People are saying that its all visual references or characters are just a refernce init of themselves an example would be the penguins from the opening being a "refernce" to the fact uou can kill a baby penguin mario 64 and there for its bad. When in reality i thought it was referncing the enimines in the super mario games from the wii onward since peguins are enemes in that game. Theres also things like luigi emding up in the spooky place and even characters like king babomb from mario 64, king boo, and even just the outfits bowser amd peach wear for the wedding. So yeah people want to hate this movie and are making up shit to make it seem more bad than it really is.

I’m excited for the future Nintendo films For casting, I think they also might want recognizable faces so the promotion could be easier and more attractive. Once I watched the movie, I immediately put Chris as my default Mario, …, Luigi… Toad. Anya Taylor-Joy looks almost like a cosplay of Princess Peach in real life. I believe many kids and parents are like me too. They really try to please all audiences. Fans and also random kids/parents.
The story of mario games is very level by level, the general plot if most games is turtle wants girl, but thats not a bad thing. I think the cast is great its just i think a few things could havs been tweaked and we'd be perfect. And i agree i think the further of this will be fun.
The first ever Mario movie was released in 1986, but only in Japan. Though it's available for free on TH-cam.
