1. Blow open a vault door? You mean one of those massive, super-secure gates? vault doors are typically described as extremely robust and designed to withstand nuclear blasts. 2. Fallout series has not typically depicted vaults as being interconnected in this way. 3. Outerworld? That's another game, it's called The Wasteland. Besides that, good stuff.
Have only seen the first two episodes so far and not spoilering myself with the entire recap. But about your second point: You are right, it is not "typical" to have vaults that are connected like this. We have one example of two connected vaults with the case of vault 81. From the first two episodes, I presume that the experiment in this case is having two isolated societies devolop side by side, with the additional problem of genetic diversity, which forces them to exchange people from time to time. I can only theorize what the experiment was or what the "justification" towards the dwellers for these parallel vaults was. But I assume the latter was "If we have two societies that have little contact, then for example a plague can only destroy one of them and the second is a failsafe to rebuild the other and later america". As for the experiment, It could be one on the acceptance of arranged marriage due to genetic reasons. Or one about alieanation/integration effects of people that abandon their old life for a completely new society. Or many more. In a sense, there is not really a "typical" Vault regardless. The only thing they all share is that it is a fallout shelter with the a (regionally a bit differing) vault tec interior design. I thought about mentioning that there is an overseer, but there is at least one vault with 2 overseers. I would not be surprised if there is one with none, too. Like an experiment on anarchy or direct democracy or something like that.
1- They didn't, the one scene where they "blow up" a vault door was when they blow up the passage between Vault 33 and 32 so the dwellers couldn't chase them. 2- Only Vault 31, 32 and 33 were interconnected due to the experiment being conducted in there. Every vault had their own gimmick to test and experiment on their dwellers, the experiment on the show's vaults was to create the perfect managers and leaders to establish a new civilization on the surface. Vault 31 was full of management prospects from Vault-Tec and Vault 32 and 33 was their training grounds to prop up successors. 3- From their perspective, yes, the Wastes would be essentially a new planet, so Outerworld fits.

18:52 Lore-wise the BOS would be far more Educated about Vaults. Also a Night of Radiation going into the Power Armor isn't even enough to cause long term Cancer.
In the games, the VAULTS are all different with one similarity: all are really a means of (extremely unethical) experimentation. In the television series, Barb Howard (Cooper's wife) says she worked hard to get them into "one of the good [vaults].' By "good," she could have meant that whatever the social experiment, the living conditions were good. However, she may have been pointing out a disparity in the quality of the shielding of the vaults. Vault 4's inhabitants show evidence of (possibly-radiation-induced) mutation, but there are several other possible explanations, including that the original inhabitants of Vault 4 purposely induced mutation, that some vaulters were taken in from the Wasteland, that vaulters come and go from the vault, and that there is probably interbreeding between populations. We never see post-apocalypse Barb, but Cooper believes that she and his daughter, Janey, are still alive. He reveals that he believes that Hank MacLean knows of their whereabouts. The supermanager experiment (Vaults 31-33) was a "good" setup (for Vault-Tec execs) and Hank knows its whereabouts. It's possible that Vault 31 is Barb's and potentially Janey's location, if alive. Since Janey was with Cooper when the bombs initially fell (on Los Angeles), it is hard to say how he would not know of her whereabouts, but there is 200+ years of missing story. Moving on to Lucy. The fact that her father played a critical role in the bombing of Shady Sands (New California Republic capital) after it had successfully risen after the initial global devastation, clearly shakes her core beliefs. The series highlights for me are the character arcs of Lucy and Maximus, and the fact that Vault 4, free of their Vault-Tec experimenters, have developed a culture that (like the NCR) helps others and carries out what Lucy was taught the mission of her vault was supposed to be.
.' By "good," she could have meant that whatever the social experiment, the living conditions were good. She means the one that are control vaults, which like an experiment is the one that dont have any experiment due to the need of having default variable.
This is basically a Star Trek Next Generation episode called The Brinloidi, where one group of aliens is highly cultured and the other group is like backwater Irish Hillbillies but it all works out (as it always does in Star Trek episodes.)
The thing i dont understand is how didnt they know it was raiders on the other side? We learn that shelter 32 was destroyed long ago, yet the supervisor of vault 31 and 33 didnt know that raiders were there? While they were probably very aware of what happened in vault 32.
True plus everyone from vault 31 should have immediately known they were from the surface. Since they have knowledge of both vault 32 and 33, big plot hole.

@@DoinkSmokers Unfortunately alot of people are ignoring that the show has basically nuked both literally and from lore wise, the west coast factions from NCR, Follower of the Apocalypse, West coast BoS and minor factions are no where to be seen making the west coast a devoid od civilisation as the east coast. Plus major changes the the BoS even more so from FO4, the BoS has lost all sense of Brotherhood. These now a "cure" for ghouls going feral (witch could have been a major story point). New vegas baby! Glad they went with the modern fallout and not the classic. These recaps always make the movies/shows seem better than they actually are. Can anyone tell me if this is actually worth watching?
Classic fallouts had a way better story line, the new ones are basic and lame af. "oh no we need water dad is scientist turn on water", "oh son kidnapped son is big evil wanting to make synths out of everyone", both of which are boring and only focus on one small storyline that doesn't affect the future of the whole of that part of America but rather a measley 50 people.
so maclean and maldaver both knew each other. THEY WERE IN THE SAME BUILDINGS 200 YEARS AGO! why allow them into the vault knowing who and what she represents? why isnt anyone talking about this plot hole?
I haven't played the game so I'm not clear o the lore. If they were in the vaults 200 years, why are the ruins of civilization still so well preserved? Why are bodies still everywhere?
I'd assume the same reason the roman coluseum is still preserved and the bodies of pompei. also a lot of the buildings could have been rebuilt over time
Well you see in Fallout 1, 2 and New Vagas the NCR and other factions made great effort to rebuild from cleaning up, farms, clean water, power, some vehicles, army and all the things that a "modern" society would need, its only when Bethesda got the franchise is when stagnation of lore. We used to separate the West coast (creators of Fallout) to East coast where Bethesda games are taken place. In the game on the East coast its VERY noticeable that these been very little in the way of rebuild or even recovering from the Great Wars. Even after over 200 years these been no Factions or organizations that can hold a candle to the West coast, every "faction" on the East coast are city states. Put it like this if you asked how long since the Great Was was while being of the East side and is said 20yrs, these no reason to not believe it.

Bro universal BRACLET ALIANS BRO I HATE HOW MUCH INACCURACIES THERE IS
What station does this series?
Syfi, ABC, NBC etc.
amazon prime.
In another life their names were Finn and Ray. 🤣
Definitely fallout 4’s storyline idk why people keep saying it’s new Vegas😅, it’s set in Los Angeles but the storyline is from the 4th game
i watched 3 mins of this.
amazon, disney, netflix they've done far too much damage for my liking. I'll never watch anything from them again
so the NCR was already destroyed in this show? and i guess the father is part of the enclave?
THOSE MANIACS! THEY BLEW IT UP!
so maclean and maldaver both knew each other. THEY WERE IN THE SAME BUILDINGS 200 YEARS AGO! why allow them into the vault knowing who and what she represents? why isnt anyone talking about this plot hole?
Bro Maximus isn’t paladin. He’s knight on the end of the series.
People who love fallout?
It’s not a helicopter ITS A VERTIBIRD
Sorry pls don’t hate me for this but I am new to the franchise is the cowboy the ghoul?
I haven't played the game so I'm not clear o the lore. If they were in the vaults 200 years, why are the ruins of civilization still so well preserved? Why are bodies still everywhere?
I'd assume the same reason the roman coluseum is still preserved and the bodies of pompei. also a lot of the buildings could have been rebuilt over time
@@jjfgaming1137 The Roman Colosseum was painted and his missing alot of its outer layer plus its severely damaged.
