I appreciate you letting it build before going over-the-top metal with it. Too often I find metal covers just come out swinging for the fences right out of the gate and it can be jarring and garish. Your restraint elevates this cover. Absolute fire.
I had those concerns too, a lot of metal cover artists really miss the point of what makes the tracks good in the first place. This man really understood the assignment and did the original justice.
This song hits me the hardest. Memories of my late dad who used do play DKC2 with me when I was a kid. I'm actually cryin' like crazy right now. Thank you so much for this video, Jules, from the bottom of my heart.
Just hearing the first few seconds, I was filled up with unexplainable nostalgia. And in just those few seconds, it's one of my favorite covers you've done. Incredible
Possibly my favorite song from my favorite video game of all time, and it's being covered by one of my favorite TH-cam video game music guys. Is it mah birthday? This is awesome!
Checkpoint. Your original video of covering this song inspired me to make my own cover, and I love that you made a new one showcasing your progression. Well written and masterfully played my friend.
I've been following you for years and I always found the way you compose video game music very beautiful. I'm from Mexico and believe me, there are many people here who love what you do.
How the hell did I miss THIS? This is should have been a headliner recommendation, and instead I find it over a year later on a whim. Better late than never. Been with ya since the DKC2 Medley was new, my parasocial friend. About damn time you did a cover of this! And just like DKC2, you gave this all the love that it deserved! Just gonna save this video in my downloads folder now.
Checkpoint 10/24. All things end, and they are always sad. One day, all things will be made new, and that will be the happiest moment. In the meantime, I will miss you dearly.
I do not want to start a drama in the comments, but I'll just say that more than a couple rockets have been flying over my house these past three weeks (If you know, you know)@@daltonbruce2053
I love how the squeal echoes at 1:39 and again at 3:46. 5-string bass and 7-string guitar, sweep picking...the rest of my day is gonna be great. Thank you, Family Jules.
The build up and not over the top solo to keep it true to the atmospheric nature of this song made this cover so good! All the little things to make it unique were just perfect and kept it classy like its original! GG Jules !
I never knew I wanted "Stickerbrush Symphony" played by Jules Conroy until I have heard "Stickerbrush Symphony" played by Jules Conroy. You. Are. Awesome. Keep on rocking!
It has been years since you covered this originally. Great to see just how far you've come. This is outstanding. I still, to this day, say DKC2 had the greatest videogame soundtrack. The sheer amount of emotion David Wise was able to get out of the 16-bit systems he was working with are still unmatched. Once again, well done Jules.
My arms are completely full of goosebumps and the weather isn't cold, my friend. As a person who religiously listens to your DK2 medley on repeat, this is such a TREAT!
not only does this hit the same marks that the original theme hits, it goes above and beyond and absolutely annihilates the marks. Once again, Jules fucking crushes it!
There is songs that i like, songs that make me chill the skin, and there is an ultra rare songs that makes me cry. This is one of them. Thank you FamilyJules!
Heck yeah. Wasn't expecting that one. Never played much of DK myself, but I was definitely more than exposed to the amazing soundtrack it has to offer. And this is an astounding rendition of it. Welcome to the metal version of the internet checkpoint.
Low time rn. I needed this. Reminds me of my Mom who passed 2 years ago. This song, game and a lot of your covers have a place close to my hearts. Great work here Jules. Thanks for making it!
Checkpoint: I first heard this cover shortly after you left this mortal plane. One year and nearing two Christmases and I still miss you. Until the day we see each other again in eternity.
You've been putting out non-stop bangers recently. This top 20 video game songs of all time series is already amazing, and I know it's only going to get better. Please keep up the amazing work!
I remember really listening to this song for the first time in your donkey kong country 2 medley, and it always was my favorite part. Today I gotta say, you did this one justice by making a full-on cover Keep rocking Jules !
Your dkc2 medley was beyond amazing and it brought me so so so much happiness back in the day 😅❤ this new full cover is so good, I can see the effort and time and care you still put into your covers
I was lucky enough to catch this the day you uploaded it and I've listened to it almost every day since. You made it metal, and still managed to perfectly capture the vibe of the song. You made one of the best renditions of a song that's been covered by thousands of people. Absolute banger.
DK country 2 brings me back so many memories... I remember playing it with my mom, doing a stock each. Even my grandmother played from time to time. Dont cry because its over, smile bc it happened :) thanks for uploading one of my fav songs from video games.
If this song doesn't convince people that video game music is the best kind of music then I don't know what will... Amazing arrangement! You truly lived up to the great legacy of the song!
This brought actual tears to my eyes. I've been listening to your work for 15 years now Jules. You've come such a long way from the dude who was making covers in his bedroom with posters everywhere. I loved them then but the quality now is unprecedented. You really are living your best timeline.
You know what this world needs? A cover or even a collaboration of the Captain Falcon theme from F-Zero GX, by FamilyJules, and anyone else tough enough to take a Falcon Punch. There's a gajillion bangers in the OST of the entire franchise, and plenty of room to show it off with a bunch of features. I think this Stickerbrush Symphony cover is proof enough that FamilyJules can handle faithfulness to source, and make solid references/enhancements. This entire listen was an emotional journey, and you used the metal genre to extract as much as possible out of that.
I remember seeing you live at Palladium Worcester with Thunderforge and I just never put 2 and 2 together that "holy shit that's the dude who makes the sick Mega Man X covers". This is so sick dude. Love it. Keep up the amazing work!
You are definitly got this video out on time! I was whistling this song at work. It just so happens I came across a Lego Donkey Kong set while working at a large distribution store. Now I see your VOD. I really do think that these come in 3s
I had never stopped everything I was doing to click on a video this fast. Such an amazing rendition of an awesome song of my favourite game ever! I love it so much!
Oof, probably my favorite song of the entire SNES library, which is a huge statement, given the countless amazing soundtracks it had. Jules, you're a KING for covering this. 🎵💜🎵
I absolutely love this cover! It has a relaxing feel to it, yet still exciting with the loud guitar playing out, drums in the back, and everything! It sounds amazing and the fact it’s not some crazy fast super intense metal remix only enhances it further. Thank you so much for such an amazing cover!
Checkpoint: 10/24/2024
For years I thought the only person who could make a good metal cover of Stickerbush was GaMetal.
Today I learned otherwise.
Same.
Damn it's a time traveler
Today is 10/31/2024. Time to check in?
I appreciate you letting it build before going over-the-top metal with it. Too often I find metal covers just come out swinging for the fences right out of the gate and it can be jarring and garish. Your restraint elevates this cover. Absolute fire.
SPOILERS OMG! hahaha i can't wait for 2 more minutes!
Yeah, it also helps that the original version of the song had a similar buildup
foreplay is important
I agree. Out of all the renditions I've heard of this soundtrack this one by far is one of the best
I had those concerns too, a lot of metal cover artists really miss the point of what makes the tracks good in the first place. This man really understood the assignment and did the original justice.
"OW!"
~ Diddy/Dixie Kong
I remember this way too much😂
Holy shit. He did it. He really did it.
You've reached the next internet checkpoint
This song hits me the hardest. Memories of my late dad who used do play DKC2 with me when I was a kid.
I'm actually cryin' like crazy right now. Thank you so much for this video, Jules, from the bottom of my heart.
I'm sorry for your loss. Having a parent that loves to spend time with their kid gaming is one of the best gifts a parent can give hands down.
Makes me think of when my brother and I played together when we were little. Such better times.
God bless
The power of music helps keep those memories alive, and so long as they live on so do those who have passed on.
That's powerful my friend.
Surely, music can take us back.
I do remember how I felt, what I smelled.
Internet checkpoint start?
Feeling good today. Lazy morning. got some work done. talked with parents. good day.
The "checkpoint" people are here.
Achievement Unlocked: Childhood Retroactively Enhanced
Heh...Retro...
The Elite DK Nation will use this as our national anthem going forward
1:38 This is why knowing how to pick squeal matters. That moment is priceless.
YOU JUST MADE MY DAY, WEEK, MY FUCKING YEAR
Just hearing the first few seconds, I was filled up with unexplainable nostalgia. And in just those few seconds, it's one of my favorite covers you've done. Incredible
Possibly my favorite song from my favorite video game of all time, and it's being covered by one of my favorite TH-cam video game music guys.
Is it mah birthday? This is awesome!
There isn't a single "Donkey Kong Country" cover that you've played that's ever disappointed me! Keep up the good work, Jules!
Checkpoint : Just signed the 2nd year lease on my home and finished paying off my car.
Checkpoint. Your original video of covering this song inspired me to make my own cover, and I love that you made a new one showcasing your progression. Well written and masterfully played my friend.
No matter how many times i hear this song, it just never gets old. Fantastic remix!
One of my absolute favorite video game songs of all time, to my favorite game of all time.
Well fucking done my dude.
I've been following you for years and I always found the way you compose video game music very beautiful. I'm from Mexico and believe me, there are many people here who love what you do.
I had intended to come here to chastise the added R in stickerbush but honestly the cover is just a fucking banger as usual Jules
Ayyy it was fixed. OVERALL W
Bruh seeing this video drop was like hearing bramble blast in smash bros brawl for the first time
How the hell did I miss THIS? This is should have been a headliner recommendation, and instead I find it over a year later on a whim. Better late than never.
Been with ya since the DKC2 Medley was new, my parasocial friend. About damn time you did a cover of this! And just like DKC2, you gave this all the love that it deserved! Just gonna save this video in my downloads folder now.
Wow.... That made an already amazing song even more amazing. Surprised you pulled that off!
One of the best soindtracks for some of the most infuriating levels in that game
never in a thousands years did I imagine hearing a metal cover of stickerbrush symphony of all things
It's Stickerbush without the extra R. It's what the bramble plant is in Bramble Scramble
Absolute memories..And one of my absolute favorites! The DKC 2 soundtrack was never a miss with it's vibes. This is a masterpiece.
Checkpoint 10/24. All things end, and they are always sad. One day, all things will be made new, and that will be the happiest moment. In the meantime, I will miss you dearly.
I have no nostalgia for this piece, but this is an incredible performance and arrangement. No surprise, coming from you.
This song is the only thing that can put me to sleep for the past three weeks. I can't be more thankful for you doing a cover to this song!😊🤩😊
You might wanna go get that checked out
I do not want to start a drama in the comments, but I'll just say that more than a couple rockets have been flying over my house these past three weeks (If you know, you know)@@daltonbruce2053
Stickerbrush symphony or forest interlude for me, if im ever trying to sleep in a car or something and i need headphones to drown out a sound 😴
I've been using stickerbrush symphony to sleep too lol
You never seem to lose the essence of the original tracks while embellishing. Thank you for sharing your incredible work, Brava!
いまだにこんな素晴らしいカヴァーが投稿されるんだから
ホントとげとげタルめいろは名曲だなあ
Bro u made me cry man how dare you! 😂 That was beautiful man
Checkpoint. This is still one of the greatest tracks in gaming and you have absolutely nailed it.
I love how the squeal echoes at 1:39 and again at 3:46. 5-string bass and 7-string guitar, sweep picking...the rest of my day is gonna be great. Thank you, Family Jules.
Jules out here retroactively making our childhood cooler 😎
Ah, the best song from the best SNES game ever created. The slow build was entrancing and the payoff was epic. Gave me goosebumps! Incredible job!
It's Stickerbush without the extra R. It's what the bramble plant is in Bramble Scramble
It's kind of fun to see you doing a duelling lead type deal with the leads this time around!
You top a masterpiece! Stickerbush Simphony is my favorite videogame OST of all time, and this metal cover is far beyond amazing!
This might be the greatest video game song there is, most people never got far enough into dkc2 to enjoy this masterpiece
The beginnijg was brilliantly done!!!! Really great job with this!
To my opinion, this is one of the best covers you have ever made, it's simple beatiful
2:43 was so unexpected but so VERY welcome. You did an incredible job with this one Jules. Excellent.
It has been years since you covered this originally. Great to see just how far you've come. This is outstanding. I still, to this day, say DKC2 had the greatest videogame soundtrack. Love when I get to travel back through childhood memories DKC2 was my favorite SNES game thank you for this

Literally one of the best things I've ever heard as it takes me back so far to when I first played the game. Thank you for this.
Love u broda... been watching you for years!!

I remember really listening to this song for the first time in your donkey kong country 2 medley, and it always was my favorite part.
Today I gotta say, you did this one justice by making a full-on cover
Keep rocking Jules !
Standing ovation! Just came off the video of the big doom collab with Jonny & Co. This is a wild ride today, and it's blessed!
No joke, this brought a tear to my eye. Thank you.
After that epic performance, I bet you could raise the bar of gang plank galleon. Awesome stuff!
3:03 you cannot just sneak in the Phil Collins drums in here and think I won't notice it

Stickerbush is by far the best soundtrack of all games from that era, what a masterpiece
Criminal this video doesn't have a million views
If this song doesn't convince people that video game music is the best kind of music then I don't know what will...
Amazing arrangement! You truly lived up to the great legacy of the song!
The atmosphere, maaaaaan!
OMG OMG YOU COVERED THIS
Those tapping arpeggios at the beginning are GODLY!
This brought actual tears to my eyes. I've been listening to your work for 15 years now Jules. You've come such a long way from the dude who was making covers in his bedroom with posters everywhere. I loved them then but the quality now is unprecedented. You really are living your best timeline.
Got to see you live at Magfest and gotta say I love how you make all of these iconic game themes your own. Keep killin it!

Wait, wrong video
YEEEEEES I was hoping for palm muting to kick in during 2:09! Love that crunchy Guitar, it fits PERFECT.
RichaadEB: Gayshit Sexshrek
Jules Conroy, a scholar of culture:
Cant wait to see you touch on all your old medly vids ;) Perfect Dark and Bomberman 64 are still on my play list to this day
I am just glad you spelled the song's name correctly 😎
I was also quite surprised
remember, people: it's stickerbush symphony from diddy's kong quest, NOT stickerbrush symphony from diddy kong's quest

Been knocking it out of the park lately, Jules!!! This rocks!

Jeez, this is lovely...greetings from Brazil Jules o/
Honestly surprised it took this long for you to cover this one.
I had never stopped everything I was doing to click on a video this fast. Such an amazing rendition of an awesome song of my favourite game ever! I love it so much!

This is incredible! I absolutely adore this track and seeing the Jules twist on it was hype as hell!
I'll never forget the first time I listened to your DKC2 Medley. It's always been my favorite of yours
Thanks for keep this great classic alive 8). Your medley from this tracks are awesome!
Respect the OG & still slayed that metal cover 🤘😎 2:24 it was getting seriously more metal & I'm here for it
I remember hearing this at magfest and it being one of my favorites from the set.
