Amazing patch ideas! Great way to make use of all 16 stages for both program sections with a different order for one section. Also love the idea of using a gate pattern to strobe to limit which stages are voiced. So much potential for complexity.
Thanks for the great explanation and ideas. But could you please exlain your action at 20:50? You pressed DISPLAY+STAGE LEFT. It seems like recalling preset without stopping the sequence. There is no such combination in manual rev2.0 and my MARF does not react for that.
Hi there. That’s part of the overlap programming /AFG section shift that was part of the 2.66 firmware update that came out last year. Here’s a link to the firmware’s GitHub for more info, and I think I go into this in more detail on the first episode of The MARF Files series. github.com/wir35/marf
I've been wanting to build a MARF to pair with my Easel Command for a while now! Would you reccomend a MARF as something to run standalone? I mainly have DIY Serge and Eurorack gear and don't really want to get into Buchla format beyond the MARF and Easel Command. If I were to build a boat with one extra DIY panel next to the MARF, what do you think is the best option the Quad Function or Source of Uncertainty?
I think the MARF is a great pairing with the Easel, especially when you have an expansion card like the 208 Toolbox or Bob to drive the 208’s pulser, envelope, random, and sequencer. It’s a real toss up between the 281 and the 266 and it might come down to a personal choice of what you need/want more of in your system. If I had to choose, I would go with the 266. I like all the different options of random it has that the 208 doesn’t, and the slew limiter can come in really handy.
fascinating, thanks!

MARF works great with Serge. For a while I had one LW voice panel and a MARF together as a little system.
