Great work, although I could not find in your vid (nor in part 4) the actual work on the replacement of the valve seals and re-sitting the valves -the type of work I love to do- but anyways, I wondered; did you not see or check if there were gas-bubbles escaping from the expansion vessel if overpressure-cap was off? That's how I found out on my Iveco 35-8 where the real troubles were (see my channel). Good voice-over !
Hiya can u supply the valve gaps please and if possible the big end cap torque aswell ?? Have the same engine in a ldv convoy breathing very heavy form the crank breather , so thinking rings , only has 65000 but as a X daf aid think it's had alot of tickover work
also the fire rings dont look damaged to me - no loss of compression, and nothing really to do with the missfire. But after watching more of the video, as you are, you might aswell recon the head with new valve stem seals etc. And at least you have peace of mind.
i wouldnt of taken the cylinder head off mate - the head gaskets very rarely go wrong at all, unless put under extreme heat over heating for along time. The missfire is down to your leak off pipes - almost certainly! Get on google and search for "the leak off mod" transit mk4/5. You need to return the fuel from #1 injector, not #4. Swap the blank to number 4 and use a new long peice of pipe to go from number 1 injector to the back T peice near the filter where the fuel rejoins. Most common problem on transits. The 2.5 di are brilliant engines.
Cold Start Daily cheers mate... I could hear a slight loss in compression when she cranked... cylinder 4 was quite wet when I took the head off. I welcome your advise mate. They are cracking engines .... no obd...☺☺☺☺

and if that area of the fire ring is blowing even a small bit past it without being blown out as such, check the cylinder head for any pitting/warping
Just about to take the cylinder head off one of these engines. Can you tell me if the head is too heavy to lift off by hand? Thanks!
