John Glover is one of the best actors on the planet. I first saw him in '52-Pickup and have been a fan ever since. He's the ultimate scene stealer. He ads gravitas to any project he works on. He's absolutely brilliant.
Agreed. That film is full of great performances. Critics by nature are lazy. No one wants to step out and shine the spotlight on deserving talent and give them a chance. Not only was John great but also Robert Trebor and Clarence Williams and Roy Scheider. I think a lot of critics saw this was a Cannon film and by an action director, Frankenheimer, and decided to overlook it without a second thought. Well, generations of fans have decided it's a classic. @@slc2466
John glover is an amazing actor- everything he’s done and I’m still working through it is awesome. Personal fav of mine is his role is law and order… but he will always be the best Lionel Luther that ever was or will be
I used to see him a lot at a gym in Los Feliz in the mid 2000's and we had many chats. A very amiable and approachable guy and he just about always started the conversations. So good in 52-Pickup
Thinking back on it, before Smallville, John Glover is like a "Where's Waldo?" for several things I loved or at least watched growing up. - the voice of Riddler in B:TAS - Clamp in Gremlins 2 - Woodrue in Batman & Robin - Bryce in Scrooged (still watch it every Christmas season) - head of the asylum in "In The Mouth of Madness" Then, when I got into Smallville, and saw him as Lex's father, it was like a sign of reassurance that it was gonna be an interesting character with Lionel Luthor. Long-winded way of saying it's always nice to see John Glover pop up in something.
I met John at ComiCon in Philly. He was so cool, and funny, and gracious. He had a booth where he was selling photos and autographs, and he talked with me for about 15 minutes, even though I was'nt buying anythng. He was delighted to hear I was a big fan of "Brimstone" and talked about that. His reps were'nt allowing anyone to take photos, but he let me sneak a selfie with him. I was there the next day, he remembered me and we ended up talking again. Definitely one of my favorite celebrity encounters.
Bill Murray is a true enigma to me. I've heard countless people tell stories about him and it seems like he's either a complete jerk or a harmless joker, depending on who you ask. It's almost like he's one of these people who instantly makes an assessment of you when they first meet you and then treats you accordingly in every single interaction from that point onward.
Comedians are very hard to pin down. On the one hand they could be being a dick, on the other hand they might of thought they were being comedic, and you just didn't get their sense of humor.
I loved Smallville and I am a Christopher Reeve Superman fan for transparency. This entire cast were superb and added so much to my love of Superman or that world. The dynamic between Lex & Clark was superb. But John used to steal the scenes, loved him in the show. Perfect dad for a megalomaniac and twisted genius. Watched him in Fear The Walking Dead and he saved that season to be fair.
John Glover starred in at least 2 episodes of Law & Order Criminal Intent with Vincent D'Onofrio, who was interviewed here not long ago. Great performances! I loved those episodes! Especially the one with Martha Plimpton portraying JG's daughter! Please try to interview her too!
I would be afraid to address Geraldine Page too! She’s the scary trifecta, which makes you stutter inside. Mine was Isabella Roselinni. I could see she wasn’t enjoying herself and didn’t want to bother her. (was still married to Gary Oldman……😐)
Glória said she good actor that when he’s playing his sports like your dad and Smallville you just want wants absolutely hate him. But his natural character is to be loveable in a nice guy and it takes you back by how good he is playing a devilish character.
And you had two shots to spell narcissistic misogynist correctly and blew them both. Oddly enough, a classic narcissist would never consider using the vast wealth of knowledge available at the click of a mouse to check the spelling of a word. 🤨
Love when Michael asks John who was the best actor he ever worked with and then just whispers “ besides me” 🤗

Yep, "52-Pickup" was one of those "Who the hell is that guy!?!" movies. John should have gotten an Oscar nomination for it, at least.

Glover is so underrated. Such a great actor.
I could sit and watch Mr. Glover talk all day! Great voice but his facial expressions are mesmerizing!
Loved both of these actors in Smallville.
This is awesome!! Seeing these two together again!
John Glover has that calming Bob Ross like demeanor when he speaks. I find it very calming.🙂

Just watched "Ed and His Dead Mother" the other day. Glover is fabulous in that.

They should be talking about others having run-ins with the Legend John Glover.
Great answer..He didn't put anyone on a pedestal😌

John Glover has a Cool voice, its both Witty & Slightly snarky
I really like his take on the Riddler on BTAS

John glover doesn’t seem like he’s all there
Who is Geraldine Page?
Just one of the best actresses of the later half of the 20th century.
@@fiarandompenaltygeneratorm5044~ Never heard of her.
@@christopherlh4379 Dunning-Kruger. We'll put on the list with all the other shit you're ignorant about...
guy looks like and sounds like he is stoned
I was thinking drunk, or maybe had a stroke at some point.
yup@@christopherlh4379
Has John had a stroke, or was he drunk during this interview....?
You asked a naccissitic mysoginist if he hated working with another nacissitic mysoginist ;)
