Nothing wrong with liking quality products. The only market segment they don't cater to is double action revolvers. It's really quite amazing when you think about it. To the best of my knowledge they are the only quality producing manufacturer that covers that broad a share of the market.
The APX when you hold it it feels like it becomes a part of you. Absolutely amazing design. The Storm never took off because it is more expensive than the proven, legendary 92. This is why the APX is priced lower than the 92. I think the APX is one of the best pistols on the market.
@@jamescoburn4058 I have an APX compact 9mm. It's never misfired or stovepiped once after hundreds of rounds from a huge variety of ammo including +p 124 grain. It's higher quality polymer than the Glock.... much harder to break. It's the best polymer compact semi-auto I've used yet.
@@BaronSaturday66 i like how you can take the whole trigger group out, not because I would necessarily want to change the frame, but so I could detail clean it out without having to knock out 500 pins and deal with reassembling sears and springs galore
I love my full size PX4 storm in .40S&W....I dont don't care what the detractors say, for it is a fantastic firearm. Accurate, dependable, easy to strip, and, in my opinion, I find the storm to have a sleek and sexy design.
My 2 biggest gripes on the Storm are the fact it is slab sides in the area where the trigger finger rests (and thumb on opposite side) like most brands). Also the fact the feed ramp is a part of the magwell and it has to be racked hard, if guided forward or released a tad too late, the round gets stuck, takes a gentle tap, but I assume the APX is the same. Also, wondering if the APX serrations would hurt your support hand thumb if you use the grip where your support hand thumb can sometimes rest partially against the edge of the slide. Just wondering if it will F your finger up after a mag or so. (Or maybe train to keep that support hand fully at 45 degrees downward, lol).
Px4 in 40 is my favorite out of all my pistols and you dont have to rack it hard at all and round does not get stuck or jammed and if it does something may be wrong so contact Beretta
Everyone I’ve ever seen review the Px4 Storm has been blown back by the accuracy and how smooth it is. Many people don’t like the looks of it tho for whatever reason which makes them not want to try it out. Personally I think the Px4 looks way better than any Glock I’ve handled
It’s so refreshing to see a Canadian brother-in-arms doing firearm reviews as there are not that many out there. I own all 3 with my favorites being px4 storm in both 9mm and 45acp. Keep up the good work brother as we need more quality canadian reviews. Just stumbled upon your channel and subscribed :)
I also had Beretta COMBO 92/96 2 slides 9mm/.40 Yes 1 frame and 2 slides, I buy in 1999 ( Y2K) The gun now almost 20 years old and still look new like the first days. Thanks Beretta a company with 500 years old...Italian knew how to make guns! Thank Vkyle91x good video details..Thank you for your times.
2013 $649.00 I have the Beretta Px4 Storm Inox Stainless Steel Full 9mm 17+1. I only suggest replacing the plastic guide rod spring with a Stainless Steel Rod.
Zeke’s dramatic counterpoint makes this video a lot of fun. Your detailed comparative review was greatly appreciated. I have the PX4 and you can emphasize double tap drills to master both trigger pulls evenly. I wounder if the DA/SA is associated with fewer accidental shootings than the DAO striker fired gun. If you have limited funds to purchase and train, then the APX is a good choice.
Was thinking about getting another Beretta Storm in 40 cal. Really like the information on the Beretta APX, will be looking into that ! Love your dog we share the same name 😉
Great video. Amazing that you prefer the APX over the PX4 though -- I don't think the trigger will improve much. Also, you didn't say much about the performance, (recoil reduction), of the PX4. Me? PX4!!!
Many people don't realize what the PX4 is, way underrated in my view, same with the APX. I wouldn't trade any of the three for no glock, SIG, M&P, or VP9 (second best to me) or...........
Great video. I am on the fence whether I should get the Storm or the APX, they both have captured my attention. Thank you for comparing them. I am intrigued by the rotary barrel on the storm and the grip on the APX, when I held it, was noticeable and I love its look. So with that said, I think I am going to have to buy them both. Thanks again for the review (now throw the rope).
I also have a Px4 and SIG P320. When I first saw the APX in pictures I thought I wouldn't like it, till I saw and held it in person. Bought and shot the APX last week. It's my new favorite as well.
I just picked up the PX4 it’s growing into a cult classic firearm. Can’t wait to put it up against my Glock 19 and see which one I enjoy this storm is my only non 9mm piece
by far the best video I've seen in the last 6 months I know it's 3 year old what you doing an amazing job on comparisons I've been looking for the storm and the apx Harold stateside I found ones for about $545
I wish Beretta had just kept the 92 mags for all of these pistols. Literally no reason not to. The PX4 notch is like 1mm lower and the APX mag is ambi cut but you still have to swap the button instead of having a full time ambi button.
I own a P250 which started Sig's Modular frame and separate grip. I took the standard grip off and got a sub-compact sized grip so I have a long barreled short griped pistol for concealed carry.
I can 100% confirm that the creep goes away after ~250 shots. Mine at the beginning felt like a 2 stage trigger, whereas now it breaks beautifully (for a polimer, striker fired gun of course). Regarding the interchangeable grip frames, it would be much better if they allowed you to put different sizes. However, it is a great feature when you want to thorougly clean the entire gun (I do it every 800-1000 shots). Just pop out the trigger assembly, clean it up nicely, rinse the separated frame with tap water and you are good to go.
Good Video. I have two beagles so I feel your pain. Like the comparison between the models. Need to look into the PX4 hadn't seen details on that rotating barrel; thank you for highlighting that feature, have a great day.
Not only can you change the grip assembly for color on the APX but you can swap to the Centurion and Compact assemblies which makes it almost a 3 in one.
I have the Px Storm full size in 40 S&W and absolutly love it. My favorite pistol. More accurate than I am and the rotating barrel really does tame the felt recoil and muzzle flip to the point that shooting the 40 feels like I'm shooting the 9mm in my Glock .
Great video! Not used to seeing gun videos from Canada, but glad to see it! I love your descriptions of your pistols, along with the ocassional break in topic ("ZEKE!"). Keep up the great work! You just talked me into buying all 3!
The major feature of modulation is to allow different frame sizes, some like full size but here in the States the compact frame is very popular and is the first modification a lot of ppl make. ONLY on 9mm series compact frame will not be available on .40cal
Hey, as a fellow Beretta aficionado, thanks for the great video! I own a Police Special 92FS and previously owned a Beretta BM-59, my father has a PX4c, and I plan to acquire the APX in the future. I'll toss you a subscription and look forward to some good content; maybe a more in-depth review of the APX?
Really nice video! Your characterizations of the differences between 92x and APX, especially the fact they do not overlap, is spot on. I have and enjoy both due to completely unique features and shooting experiences. Here we are nearly 5 years later and the APX is still relatively forgotten in favor of the current bloated micro mini with light, laser, optic, extended mag fad😂. The Storm will be acquired soon….
I bought an APX based on the Berreta that I had as an M.P.... I absolutely love it!!... While I still love the M series... this one took my heart lol... well made weapon. I will say this... I have seen in other reviews that the serrations on the slide are too large... but if you are gloved up they are perfect.... glad to see an honest review of this pistol
I can confirm what you said about the 92A1 reset, every time I've been to the range you can't even feel it. You don't know your mag is empty and the slide is back until you pull the trigger and nothing happens.
Really the PX4 Storm had not been made to replace the '92. Like it's predecessor, the Cougar, it's a pistol designed specifically for law enforcement. It's built around the .40 S&W cartridge and for better concealability than the 92. That's also why there are the "D" and "C" versions, that are not so popular among civilians, but are favourite by many police departments.
Absolutely YES!!! I work in law enforcement and till a couple years ago I had a 92 for duty and even a 92 (here the correct name is 98 'cause we shoot in 9x21) as a sporting shooter. Then I received the autorization to change 98 with the new Px4 and duty carry, even in civilian clothes, has change completely. Same affordablity but less weight, less bulk, less complaint and pain during the inside carry.. More accuracy and more operative life (25.000 Vs 50.000 rounds) Sorry for the old 92 but in my opinion nowadays modern guns, expecially strikers, has beaten the italian glory.. still a great weapon, but it was conceived for the army, not for police or law enforcements who has other requirements and ways of action.
You cant go wrong with a Berretta!!! one of the oldest weapons makers on the planet! I own a PX4 storm and the pistol is rock solid and accurate a well built pistol. . I am buying a Berretta APX and giving my Glock to my son.
I hate being a PIA but I believe the ability to change the grip was a part of the requirement of the Dept. Of Defense request for the bid process. The APX was designed to enter the competition to replace the Beretta M9 as the standard US military handgun. They were looking to sell 10s of thousands handguns to be used in many variations to be used by a wide variety of shooters. A single size gun (even with replaceable backstraps), might be too big for the application. With this system (and Sig's), a single gun can be a full size, a compact or a sub-compact. Very practical when purchasing thousands of units. Better to simply replace the grip rather than have 3 completely different size guns in inventory (a logistical nightmare.
The reason for the modularity of the APX is to allow the owner the ability to change the overall size. That feature allows you to make it more concealable without the need to buy multiple versions of it. Add I the changeable back straps makes it a much better handgun over the Sig and some of the S&WM&P models. Beretta did it right buy making a optic mounting plate for their non milled slides on the APX allowing you to update that model and save money in the long haul. When you compare that to the Sig 320, To me Beretta is the better option.
Ouch, I feel bad for you Canadian guys. I bought my Beretta 92 for $590 I bought my PX4 Storm for $440 and I do not own the APX but our price on it is from $320 to $350. In a way I'm surprised the Army went with the Sig P320 over the Beretta 92, When I think of pistols I always see a Beretta 92 in my mind it is a fantastic firearm. I like my Sig P320 compact but it doesn't shoot near as good as the 92 does, the thing is it is WAY lighter and it is cheaper for the Army to buy the Sigs, which is most likely why the Sig got the contract.
The 92 Will forever remain a classic just like an HK MP5. All replacement Will be based on its success. The Px4 is beautiful. The revolving barrell is pure genius. The APX is an amazing gun, but misses the "bang factor" with impressions and opinions. Maybe because it was a totally different design from previous models.
Thinking about the storm the full size not the compact good video though 👍 I have the Glock 19 gen 5 and also the S&W sd40 which caliber storm would you say is better the 9mm or something like a 45
I too love my Beretta's. 92FS, Px4 in 9mm (2) and 40 S&W. However, I'm old school and just feel more comfortable w/ the external safety which as noted is not on the APX. So I'm I to understand that the ONLY safety on the APX is the trigger safety? Not sure I could ever feel comfortable w/o an external safety. That's just me. I also like a decocker. Nice review.
Please note The PX4Storm serves as a duty gun in many countries. Last time, I saw a number it was 24+. All Beretta's are very accurate and super dependable. You can't go wrong with any Beretta product that is in their current lineup.
Great review of these 3 notable Beretta pistols. I have the Px4 Storm in 9mm, but would love owning the other two. Well designed, accurate, reliable, and durable pistols.
I want to buy my first Beretta soon. Really wanted the m9, but I carry my pistols legally and it looks too big for that. So considering the px4 storm because every other pistol I've owned is striker fired and I want to try out double/single action hammer fired. So it's prob the pxr storm and maybe the p229.
From the looks of things and a creative person if Beretta created an APX new line of firearms of all sorts they would destroy the competition. How? Simply put 380cal.APX,45calAPX, amd sub compact 9mm APX. Now here's the kicker all at least 12 shot pistols. What do you guys think? Agree or disagree? Or am I the only Beretta fan besides you?
Did you ever notice that due to the Feedramp of the PX4 Storm (being the rotating barrel has no ramp) that if you ride the slide, it Jams up? It will fix with a tap on the back, is the APX the same? I assume the ramp, which may even have polymer of the steel plate in the feedramp should have been polished. I've heard that when the APX was introduced at the Showshow event, that they told everyone to "sling shot" the slide, being I assume if you ride it remotely, the round gets caught up a tad. Wondering also how long it took yours to smooth out. You can even try it now.
Like the "Original Beretta" comment, but google the "Beretta 1915", you'll see the beginning of the design of the 92 specially from the trigger guard to the front of the pistol, love the video, from a Beretta fan, big time!
I may end up getting a PX4. I live in California so not a lot of options for me. I'm trained on the Ruger p95. I have about 11,000 rounds through that gun. I'm looking for something similar. The Compact version does interest me a lot. I think my reluctance comes from wondering how reliable it is and also how well the finish holds up. I seen a lot of them take on a lot of wear early on. But those were from pretty old videos tbh. I was thinking a compact type G. If we ever get our carry laws straightened out here I could at least have one that's carry size (I'm 6'3 and I think I could handle it). With the 10 round mag limit not sure between 9mm and .40. I hear .40 is going to be a dead platform but locally it seems alive and well. I wanted an ambi semi auto with the ability to add night sights and a light and or laser for the nightstand. So far it covers my criteria more than the glocks cuz we only get gen 3 here and they aren't ambi like gen 5. The m9a1 and 92fs can't get a front night sight and they are a bit heftier. The CZs are fantastic but also not ambi and way, way too heavy for a 10+1 imho. So I think the Px4 and a Cx4 carbine combo is where my interests lie for now.
Great review, Kyle. I have an APX compact and it's never stovepiped or misfired a single time after hundreds of rounds of a wide variety. You're wrong about the usefulness of the modular feature though.
Which do you recommend between the 92A1 and the 92x and why? It would have a mounted light and be used for the range and possibly home defense. Thank you!
What you don't seem to understand is the concept of a changeable frame. I can change a full-size grip to a compact or subcompact grip allowing me better carry the weapon concealed. Perhaps it is not as big a deal in Canada where you are stuck with 10-round magazines but in the United States especially in a place like Maine where there are no real limitations I can change out the frame for a shorter grip and still carry 10 rounds concealed.
I saw many police officers in California carrying the px4 storm on my trip there. In Los Angeles mainly. Here in Michigan where I live, it's mainly Glocks, m&p's and sigs.
I thought the SIG320 had that frame size switcheroo non-sense because the US Army required some sort of modularity design in their requirements as to what should be submitted for their trials for a new pistol selection?
Excellent review! You cover everything 👏👏👏 I love Berettas for their design, robust build and reliability. The problem I had with the PX4 were the smooth grips with too little stippling. I got better, good accuracy results when I added Hogue rubber grips. So now its perfect. 😊 Nice dog by the way! 😉
One big gripe I have with the PX4 and the APX is that the trigger plunger makes those pistol unable to mount a sight such as a red dot or any sort of gunsight. The plunger is simply outdated, unnecessary and a holdover from the old design of the 92 which makes me question why bother with creating something so new and state of the art such as the PX4 and the APX only to hold them back with a useless appendage.
Very helpful video. Apparently an in depth review to other TH-camrs is to torture test their pistols. I enjoyed this video almost as much as I enjoy hickok45 videos. 9.5/10, (-.5 for no shooting) thank you
gtracer66 it’s because of Canadian laws, the barrel has to have a minimum length to be legal. Beretta extends the barrel to make it available in Canada
Hi Canadian brother! I enjoyed your review of your Beretta collection but one thing most people forget to mention is the pricing? How much for each and plz don't forget the compacts and sub compacts .
PX4 Storm with LTT kit is outstanding. I agree Beretta did a totally crappy job in promoting this line. If they would do a refresh, ie streamline, grip texturing update, optic plate, threaded barrel, I would buy another one. The rotating barrel is also cool and functional.
That’s crazy my px4 compact came with ambi slide stop. And I got about 3 years ago for 500 American before a 75 dollar rebate from beretta so about 425 new.
Buddy the Beretta is in another league than a Glock. Not bashing Glocks, they are good guns, but I carry a Glock 22 gen 4 for work every day and own an APX and wish I could carry the APX as a duty weapon instead.
I have a decision to make about purchasing a compact handgun for home defense. I am considering the PX4 storm compact. Is it a good purchase for a first handgun?
The ORIGINAL Beretta 92 (s) series had a frame mounted safety. Which explains why the Taurus 92 has a frame mounted safety since they are built on Beretta manufacturing equipment. Taurus aquired he rights to build Beretta guns got the equipment in the deal.
I also own the same 3 and I trust my life with any of them. I am a Beretta fanboy and I don't care what my haters say. 👍🏻👍🏻Great video

More accuracy and more operative life (25.000 Vs 50.000 rounds)
Sorry for the old 92 but in my opinion nowadays modern guns, expecially strikers, has beaten the italian glory.. still a great weapon, but it was conceived for the army, not for police or law enforcements who has other requirements and ways of action.
Got a few CZ's, but I am very intrigued with these pistols. Might add one to the collection.
Great review showing both the similarities and differences of all 3.
Do any of the mags fit each other?
No, they don't.
I like my Sig P320 compact but it doesn't shoot near as good as the 92 does, the thing is it is WAY lighter and it is cheaper for the Army to buy the Sigs, which is most likely why the Sig got the contract.
love the review fellow canadian herr px4 storm is my next gun on my list
The beretta 92fs was the absolute most accurate easy to use handgun I've ever owned better than glock 1911 Springfield etc
I have the Cougar 8040 and APX Centurion 40. Nice vid, thanks.
Or am I the only Beretta fan besides you?
best brand of small arms. most safe durable robust and reliable. even glock doesnt come close, much less other brands
Can you please tell me where you bought the APX in Canada for $650 ? Appreciate if you can reply.
That was a while ago. Prices have since shot up
Like the "Original Beretta" comment, but google the "Beretta 1915", you'll see the beginning of the design of the 92 specially from the trigger guard to the front of the pistol, love the video, from a Beretta fan, big time!
How did you get a px4 with a slightly extended barrel.
It’s because of Canadian law. We have minimum barrel length laws so they make them longer to be sold here
Gotcha. What’s the minimum barrel length? Over 4 inches?
@@Bittlicious yeah it’s 4.17” minimum here in Canada
Gotcha. Arbitrary length imo. But I actually think the extended barrel looks cool on the px4.
Leave the cat alone!
The safety on the Storm i believe is better when charging it kinda holds rather than pivoting down like the 92/M9 ( almost feels sharper if you will )
Great review, Kyle. I have an APX compact and it's never stovepiped or misfired a single time after hundreds of rounds of a wide variety. You're wrong about the usefulness of the modular feature though.
The modular chassis of the apx was a requirement from the US military for their latest firearm contract. Not berettas decision.
Which do you recommend between the 92A1 and the 92x and why? It would have a mounted light and be used for the range and possibly home defense. Thank you!
Buy the APX COMPACT, then a 15 rd mag, + mag spacer, and you’ve got yourself a Centurion too! Great review!
They have spacers for compact to full size now also. I have a Centurion and like it with full size mags and spacer.
zeeeeeek! 22:15. the greatest
whahahaha..
scared the shit out of me
I’d give anything to have the money to have a collection of Beretta’s and Glocks man
What you don't seem to understand is the concept of a changeable frame.
Loved the guest star appearance of Zeke.
I have the storm and th APX , both great
Wich Is More potent and precise ?
One big gripe I have with the PX4 and the APX is that the trigger plunger makes those pistol unable to mount a sight such as a red dot or any sort of gunsight. The plunger is simply outdated, unnecessary and a holdover from the old design of the 92 which makes me question why bother with creating something so new and state of the art such as the PX4 and the APX only to hold them back with a useless appendage.
Did you purchase the APX Carry single stack?
APX 92A1 and PX4 very good. thank you. nice doggy ...
Am I the only one who has to go get a gun from the safe to watch gun videos 😂
Very helpful video. Apparently an in depth review to other TH-camrs is to torture test their pistols. I enjoyed this video almost as much as I enjoy hickok45 videos. 9.5/10, (-.5 for no shooting) thank you
Fellow Internetuser sorry about the no shooting my local club I shoot at doesn't allow filming for the purpose of putting it on social media
Just got one today! You are right, the grip is sexual! Was comparing to the Taurus G3...no comparison IMO.
“Any of the pistols ZEKE any of the pistols”
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why does the PX4 barrel extend past the slide? I've had 2 PX4 Storm compacts & neither one had a extended barrel.
gtracer66 it’s because of Canadian laws, the barrel has to have a minimum length to be legal. Beretta extends the barrel to make it available in Canada
Prices are high up there in Canada, I brought my px4 storm for $575 a few years ago and my 92 for $749 a few months ago.
About the same as US right now. Probably get a 92 for 600 though.
My apx was 400 dollars, love the apx!
I paid $329 for my APX Centurion
$379 for my full sized APX and I got a carry for $329.
The way you describe the APX grip is how I feel about the Steyr and the Chiappa Rhino.
Bravo complimenti per il video! Saluti al simpatico cane ciao.
Which one is good for women
I think backstraps are more of a gimmick than modularity, although me personally I don’t use either feature
That’s crazy my px4 compact came with ambi slide stop. And I got about 3 years ago for 500 American before a 75 dollar rebate from beretta so about 425 new.
92 A1 comes with 17 round magazines in Florida.
Or Texas..
Does the m9a1 take spx mags
Thank you Glock for the new _"Beretta"_ APX as it is the most Glock-like of all. Hence, why it works the best of all the Berettas.
Buddy the Beretta is in another league than a Glock. Not bashing Glocks, they are good guns, but I carry a Glock 22 gen 4 for work every day and own an APX and wish I could carry the APX as a duty weapon instead.
Where do you sell the ring under the gun(px4)?
I have a decision to make about purchasing a compact handgun for home defense. I am considering the PX4 storm compact. Is it a good purchase for a first handgun?
apx for ever
The ORIGINAL Beretta 92 (s) series had a frame mounted safety. Which explains why the Taurus 92 has a frame mounted safety since they are built on Beretta manufacturing equipment. Taurus aquired he rights to build Beretta guns got the equipment in the deal.
Just curious, what does "Px4" stand for?
‘Pistol’ ‘for’ ‘four calibers’. In italian X means ‘for’
@@alessandroandrico100 what are the four calibers?
eeyyaakk 9×19 mm Parabellum, 9x21 mm IMI, .40 S&W, .45 ACP
Beretta lost to Sig Pxxxx ......How do you like that new Sig that replace Bereta M9?
