    I’ve been keeping aquariums for 6 years, octopus seahorse you name it. But out of all of them, softy tanks have to be my favorite due to the minimal care and the growth.

      I still am very partial to softies due to their ease of care and I like the motion of toadstool leathers.
      I can’t stand the tiny sticks they sell for $300+ a pop when it comes to SPS. Give me something that is flowy any day lol

    thanks for the info ,according to all the pros that hate softies, say they dont need any type of trace elements , just light and dirty water I hate to say it but some of them dont consider soft coral keepers reefers you have to have acro's and million dollar corals but any way my question is what is there to feed them

      Soft corals are great and the reefing hobby has gotten very elitist over the years and big on tech toys thanks to Neptune and BRS pushing so much equipment.
      They usually don’t need to be feed. I use reef roids in my mixed reefs. I’m a softy fan myself. I like zoas and leathers.

    I got a tiny rock with Xenia on it. Not the pulsing kind though. I got them like super small as young polyps and now they have grown like 2X as large and more polyps on the rock than I can count!

    • @AquariumStoreDepot

      Xenias are fun bulletpoint corals. As long as they stay on their island they are good lol. They can grow very fast if given the space to do so.

    "Needs calcium to construct their skeleton" well then its not a soft coral is it mate

    • @AquariumStoreDepot
      @AquariumStoreDepot  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s part of octocorallia which are labeled soft corals and continues to be referred to as a soft coral in the trade. We have a few animals that are labeled as such in the hobby and continue to label them as such until scientists reclassify them. Sometimes they do sometimes that don’t. They don’t use a significant amount of calcium to need dosing unlike LPS and SPS corals.
