    Love the original Tanqueray with diet tonic water and a twist of lime. Refreshing.

    I started my Gin adventure with Bombay Sapphire, and it's the one I usually recommend to Gin noobs, due to it being very..."easy". For myself today though, I prefer Tanqueray No 10 over the other "standard" Gins.

    While I love trying many expensive craft Gins, I have to say Tanqueray and Tanqueray Ten are fabulous Gins and even thought they are mass produced it is a damn fine Gin and I love many fabulous cocktails where Tanqueray does a fabulous job. I also love Beefeater - I love a heavy punch of Juniper and a good traditional London Dry even though I also love collecting many craft Gins. In the end nothing ever beats a fabulous London Dry Gin!! I am happy with a Tanqueray Martini and I also really love the Tanqueray Ten for a fabulous Martini!! Both are well priced and they are terrific Gins!! Love your reviews!! Cheers!! 🙂

      Sounds like we have very similar tastes Christine! Thanks for all the love and contribution on the channel! 😊
      Here in Australia, Tanqueray Ten is actually priced similarly to a lot of craft gins, but it still holds its own for sure! An all time classic!!

    Me and my girlfriend love tanqueray, just picked up a bottle of tanqueray 10 after thoughouly enjoying the rangpur lime variety.

    Hi, just started my Gin journey, kind of senselessly bought the Tanqueray (regular) as my first bottle to learn and explore flavours, and ultimately to make GT that i like. Im very happy with it so far and it seems like a solid foundation, that should help me understand the flavours more due to only 4 botanicals and not so complex flavour. I will have to try no. 10 for sure! Either way, great video, very informative and helpful!

    In Germany the original Tanqueray is about 20€ (32 AUD) and the Tanqueray No.10 about 25€ (40 AUD), which is quite a lot cheaper than yours

    I am surprised by how mild and soft the flavor is from default Tanq, especially considering the 43%

  • @Ctomfly1
    @Ctomfly1 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The classic Tanqueray is 47.3% here in Taiwan, same as the number ten.

    I take a straight shot of vodka, rum, and tequila on a regular basis, but I've only tried Beefeater gin before and hated it. How do you compare it to Beefeater?

    So between Tanqueray No.10 and The Botanist, which was one has a stronger citrus flavour? Hendricks is my favourite gin, I just drink standard gin tonic. Fever Tree Mediterranean is my tonic of choice but I also like Suntory Tonic.

    • @TimandTonic
      @TimandTonic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Without a doubt the Tanqueray No. 10 is more strong on citrus notes than the Botanist. But to be honest I don’t think you would be disappointed with either 🙂

    • @TimandTonic
      @TimandTonic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you like citrus notes then you should give the Suntory gin a go as well (called Roku), it’s very strong on the Japanese citrus Yuzu which is so delicious!

    • @Flashlegz
      @Flashlegz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TimandTonic Actually I live in Japan and have tried Roku but still prefer Hendricks, although maybe I should give it another shot as it was at a friend's house and they didn't have tonic water. Love yuzu in general, there's a few yuzu gins here, one literally just called 'yuzugin' which was pretty good, 47%. I suppose I should also say I like smooth easy to drink gins, but always interested in trying new flavours, great channel btw

    Great reviews thank you, if you are to do a comparison could you try the MGC (Melbourne gin company) against the Number 3 London dry, I have a hard time deciding but the MGC is around $20 cheaper...and Aussie :) Or Fords v's Bulldog, just suggesting, cheers.

    • @TimandTonic
      @TimandTonic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome suggestions! I’ve tried all these before. Stay tuned!
      If you’re getting MGC $20 cheaper that sounds like great value. MGC I find to be a more well balanced rounded gin while London No.3 a bit more of a spice driven profile (lots of cardamom). Hope that helps in the interim 😁

    Hi! My gf and me love to drink gin especially gin and tonic. She likes the classic tanqueray but not the 10. She said, she can smell alcohol more. I think it's because of the citrus flavor which are really present in the tanqueray 10. Do you suggest to add more tonic in a g&T with a gin witch has a higher % of alcohol?

    • @usx8778
      @usx8778 ปีที่แล้ว

      G&T is usually better tasting when you go heavy on the G

    • @TimandTonic
      @TimandTonic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Tanqueray Number 10 is quite a bit stronger than the original so that makes sense (here in Australia Tanq is 40% and Tanq 10 is 47%). I haven’t heard people mention it tastes stronger because of the citrus notes but it’s possible.
      Absolutely if it’s too strong for you feel free to add more tonic. There is no right or wrong answer here it’s all down to personal preference and what tastes good to you.
      If you want to tone down the citrus notes then obviously don’t garnish it with any citrus and try and offset it with a richer garnish like a cinnamon stick or something like that.

  • @johnnyelvis
    @johnnyelvis ปีที่แล้ว

    Even though #10 has more juniper, is it strong to the taste or can you taste the citrus notes more? I have tried the original and wasn't a fan because it was way to much juniper forward for me personally. I like a more mild juniper note or at least other notes masking it more.

    When you mess with GIN and add fruit, its like adding fruit flavor to tequila, .Its wrong.
    I invented a gin recipe at a party 18 yrs ago. 1.5 shots of Gin, 1/2 shot sweet vermouth, 1/2 shot roses lime juice, 3/4 shot of tonic, and finish with ginger ale (1.5 shots) - Drop in large green olive with pit. - all on ice.. add to the end , . I call it 007.
