People dog the Samantha statue because the show didn't take place in Salem, but several episodes were filmed there! Plus, she's probably the most popular witch in American pop culture. And Endora ROCKS, lol!
Awesome video! My SO and I were looking to take a trip early November, but not sure if it’ll be the same since it’s passed Halloween. How different can it be?
Thanks for watching! Early November is a great idea! You'll avoid a lot of the crowds, but most places should still be open. There is something special about the October madness, but only if your plan is to just walk around. If you want to actually visit shops, museums, restaurants, bars, etc, then September and November are the better months. If there is anything you'd like to see in another video, let us know! We'll be recording another one soon!
We hope you have a great time! A Sunday in early October is *chefs kiss*. You’ll get a feel for what Salem in October is but it will be a bit more bearable than a Saturday near the end of the month. Let us know if you have any questions!
That’s a great time to go! Won’t be so busy that you can’t get in places or overwhelmed with crowds, but it won’t feel like the “offseason”. Let us know if you want any tips/suggestions! Probably will do another one of these videos soon.
The local residents complaining, know that they can only complain so far, without Halloween here, Salem would fold up like an accordion . they have to get other Industries and other forms of business here. I hear often that the factories went away decades ago but I know for a fact that every town has someone that supposed to court and bring in business. I'm from Philadelphia but I wasn't really into Halloween all that much there either. Just not my thing but it is a beautiful area with some wonderful people. But yeah, they leverage everything on this holiday, so the locals do a lot of complaining about tourist but without them, they wouldn't be eating at all and they know it, that's the frustrations
I think most people in the area recognize that many of the businesses survive an entire year from business generated in month of October alone. I don't find that people are complaining about it bringing in tourists, or an annoyance about the types of businesses that are here, it's more of a frustration that during the month of October it is really challenging to get into, out of, and around the city of Salem. There aren't any highways in Salem, so surrounding cities are often impacted as well. All good tax revenue, and good for small business, but can make weekend travel in the area pretty tough.
Hey thanks for watching! I’d say a weekend trip is good! That’d allow you to try a few restaurants, check out the different shops and maybe do a couple museums/haunted houses/tours. Salem feels like a good add on to visiting Boston as well.
Nope! That lot is privately owned by the ownership of those businesses, not by the city, so it's free to anyone visiting the restaurants and shops on Pickering Wharf. I wouldn't gamble by keeping your car there for over the 2 hours, but as long as you're there and giving business to the intended businesses, you should be good!
Cool video, just a little observation bro, ur videos would be even better if when u walk and talk u 'd focus the camera more on the street instead of u while u talk
I appreciate the feedback! Good or bad, comments help our videos! Generally speaking, Salem at night tends to be darker. And yes, some people wear costumes. Hope this is helpful! 😂

I'm going for the 1st time, the first week of September... curious how busy it's going to be then.

@@livingwiththelanguirands awesome, thank you!
Is late Oct really bad with crowds all the time? I'm thinking of making a trip up there right around halloween on a weekday.
Hey there! Good question - Weekdays are not nearly as intense as the weekend. Still will see crowds, but much more manageable.
@@livingwiththelanguirands Ok Thanks. Think I'll park outside and take a train in. Parking sounds like a nightmare.

We don't need it for a month salem residents leave salem when they can

Was that lot free for 2 hrs because you are a resident tho? That’s how it seems at most lots
