Use your cnc to make a serving tray out of it. Cool colors and shapes with it, try and use as much of it you can. Thanks and keep the videos rolling!!

"Not really a bowl, it's more of a platter." No sir, THAT is a frisbee!! lol But honestly when you took it outside I thought for a minute you were going to throw it like a frisbee!! But it is really cool looking and I can't wait for the other side.
I think you need more resin on top and bottom for a true floating look. Also I don't know if this would work but the sticker thing gave me an idea, what if you took the sticker with the wood squares stuck to it and wrapped it into a cylinder and stuck the whole thing in a small bucket container and filled that with resin so that the wood squares would be at the edges and then pour the resin over them so they would really look like they were floating. To save resin you could possibly put a smaller bucket or something in the middle. Maybe you could somehow put them in a circular pattern on the bottom as well and then put the spacer bucket just above them, or maybe if you cut them in a circular pattern of squares in concentric circles, either getting larger as they go to the edge, or just adding more squares as the circles get bigger, OH maybe you could even cut them going in a spiral pattern out from the center. Man, I wish I had the money for a workshop and tools, and resin, and the knowledge and talent to use them all properly.
You should make that other one a serving platter! You should make it to where it could hold a cup!
I'd add handles on the unfinished part and turn it into a tray for the platter.

Make the second one a lid for a funky shaped box made with a couple of different woods. Rounded almost like an oval. Got it pictured in my head, just dunno how to explain it. Imma have to try one now... Doh...😣
I don't know if you already did the 2nd project....as this is an older vid......I couldn't find it...but maybe do a square jewelry box and that as the lid....you don't do a lot of square projects...
The second piece should be a tray for your plate! Like a Breakfast In Bed fancy sort of tray! Which means no lathe work, but some nice hardware assembly; we haven't had that in awhile... (unless I missed a video)

Make a serving tray out of the second piece. As for how long a project takes you, those of us that live what you do are still here & don't mind waiting. Also, only make something that you're proud of Nick. Don't make something just to make something for a video.
Really cool platter. For the OTHER what about a STAINED GLASS / wood WINDOW? To hang in a window that only gets morning sun since it has resin p.s. I stayed for the waffling so please consider my idea 😆 To add to my💡 add more wood to frame it out. Sand the resin off the wood. Add one more layer of clear resin with cheat glitter added in that final resin for shimmer effect. Or holographic window covering. BUT that looks best by itself with just clear resin so you get the prisms all over your walls Etc

Reminded me of stained glass art that hangs in a well lit window too. My grandmother made stained glass window hangers.

I would love to see you make an art piece from the second casting, like frame it as if it's a painting. Put some LED behind it and hang it on a wall.
i thought it would be good to slice it in half again and use the bits to make matching cupboard doors.
For a little nothing project, it looks pretty damn good. I wouldn't mind if you put out projects every other week, if you think that would help your creativity.
Or take a few weeks of vacation/holiday to recharge and/or build up a pre-log of videos.
@@MonkeyJedi99 both ideas are good. recharging the energy it takes to make stuff and also expanding your art techniques are wonderful to do. of course, you can do one or the other or both by looking up other ideas to make.
Put some handles on it and use it as a serving tray for frozen strawberry daiquis (so yea, my favorite drink) 🙃

Imagine if you made drinking glasses that matched the "floating block" pattern in various colors for Iced tea, or lemonade, etc.

An idea for the unfinished "floating squares" blank. Mount it on the lathe, and make the surfaces all smooth, leave the shape that rectangle shape, and mount stainless steel drawer pulls on each of the 2 shorter sides, as a sort of serving platter for sweets, desserts, or even a cheese platter for serving cheese when hosting a party. Then you'll have a matching "saucer" that is the opposite, yet matching..Maybe to put a teapot on the saucer, to go with the cheese, or deserts on the platter?

I definitely like the idea of keeping the shape intact! I love the lathe, but not everything should go on it. We lose so much range; Nick is a talented man, he shouldn't limit his gorgeous projects to one tool.
Bet the Resin teaport would look boss on this...
If possible, slicing the other one into thin panels and making a kinda stained glass box would be amazing!

Nick you should go to your local art supply store and purchase several bottles of sparkle dust or flakes to add to your projects. It could really enhance them significantly

I love the colors on this one. Maybe make something like a chessboard, or something along those lines for the other one? The plate also doesn't have to be a platter either. It can maybe be a cover for a wall light? Either of these could be a clock face. All I know is these are cool!
You need to do a chess board like this - different coloured woods and resins! Will be spectacular - like your other projects

First of all let me say that this peoject looks as good as always. But I see you making a lot of bowls, lamps, trays and plates in so many different ways that I'm asking myself: Is Nick Zametti ready for a challenge with a higher level? A challenge that is so much more that the word funkadelic is not enough to describe? Well, I don't know but I think he will try.
I would have just cleaned it up without making it to a round shape and used it as a hot board or a cutting board. But I love it just how you did it cannot wait for the next time.

I really like this one. I say absolutely do another but deeper. I noticed that the clearer resin that settled at the top made it look more like it was very cool. Would have made a cool lid. The CNC, what a machine. Wish I had one. Are they expensive?

It turned out beautiful! Add handles onto the square one and make a table tray or serving tray.....they are pretty popular. Whatever you do will be great.

You have to call that second piece The Waffle Project. It's too perfect!
Make the square thing into a hors d'oeuvres tray/plate, cheese, biscuits, dried fruit, that sort of thing. Finish the sides with a polished brass frame and polished brass handles on either end.
Would much rather have quality work instead of rushed work. Take your time my man we will be patient.
The leftover flat one would be a cool cutting board?! Kinda looks like a stain glass window also. The "plate" looks amazing. Great Job Nick!

Very nice, and very reminiscent of antique Japanese lanterns. Maybe make a 2D framed wall lantern with it :)
The epoxy colors you used for both of those projects would make for an awesome chess/checkerboard. Especially with that 'waffle' board framing for the squares.

It's great to see you posting a project, Nick. We love your work because you are the best at the unique project and I believe that you should continue with all of your waffling and post when you are satisfied with the results. Awesome quality over quantity, in my opinion. I know that doesn't feed TH-cam's algorithm the way that you probably would like it too, but it certainly would make for a more committed viewership, in my opinion. Great work! Keep it up.

Nick, there are so many possibilities with the second piece. I like the idea of a serving tray, or a lid for a jewelry box, but I also think it’s so gorgeous, as is, it would look great cleaned up and hung on a wall as a colorful window frame. The other would make a fabulous box lid, especially if you popped some LEDs round the edges inside.
For the second one, how about some turned handles running along the sides, with copper stand-offs, and make it a serving tray?
the second bit could be the lid of a box... or part of a lamp, maybe. a light box could be a nice compromise between the two.
perhaps an insert for a wooden table or breakfast tray?

The second piece you could make in to a rectangular platter with a lip for serving pastries and or sandwiches.
Nick the plate is beautiful! Make the second one a small tray with handles for on a vanity to hold bottles and such.
