Karen I had not seen this tutorial and I’m so happy I did. I will be attempting this for my beautiful granddaughter Kendall’s 9th birthday. I know I’ve said it before but I have to mention it again, I love all of your lovely card ideas. Thank for sharing them with us.
I made the card you demo’d at o.d. 5:58 for a granddaughter for her birthday, with a few modifications. My insert into the bottom of the interior held a rectangular compartment on its backside, just the right size to hold a folded check, tethered to a pull tab in the shape of a heart. The sentiment was, in essence, “You tug at our heart strings. To receive your birthday present, pull on these heart strings, gently.”. Bless her heart, she was so taken with the end product, she texted us to get instructions on how to open it and retrieve her gift. When she’d done so, she was so awestruck as to exclaim in her text “This is so C O O L !! I’m keeping this one for always!”. Thx bunches, dear Lady, for a memorable gift.
And that’s why we make our own cards!! Thank you so much for sharing that special moment - I love it! That’s a great idea you had about the pull tab and heart strings and such a fun way for her to get her present. Thank YOU so much! 🤗❤️❤️
How I love your funfold cards, Karen! Can‘t wait to make one. Thanks for this tutorial and your absolutely clever tip to put a masking tape on the scoreboard 🤩 that‘ll be a gamechanger for me 😂❤
Love seeing cards made from Paper Rose design papers. They are my local company. Beautiful interactive cards. I will definately give these a try. Your work is so calm and methodical. It's a joy to watch. 😊
Thank you so much Merel! Somehow, that card with the vellum leaves coming out from behind the sentiment, and the bits of ribbon, makes me think of a ballerina’s tutu! 😄💕💕
Thank you so much Beth! That paper really is beautiful and I hope you have lots of fun making the pop up card. I’ve been having a little more fun with it too. 😄💕💕
Oh, thank you very much Gwen!! I’m so glad you’re here! That is a fun interactive card, isn’t it? I love the possibility of hiding something in a card. 😄💕💕
Another wonderful interactive card. The paper is beautiful. I never can figure out how to use a full design paper. I find it so difficult to cut up pretty paper but like your ideas . Maybe I will get brave !!!
Thank you so much Jane! And I know exactly what you mean about cutting up the paper, especially these beautiful ones. But in the end, instead of only having the one piece, I had 5 cards to share with others, and still one piece for me! 😂💕💕
Wait?! What?! I was all as soon as I saw that embossed card front. I’ve watched thousands of cardmaking videos. I’ve actually embossed patterned paper and it looks beautiful. However, I’ve never seen it where a large area is plain showing off the embossing. I cannot wait to try that technique!
Beautiful and creative as usual!! I have to tell you how both soothing and encouraging your voice is - I always end up convinced I can do it! Thank you so much for your inspiration.
I second this sentiment! I normally don’t give more than a cursory glance to videos using “Pre’s” (precuts, pre-prepareds, “cut & pastes”), but recently, while traveling - AND without crafting goodies! - I resorted to pulling together a “cut & paste” birthday card. Curiously, I was actually rather pleased with the results. Btw, thanks bunches for a delightful video; always the joy of my day when I find one from you, Karen!!
Absolutely gorgeous cards. I really appreciate how much time you take to put these videos together. I just can’t imagine , however thank you for your inspiring work.
