For those who say he uses a lot of pomade, it’s kinda necessary. Thick wavy hair is tough to style even with all the right products. I myself use quite a bit of pomade to style my slick back because I have to. Otherwise it turnes into a pomp. And I don’t like the pomp
Curly hair is hell to deal with, man. Spend hours getting ready and as soon as you step outside, one gust of wind will ruin that & make you look like you now woke up lol. Trying to grow out the top of my undercut to fall backward so i might need at least half bottle.
@@gabriel.ac16 it's just about longer than my chin, i can prop the top part in a pony tail but i never really do that cause i feel like i break at few strands of hair every time i do that 😭. Anyway I'm staying strong, haven't cut it for a year+ at this point 💪🏻😤

I have curly hair and I've learned how to slick it back quite easily now and when I do I often get criticised that my hair is apparently "too slicked back" I just can't win. The whole point of this hair style is to be slicked back so how can it be too slicked back ...
Jamesc HD Late as fuck reply, you probably don't even slick it back anymore, but... DON'T CARE WHAT PEOPLE THINK ABOUT YOU. Just don't look dirty and you'll be fine, care about yourself and health
+Jamec HD they probably want you to have more volume in your hair but of course if you have too much volume your hair won't stay it's frustrating as hell
This is the best video. Just what I was looking for throughout youtube. Really helpful. Tried your technique today and it helped. It really stayed slick how I was wanting to stay. I wasn't able to do it like this so I had to cut it short. You think if I let it grow that it will stay like this? Even if the hair is longer.
4:21 I hate it when that happens at home when I do my hair, when there is a little strand sticking out in the back at the crown of the head, what should I do to get these little strands to stick down?
I don't think it's a question of how to do this style. It's question of how long it can hold. I can achieve this look but after 1 hr it starts lifting and about 6 hrs later I look like Vanilla Ice from the 90's. Poof!
Right so "Got 2 Be" brand pomade wasn't holding but I couldn't bring myself to pay 4x the money for this Layrite brand. I picked up "Axe Clean Cut Classic Pomade" and I'm impressed. Biggest tips are 1) Apply to damp towel dried hair (Not soaking wet and not blow dried) 2) Make sure to use a "knuckle" worth of the pomade. I wasn't initially using enough. 3) Work it into your hair little slowly as the video shows Hope that helps.
WOW THIS STUFF IS AMAZING. I BELIEVE THIS WILL WORK ON AFRICAN AMERICANS HAIR, ESPECIALLY HOLDING DOWN HARD TO LAY EDGES ON WOMEN. I GOT TO TRY AND THANK YOU 😊
Does this work for straight hair because I try to slick back my hair everyday but it always leaves a giant point sticking up in the back and I try to fix it but it always sticks up
+Band Nerd hey yes your cowlick on the back is the problem so. Add water to your hair when styling to put some weight on it remember not to put to much just a so it's damp. Then grab. LAYRITE ORIGINAL HOLD because you have straight hair and style as desired. I hope this helps
I'm having concerned about slicking back my hair.I love to slick it back but everytime I notice my come there's 3-5 pieces of hair on it every time i comb my hair and I'm noticing I got little spots with no hair or with less hair on my forehead please help I'm starting to think not to slick it back no more
Feel free to slick it back but just not as much as you use to, I love to slick my hair back but also notice a lot of hair coming out on my comb so what I do now is just slick my hair back once a month or sometimes I just don't slick it back at all for a good while cause when I was in school I would use hair products almost every day & I regret that now cause I know it wasn't good for my hair, I'm 21 years old now and Thank heavens I've still got a full head of hair.
I still slick it back I just use certain products I recommend water soluble pomades instead of oil yes it's original but ita horrible for your hair it's only petruelem which never gets off your hair
Folks you do need a lot of Pomade with thicker / wavy hair. I have wavy hair and trust me its a pain to style them compared to folks who have nice straight hair. I say invest in a good quality Pomade, you will thank yourself later!
mine does the same, maybe just push it to the the left or right side juuuuuuust a little bit. maybe your hair is a little longer and the weight wants to make it part on its own.
My slick back parts in the back of the head. So usually what I do to prevent it is comb it then apply a bit more in between the part where I know it’s going to part. It works.
i cant for the life of me keep my hair slicked back. It so much thick hair I have. Im just waiting to grow it out long enough so I can hold it back in a man bun. Seems like that will be the only way I get it to stay back.
Lol same. But you know what, I may have commented too soon. I tried layrite superhold again but i sprinkled my hair a bit with water and it worked a lot better this time for holding my hair slicked back.
***** Well now my hair is long enough that I just put it in a man bun. I hated having to use the layrite or any other gel to keep my hair down cause it would cause breakouts for me too. But yeah, I'm glad I'm past the stage where I would need any gel. Now its so much more manageable in a man bun.
For some unknown reason this video is relaxing me...
Its asmr and it's a wonderful world on TH-cam I recommend @asmr psychetruth's channel
I have no idea why, but it's having the same effect on me. I came here just to look up the product and ended up watching a few videos.
