Xenia and cloves are supposed to be fairly hearty and also possible plagues.
I've got some firework cloves in the nano, guess we will see just what they do.

Man I wish I had included those in this video. I didn't even think of those two. Corals have such a stigma for being difficult but a lot of them aren't too bad. I love watching xenia move and I've never had them go on a crazy growth spree haha never kept cloves but they're on my list!

My first order of coral for my new tank came in cold due to slow delivery...everything but one coral was DOA. Even the Green Star Polyps didn't survive. But... the candy cane coral came back from a small sliver of tissue about 2 mm x 5 mm. Now it's fat, happy and splitting. It's a very hardy LPS coral for beginners that doesn't grow so fast it becomes obnoxious. Nice valentini puffer fish btw, I love them.

I though it was the water source but they kept like that even with new top clean water. Parameters are: sg 1.026, Ph 8.0, Nitrate 5, Phosphate 0.03 , calcium 560, Alkalinity 12, copper 0, iodine 0, I haven't chekcked the other parameters, but magnesiium could be 1345 according to my salt.

If you have the right lighting, your pink cabbage corals will turn green. I had a 70 gal that became filled with the pink. I decided to cut it off the rock and exchanged those for other corals. What was left on the rock grew back green. During that time I upgraded my lighting from t5’s to T5’s with AI primes LED’s. My thought is that as a wounded leather coral began to repair itself, it was able to absorb the algae that makes the green pigment, and now it grows inside the corals. My understanding is that’s how those corals get their coloration. It’s algae growing inside the coral. The green and pink look amazing together.

@@StudioGhibletz I have really no idea, maybe. Anyway, you just have to entertain me ;-D
I never kept softcorals and started straight with stony corals. Because my first tank was only 60 Liter. Softcorals grow to fast and big and dont suit in nano tanks. Actually they looks only pretty in big tank.
In my opinion, it make sense to me to start with easy stony corals in a small tank. You can grow cheap little frags big and switch later to a bigger tank.
Therfore i never have no deal with "BEGINNER CORALS" which I want to get rid soon or later.

I don't think a bounce coral is ideal as a newbie coral as they can cost a ridiculous amount of money, in some cases more then a newbie's entire starter salt water setup. Also your puffy is not exactly reef safe, as it will decimate your snail and hermit crab population, which i think is not ideal in showing off a newbie guide for corals.

Are you a troll or just not paying attention? He didn't recommend bounce coral for beginners he mentions moving up to looking into more "rare coral" Which implies you are moving on from being a noobie. He Very clearly explains the skill increase and confidence increase before moving on to another coral. He clearly explains that mushroom corals aren't just cheap beginner corals and that you can EXPAND into other, more rare variants like the Bounce mushroom.

NO, it is not okay! It is not simple as just “plucking it out.” That is the most stupid and misleading thing you can tell someone new to the hobby.
The Kenya Tree coral will firmly root itself into the tightest rock crevice to anchor itself. There is no way for you to **COMPLETELY REMOVED** its entire foot flesh. If any piece even remains, it will regrow. It is borderline impossible to kill. It is called a weed for a reason.
