Welcome back to the Heavy Spoilers show, I’m your host Jared aka the poison mushroom version of the guy who usually does this, and in this video we’re going to be going over the ending of The Super Mario Bros Movie. Yeeeaahh- Whhhoooo! The movie is currently collecting all of the gold coins, and in this breakdown we’re going to be going over the plot, the couple ending credits scenes, our theories on potential sequels, along with our thoughts of the movie.
Be prepared, because Heavy Spoilers are warp pipping to you, so if you haven't had a chance to watch it, then I highly recommend you backwards long jump out of here. Please ground pound that thumbs up button and also make sure to subscribe for daily breakdowns.

Alright so The Super Marios Bros, quickly opens with Bowser wreaking havoc on the penguin’s ice kingdom, easily stomping them out, smashing a glowing question block, to reveal a Super Star. This scene was actually already released as we triple jump over to Mario and Luigi. Now in Brooklyn, none of this New Donk City folks, as they deal with their struggling plumbing business.
The pair left steady jobs with Wrecking Crew. Yes, the same 1985 Wrecking Crew, Foreman Spike even makes an appearance. On the evening ne ws, the pair sees a crucial water main leak downtown, and the two head out to drain some pipes. However, upon searching for the source of the leak, the Mario Bros discover abandoned pipes, one of which is your iconic green warp pipe, as the two are sucked in one by one. This kinda looked like the universe jumping from the Across the Spider-Verse trailer, as Mario lands in the Mushroom Kingdom

I love Peach's origin story. She somehow found her way into the Mushroom Kingdom, and the Toads took her in and raised her. Then after she grew up, they made her their princess. I think that is really sweet. It makes it feel like the Toad's are more like family to Peach, instead of them just being her subjects. I loved this movie so much!
I agree Peach's origin is amazing and really cute.
Isn't that just Rosalina's story?
That makes wonder, was Toadsworth the King and decided to retire and hand it over to Princess Peach and takes a vacation?

I stayed for both of the post-credit scenes in the theater. My favorite one was Tiny Bowser singing Peaches. 😂

@@lalotime how, story wise if u were sucked into a alternate dimension why would u care enough to save a princess from a dragon king, u don't even know these people enough to wanna risk your life for them, that's why having Luigi be the damsel in the first movie makes sense because then mario DOES have a reason to risk his life,

i really enjoyed the movie much more than i expected to. the characters are great (my fav being peach and dk) and the plot flowed really well. the knods and different easter eggs were really nice too. I loved hearing the gamecube ringtone. Overall, as someone whos played just about all the mario games, I really enjoyed this movie a lot

I'm kinda predicting that in the sequel, maybe the brothers occasionally visit Brooklyn, and on that visit, Luigi finds a Yoshi and maybe have a Mama Luigi joke.

Haven’t been to the movie theater in almost 10 years but my kids really wanted to see this one. We all totally enjoyed it. My favorite part was seeing all the villains show up to the wedding! 😂 KING BOO!!!!

Watched it today and can comfortably say it’s the best movie of the year so far. Had a blast, loved the Easter eggs and the Mario kart scenes gave me a massive smile on my face. And Peach was my MVP personally. Brilliant work all❤❤👍🏿👍🏿
You’re right! I think won’t be better than Spider-Man when that comes, but it was such a fantastic movie. Very fun and definitely rewatchable. I’m looking forward to the sequel!
This movie was so well made! I love everything about it, the animation, the voice actors they chose, the cameos, it's all great! This film is definitely a 10000/10!
The best Easteregg was at the Underground Section were the underground theme plays there was a little sign and on it stands Level 1-2
They’re definitely setting up something related to Mario galaxy with what peach said
Not only that. She said "several galaxies", plus the tunnel was busted open and they merged over into Brooklyn. They can crossover with other worlds outside of the Mario Bros. realms. They already have connections with Donkey Kong established.
Now all you need is some clever writing and boom crossovers. But it was established in the first film.
Luigi wasn't captured by dry bones..... he was captured by the shy guys

Me and my little brothers went crazy during that scene I was not expecting them to be seen in the movie but I did think about it… I’m happy to see them. I hope we get some Toad and Toadette scenes in the sequel. We need Toadette now especially since they showed off king bomb-omb king boo unexpectedly at the end.
I went into this movie without expectations, considering the franchise outside the beloved consoles has always been hit or miss. Honestly, this is objectively one of the best kids' movies I've seen in quite a while. It doesn't drag, it knows who is watching and who its audience is. It's solid story-telling, engaged voice acting, and just an absolute joy to watch from beginning to end. Frankly, it's a breath of fresh air. Hope they continue to do well!
I want to say the original voice actor appears right after the commercial when they were talking about the fake accents lol I could be wrong but I think he shows up twice, wearing what looks like a vintage Mario outfit.
He's also their dad

Yea it was the little things that got me like with the Mario cart scene how he did the short drifts to get that lil speed boost just had me cheesing a lil bit

The spanish version of Toad was fun. Didn´t had that raspy feel but the witty one liners really made up for it. I agree passing and narrative feels a bit fast but that aside is a very wholesome and passionate project.
I specially loved the "Que va a llevar joven? Tenemos huevitos al gusto." scene with the Toads at the entrance of the castle.
I like how the incorporated the super Mario bros super show theme. That was really cool for me.

Nobody is talking about Luigi's ringtone being the Gamecube startup sound! That was the greatest Easter Egg of all!

Honestly I absolutely loved it. I felt like a kid all over again laughing to the point my eyes started leaking. The nostalgia was fantastic definitely excited to see where they go from here
I’m 40 and this is just like a movie I’d have watched and loved as a kid. Took my 4 year old girl to watch it today and she absolutely loved it.

Loved it! Luigi’s Mansion would make a great follow up. Mario is missing and Luigi has to take center stage to find him. I want it now! 😉👍
I liked the implied familiarity and that situations resolved themselves in 30 seconds or less because I feel that is how video games run. This was never intended to be a “the last of Us” style character development adaptation of the Mario Brothers. We skip the problems and enter the next set piece and action scene.
I agree that this wasn't a perfect t movie, but I enjoyed it a lot more (I am the adult that brought five young kids to see the film) than I really expected that I would.
It's just modern movies are so bad, that's why this was a hit. In the 00s, around the time of Shrek, nobody would have liked it.

I love it when there is a guy in the shop asking "is this thing gonna work?", and the guy replied "yeah, you just have to blow it" LMAO that is what I always did with my Famicom cartridge when I was kid and it always work!

This was the first movie i didnt mind at all with kids moving around, laughing, teens chatting amd giggling and even a baby crying now n then; this movie was fun and jus made for a easy chill experience, i had a blast

The 'poisonous' mushroom that Mario uses in the DK arena fight and that they use on Bowser in the end is a mini mushroom from the super mario bros games!

If Bob Hoskins were still with us, along with John Leguizamo, it would of been awesome to have em as Wario and Waluigi. Very fun and quick paced movie. Kids are going to eat this one up and adults will get a kick out of it. I think overall the movie did very well and has a bright future ahead

Wish there would have been a little more of luigi, exploration,and inexperience with the bros. At the end they just turned into experts and accepted their fate of living in mushroom kingdom. And if there's even a sequel we prob won't get anymore inexperience of the world lol
Never say never. I think the sequel will deal with their bond more, like say Luigi dealing with him being overshadowed by Mario for example.

Toad literally was the highlight for me.. everyone else did a wonderful job, don’t get me wrong I loved everyone’s performance. But I’m definitely ready for toad and Toadette to be Mario’s best buddies in the sequel
