3D Embossing Folder BLACKOUT Watercolor Technique for Card Making

- Hello my crafty friends. In today's card making video tutorial, I'm using 3-D embossing Folders and a watercolor technique to create these beautiful Blackout Technique cards. These cards are super easy to create and no artistic skill required. There are 8 card samples at the end of the video for you too. Maybe we are....The Hallmark store in my rural area closed a couple of months ago. We also have a couple of consignment shops and there are a few card makers selling their gorgeous cards!

I love these cards😍…..I don’t think I have the patience to do the black marker background so when I attempt these cards, I think I’m going to replace the gray archival ink pad step with a versa mark pad followed by black embossing powder. Not sure the end result will be the same but playas gonna play! Lol….can’t wait to try this!!!!
I tried that, it was be extremely dark,
I was thinking this exact thing.
Plus gilding wax highlights instead of gold embossing....
I wondered about black too. I guess we need to try it. When this infection has left me I shall be there. Thank you for sharing. Xx

Maybe you should try the freshest looking splat in the box before touching the actual project? Make an extra Nuvo drop on scrap plastic at the end - if it’s dry you can peel it off and glue it onto something, if not you only messed up your finger and not your card! Now if I could just remember to do that…

Sandi I can’t tell you how much I love these techniques! I followed your tutorial exactly for my first few cards. They turned out lovely! So true about using backgrounds that don’t look so pretty….the cards turn out beautiful. I then made cards leaving out the black marker step and going straight to the gold embossing. Love, love love it! I have spent the last two days making these cards! And I am not finished doing all I want to yet! It’s so obsessive and pretty! Thank you so much for this wonderful inspiration!
