Oh yeah, on that topic you could also in theory make a dystopia about k-pop, because as it turns out k-pop idles are often times indentured servants, because what the companies do is that target people too young to understand the agreement their signing and once they've signed it the company essentially gets to control their lives until their 25, at which point they're let go, with little money and no job experience.
I swear, there would be a lot of people TODAY who would be tempted to trade their independence and freedom for THIS scenario. It's a movie that reminded me of the Twilight Zone episode. It was a bit rushed and could have been more in-depth, but it was better than some B movies I've seen, but I still enjoyed.
Don't purchase it, if you have Netflix then you may watch it without feeling robbed if you don't like it.
I really enjoyed the books. If you love sci-fi, the ideas are really interesting.
What's it called please?
Pretty sure this was an episode of *The Outer Limits*
Who was that man in the first scene🫦
It's been prophesied
Can you change the gender in the machine too? Where do I sign?
It's taken elements of The Time Machine, Fahrenheit 451, Hunger Games and South Korean pop music and mixed them up.
I watched this. It sucked ass. no need to watch it. It is way too predictable.
close enough welcome Back Margot gilbert 11:05
Make humanity more peaceful by making them beautiful. Weird logic.
10:42 'writing the words, Smoke Forever' definitely what they wrote 😂😂😂😂
Option :1 Getting a life were am pretty immortal and party all my life
Option 2: have freedom struggle to survive and grow old
I’ll stick with option 1:
well.. in that world at least you get something for it .. unlike in ours ..
Still better love story than Twilight
Why do all YA movies sounds exactly alike?
This is current day kind of.
I'm glad I didn't read this book when I was in my library phase, won't be watching the movie either.
number#1 song played as they were trying to kill the campers? "right said fred, i'm too sexy"
@6.55 is falling from that height, not considered to be a death guarantee 😂
David looks like Brittney Griner
Sooo this basically a dumbed down version of The Hunger Games, which is ok at best, so that makes this movie …..what’s lower than garbage .
the books it's based on were written before hunger games by 3 years. I didn't actually know they made a film of it. I agree it's meh. Book is better, but also YA Dystopian of the era I came of age.
And Hunger Games ripped off Battle Royale before going in a different direction.
sounds like a good story, too bad thats not the story they told.
Holy shit have the YA dystopian genre been milked to death
Someone COPIED a The Twilight Zone Episode from the 1960s! YAWN
This movie was so terrible on so many levels. The lack of a creative title should tell you everything you need to know. The story had no substance and events happen back to back as if they were just bullet points. The villain was a joke, the mystery wasn't a mystery and you can predict every single decision in the movie. The fact that they can spend this much money on a souless movie with no substance is insane. This movie was so bad that I cancelled my Netflix subscription .
TBH i watched this the other day on Netflix in the UK ......was it a pionerring film ...NO it was more like a mix of the Aleiget seiries of films and other sci stuff of that ilk...non the less i did enjoy it as a sci fi fan ..even if it was slow in some parts they deleberatly left the end for some sort of follow up be it another film OR series on netflix ......the thing is with netfix if it dont get the views ( seires or film) then they cancel them so many good shows / series they have cancled after 1 to 3 series NOT many last to 4 or 5!
Makes humanity perfect
There's still Wakandans
🤷♂️
what do you mean?
This sounds a lot like a old Twilight zone episode.
I think I read these books in middle school if I remember correctly the books were uglies, prettys and specials
