Rick your probly not going to respond but are your going to phx fan fusion? Btw love your videos and we met each other at the phx game on Xpo 😊 keep up the good work
The amount of knowledge you've been getting from owning a store is absolutely brilliant. I like watching the vids to see your progression in being a store owner, bud!
If I find something in a store only a few dollars more than it would be online, then I’ll buy it. I’d rather have it right then and there, instead of waiting for it to be delivered.
I met Chuck at the Kane County Toy Show. What a great guy, has awesome stuff and very friendly! He helped me complete my Resident Evil collection! I recorded some of his booth I’m going to upload later on my other channel
I didnt realize it at the time but im pretty sure the old McDonalds here in Cambridge Ohio was a Solid Gold version! There were neon lights everywhere and they had a 1960s Corvette right in the middle of the restaurant.
Love your videos, Rick! Thank you so much for what you do! I am way over here in Jacksonville, Florida, but want to come and visit so badly! You have inspired me in so many ways! Thank you.
There use to be a 50s McDonald's in Dearborn heights michigan when I was a kid. They did something similar and made them strip all the 50s vibe away and go to a regular McDonald's.
Wow. That's a pretty sweet store! I saw a bunch of stuff there I wouldn't mind buying myself if I lived in that area. He gambled by opening a store in Vegas and it paid off. I guess you could say his move....Makes Cents! 🤑
I've been going to this location since I moved up to Milwaukee. It's because of them I've built a huge Gamecube collection myself. I have over 200 games in the US library and my goal is to have the whole thing.
The Power Rangers movie , and both Mortal kombat movies among others like the Last Action Hero and such have music and OST done by Buckethead (power Rangers theme was done by buckethead on said soundtrack and he did all the music for the og mk movie ost. And last action hero.
That Geoffrey is actually a costume the employees would have to wear whenever they did meet and greets. I know from experience. That thing is like a sauna on the inside 🤣
I watch TH-cam videos at 2x speed. I watched one of yours just now on normal speed and oh man. For some reason I thought you spoke faster lol no hard feelings just thought I needed to say that. God Bess brother.
I used to do the same with some lego city building videos... And wondered why the guy was racing his trains dangerously around his track 😂 then remembered I was on 1.5x
Hey broski. Just ran into your channel. Cant stop watching your vids. So many memories! Now that we’re good buds… I wouldn’t turn down a genesis, two controllers and altered beasts for august holidays this year! I’m in Canada and have no issues paying for shipping. Thanks my man
Visit 3900 Bonney road, Virginia Beach, Virginia. There’s a pretty big toy store at the top of the antique mall. You’ve visited some of my favorites. Toy federation and kapow. Comic Kings in VB is also a great place.
In the early 90's there was a Mcdonalds I used to go to as a kid that was solid gold themed in Columbus Ohio not a official solid gold but it was 50's themed
Thank you I didn’t even know about that TMNT Christmas VHS. I’m gonna have to get that one now for sure. And that Macho Man Slim Jim display that’s been my nickname my whole life “Randy Savage” because my name is Randy.
the classic “I can get it on eBay for that price” 😐 then do it . Put the item back please and have a good day 🤣LMAOO like okay ? Congratulations . Go buy it then ? it’s genuinely funny
the problem is how many customers think that and dont say it and walk out without buying you do have to be competitive still cause $30 in store and $10 on ebay isnt gonna work very long. not this store, but many stores like that dont last long
While I agree to an extent, I also feel that brick-and-mortar locations should price their items below eBay averages for in-person customers. With eBay, there is excessive overhead when selling; most people price their items knowing eBay will take a percentage of the sale, not to mention shipping costs. So, average prices are inflated. For every $50 worth of eBay sales I make, I probably average about $30 profit. If you are in my store, in person, I will pass the savings of not having to list and ship onto you as a customer. There are definitely arguments to be made though regarding the overhead of having a physical location with employees. So its all probably a wash in the end.
@@whosgameisit It depends what it is. as a local location you can do ok charging 30% more for the popular mario/pokemon stuff because people will see it and impulse buy. Maybe some people dont like that but its a reality and i wouldnt want any local place to leave money on the table.
Could I buy this stuff on eBay for these prices? Sure, and I often do, because my area just doesn't have a lot of support or customer base for stores like this. However, I would rather buy from a store like this because I would rather support a local business owner than a corporation like eBay.
consider that on ebay you do support often smaller sellers that cant afford a location or individuals just selling from their collection as well, so its not just a corporation. Ebay has some good sides for the game collecting market
@@LUMBEEPHENOM2012 LOL... and how do you think eBay has become a multi-billion dollar company. You're doing both because eBay takes a hefty percentage of every sale on eBay.
@@PotbellyPunch I did not say to not buy things on eBay. I sell things on eBay. I merely said that I would rather support a small local business if that's an option at that same price, where all my money goes to that business.
@@TheGameBench and a hefty percentage of every sale at that local store goes to the landlord and taxes and the electric company, etc. The point is both are valid and have their pros and cons.
The Mario Bros movie was a mess, but that soundtrack tape is banger after banger after banger. Where else can you listen to Megadeth, Joe Satriani, Queen, Extreme, Roxette, and "Dr. Funkenstein" himself, George Clinton on the same album? Awesome. And that store is awesome, too.
as a kid i suffered a awful head injury and spent alot of time in hospital ,in the kid ward they had a ps1 maybe 2 with a odd game ,yiu played as a ball or marble and you had to balance in the air on different sections ,it made the day go quick but i cant recall the name ,id like to buy it for my daughter, any help appreciated ,new subscriber glad to be here
His jacket is awesome, it's always the tall guys with the nice ecko jackets. I'm gonna buy one Xtra small just to be different. Jk jk, but seriously, nice jacket.
Can I ask a question? Why does Rick always use the word “retro” for old collectible games? Retro and vintage are not the same thing. Retro is “ in the style of something old or nostalgic” but brand new or nearly new. Vintage is varying degrees of old
If you search for retro gaming you will find that it’s not a term he coined. It’s an industry term. Regardless of whether it’s a misnomer or not, if you say retro gaming it’s well understood what you mean.
I’m always amazed at how many really understand what it takes to run a small business. If you are liberal and you think you know it all … start a small business & you’ll be a conservative in no time!
You do have room in the store. You just keep adding stuff and some of it doesn’t make sense for a game store lol. But it’s yours I’m not judging or anything you just always say you have no room and then continue to buy these big things for the store and it’s just a constant cycle.

I haven't been in a while, but I definitely picked up a lot of stuff here back in the day for some good prices. Had a lot of fun digging around!
Love all the old 80s WWF stuff that Rick just glosses over. lol

lol problem with these stores is they're not a few dollars more than online they're like 50% more.
I love going to this store. Tons of great vintage wrestling stuff.
Geoffrey is actually a wearable suit. I wore one when I worked there in the early 2000s
I feel sorry for good guys like these that have to pay pay high rent, man you know how much product you have to sell before they even see any money.

Literally never asked a single owner that question 😂😂
Great looking store
Why was Leonardo singing in a Jamaican accent in that Turtles Christmas video? 😅
I remember when my youngest stopped being into Power Rangers...It's always bitter sweet as they age.
That Geoffrey is actually a costume the employees would have to wear whenever they did meet and greets. I know from experience. That thing is like a sauna on the inside 🤣
Considering it looks like its about 9-feet tall, did you see through "Geoffrey's" nipples?
