably support you if you are under 200lbs but by no mean am i saying it couldn't possibly break some of those guide wheels off. If you are looking for something that is structurally built for standing or cargo check out the diamond back covers They are very expensive but they are marketed for parking ATVs on top of them.
The Peragon cover will support up to 50 pounds of concentrated weight like a cooler or tool box. It is engineered to support up to 300 pounds of evenly distributed weight like snow. When driving, there shouldn’t be any weight on the cover. Our solid aluminum design offers robust protection for your cargo. However, it is not designed to walk on or to haul cargo on. Think of our cover just like you would the hood of your truck. The hood is rigid and strong, but you wouldn’t walk on it.
@@peragonenterprises thanks for clarifying!
I ordered the same kit but mine didn’t come with instructions. My mechanic says it’s missing the plates. Has anyone brought a kit missing the plates ?
@@thulk5241 can’t say it happened to me, I would give RC a call and get them sent to you.
Very nice. I purchased one several weeks ago. It’s now July 2, 2024. I had to refer to your video for clarification on some settings as I found their manual directions less than satisfactory. One thing I noticed is you cannot make the unit on the face panel change the diameter of the wire you’ll be using, and I don’t know how to change it from what was said at the factory, which is the same as you have on yours, doing this video post.
How much was the total weight??
@@lt4rocious400 not sure off the top of my head but normally would have squared my truck a lot.
Good video. I’ll be doing the same pretty much. Thanks.
Great video, was doing mine this past weekend. Everything was going well until that damn strut bolt decided to completely snap in half :)
Yikes! That’s unfortunate!
Thank you for including the strut spacer install in this video. The Rough Country instructions are garbage. That got my sub for sure.
Great to hear!
They do sell 7 pin to 4 pin adapters
Would had liked to see them lit up at night?
make a video on all the different setting and how to set them, and the material thickness etc
Also don’t reattach sway bar till front ends done. You was working against the sway bar.
Agreed, I realized that.
Yea that’s why u leave the ball joint nut on lol 😂
Have You Run This On 110v?
Yes, works great unless you crank it up to 15 amps or higher by accident and it will pop breakers.
How does the new rear coil perform vs the air bags that you had installed with the stock springs?
The new coils work great as far as payload but rides stiffer like a 2500. The Bags don't support the load as well but do help the ride quality by keeping it stock. Overall i take the coils any day because they don't ride horribly and you don't have to worry about leaks.
Useful video. I wish you would show aluminum welding as the company advertised...
I would have but i'm not very experienced with aluminum. I don't provide content unless I am confident I am giving people the correct info. I have used the spool gun some and it does work pretty well.
Hi, thanks for the vid. I'm trying to determine the breaker I need to run this. I have an available 20 amp breaker that I can upgrade to 30 or an available 100 amp breaker that I'll need to add a receptacle at the disconnect box
You could run on the 30 if you don't turn the welder up to its full capacity. I have mine on a 40amp and never tripped it out. I added a 40 amp disconnect which is what i would recommend.
@@GreenMountainProjects thanks so much
Great work. And nice truck.
Any noticable rattling from the toolbox while driving? Not so much concerned with the cover, but Id imagine the box might make some noise???
There is no noice from the box. Maybe if you had loose hand tools but it would be quieter than a normal truck bed tool box.
Im sure it wasnt a problem, but you if possible torque all suspension when the weight of the vehicle is on it, bushings can get twisted and end up with premature wear. I learned that with my jeep and torqued everything with the suspension drooping.
I haven't had any issues so far but definitely a good point. Some of these would be very difficult to get to with the tires on.
Just did mine today, good video but you forgot to show just how much of a pain in the ass it is.
Haha you have a point 😂
Thank you for this video. You made the installation so much easier and saves me some money too.
Love to hear it!
What tires are you running and wheels?
The tires are LT295/60R20 Falken Wildpeak AT3W’s. The wheels are 20x10 -18 offset Fuel Rebel Wheels.
Thank you so much for including the torque specs! You have no idea how many videos I watched until I found this one with the torque specs!
Exactly why I did it!
@@GreenMountainProjects So, I think the caliper bolt torque specs are 55 ft-lbs and I got a few mixed results on the front sway bar end links and set mine to 74 ft-lbs but I think that's wrong too. Do you remember what the torque specs for those are supposed to be? Also, I hear a knuckle/clunking noise on the right side when I brake and turn the wheel. I tried to investigate but I don't see anything out of the ordinary. Have you faced a similar issue?
@@HookedonHD I would check your sway bar, I had that happen where it wasn’t tight enough and it was sliding on the connection point making a thud when the suspension moved. Just give them a double check. When you drive on it the suspension settles back down and can expose these being a little looser. As far as torque specs I don’t remember off the top of my head but the caliper bolts should be fine around 60ft-lbs. I think I set the sway bars at about 80ft-lbs.
@@GreenMountainProjects I didn't touch my sway bar just the lower nut on the tie rod end links. I'll double check those again but from what I see I think they should be 26 ft lbs + 180 and I have them at 74 ft lbs. I might change them to see. The reason I mentioned it is that you didn't mention those two so I figured I'd reach out to let you know maybe you can add it to the description. Other than that I really appreciate the prompt response and the video, it helped me out a lot. I hope I'll figure out the knuckle noise for my sake though.
@@HookedonHD I appreciate it, good luck!
Dose the radio you bought have a spot in the back for rca cables ?
Yes it does.
Thanks for the tutorial. I just changed mine out using your video!
My pleasure!
Great video I got a 06 Dodge ram thunder road an I'm looking at doing some upgrades
Go for it!
Thanks, friend. I decided to retire my ancient Lincoln welder and upgrade - but the Yeswelder manual leaves a lot to be desired. Your explanation is clear and concise. I'm up and running.
I appreciate individuals like yourself for vids like this. They save us a lot of money and builds confidence with taking on tough tasks… I noticed you, unlike most, are providing torque specs. I was wondering how valid are these specifications… in other words, i want to know if i can rely on everything staying put during travel 😂 if I copy and paste your Torque specs if/when executing this project.
I appreciate it! As far at the specs they are what I find for manufacturers recommendations. I always go a bit higher +5ftlbs to play it safe.
Thanks for posting this video 👍worked for me
How are they holding up? Curious before I buy
Not bad at all!
Nice video brother. I just picked one of these up and that was good information. The rig used many years ago was much different than this little thing. I’m surprised how well it works. Thanks again.
any primer needed for preparation and clear coat after painting ?
I wanna put front and rear on my a220 but I am scared they catch fire. Do they have any sort of battery?
No batteries it’s powered off your vehicle. It’s not going to catch fire.
My ram is lowered but definitely needs something added for better towing would something simple like this still work?
Yes it should as long as your coils aren't significantly shorter.
@@GreenMountainProjects I had ordered these literally an hour ago and didn't even think about this. I had a 2/4" maxtrac drop installed on my truck... Something is telling me that it won't work. Any idea?
